I love this video so much! Short and simple, but still gets the point across. Perfect for my adhd brain that thought this would be difficult lol

Seconding this, as a fellow adhd brain haver - so simple and straight to the point without moving too fast to understand!! Perfect and a huge help 😊

Oh my gosh thank you so much! I was crocheting and this new yarn I got started to get tangled! I couldn't get it untangled and I got so upset, there was a knot and I thought there was no way to finish the project! But to this I cut the knot, finished the sc until I was near the end of the discarded yarn! Then put the other end in like you showed! Worked great, seem less to, thank you!

how secure is the first method? I feel like if the project were to be stretched and pulled a lot it could work itself loose and start coming undone
@anniescraftvideos
@anniescraftvideos Год назад
The first method is a more traditional method so if you do it right, it's very secure! You can always knot it and then stuff the tails in too!

Really enjoyed video. Just one question. I notice a lot of other videos, when changing color, or new yarn, stitch over the tails. Is the first method secure without. I notice it is a lot cleaner. I very much like the "first method". Thank you
@anniescraftvideos
@anniescraftvideos Год назад
You don't have to stitch over the tails! That's just a personal preference. As long as you properly weave in your tails, it shouldn't be an issue!

@unicornamazement2017
@unicornamazement2017 4 месяца назад
Weave them in and cut of the excess you can find tutorials for this as well

Would this be the same technique used if I am trying to add a new ball of yarn since I ran out? I am making a solid granny square and have ran out of my first ball of yarn. The stitches I am doing are double crochet (US). Thank you for your help!
@starsatnight98

then how about the new tail in first method??
@Tuffunikorn
@Tuffunikorn Год назад
I used the first method and decided to make long tails and weave them in later as much as I can. This would keep it secure right?
@anniescraftvideos
@anniescraftvideos Год назад
Yes! That's a perfect method of knotting and tiring it in :)
@lyssin4k
@lyssin4k Год назад
for the first method, if i cut the excess string off instead of weaving it in will it still work
@anniescraftvideos
@anniescraftvideos Год назад
You'll want to make sure the excess string is joined in some sort of way. Either a knot (which will show) or woven in.

About the first method. What can I do to basically hide the strings? Can I just cut them or what can I do?
@anniescraftvideos
@anniescraftvideos Год назад
You can weave them in with a tapestry needle!
@jrrose8777
@jrrose8777 Год назад
Would it technically be the same with a US half double?
@anniescraftvideos
@anniescraftvideos Год назад
It would be the same as finishing whatever stitch you are working on. In the video, I'm making single crochets and on the last yarn over, I use the new yarn. You can do it for any stitch if you use it on the last yarn over!

Just a Question: What will you do if you ran out of yarn in the middle of the project?
