This was a fun video!! I respect how you mixed with the locals very smoothly and humbly. I wish most travel vloggers shared those characteristics on RU-vid.
Actually jerk started during slavery. Some of the slaves escaped and fled to the mountains away from the soldiers, they took refuge in the mountains. Jerk was their method of cooking the meat they hunted in the mountains. However, the way they did it was in a hole. They did it that way so there would be little to no smoke going up through the trees which would notify the soldiers of their location. As time passed, the method of jerk changed as the slaves died out and processes evolved. Now a days, jerking is done on wood or most modern way now which is a jerk pan.
Was there The beginning of September 2019. Did Scotchies in Ocho Rios and Chukka Tours Horseback and Swim. The Jerk Pork with the pepper sauce is the bomb! Stayed at The Jewel Dunn River Resort. (all inclusive) Great People, Great Food, Beautiful Beaches.
Hey hun hope you are well and having a great day so far. Just found you today and really pleased we have your videos are awesome hun. Great footage and funky music too. Very entertaining, really want to visit Jamaica one day. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us really appreciate it. Huge thumbs up and love sent hun. Stay safe and take care catch up again real soon God bless you.
All the seasonings and spices used in the preparation of jerked dishes, including the Scotch bonnet pepper add to the flavour. The pepper adds the hot, fiery taste. Good video

Thank you so much, it is seriously one of my favorite places to travel to I just keep going back and I am hoping to do a Jamaica drone video next, stay tuned!
Hey there, I am from Montego Bay and I just came upon this video. I wanna day thank you for showing some of the best spots in Montego Bay unlike other tourists lol and I’m definitely smashing that sub button🙃
Yeah, was so surprised by the flower that tastes like garlic too! Thank you so much, Jerk is really delicious! Hope you get to taste it in Jamaica soon! :)
Hello Jennifer, luminous water is also found in Colombia at a place called Isla BARU Cartagena, if you go stay at the hotel "Royal Decameron Baru Beach Resort"
Yes I’ve heard there’s also a similar place in the Philippines, but this is the largest one in Jamaica and the only one you can swim in! Could you swim in the other one in Cartagena? Sounds awesome need to go there!
@@Jenniferobrien Yes, you can swim and it's next to the hotel I put in the comments, and thanks your the video I will be traveling to Jamaica on June 15 so this has helped with our travel plans :)
Moni yes it’s so fascinating it’s the brightest in the world and other locations don’t let you swim there but here they do in Jamaica! Highly recommend it but bring water shoes for the mud and go when there’s no full moon or no rain! :) have an awesome time!
Thank you so much, yes I absolutely love Jamaica and can't stop going back! Thinking of editing a video of all my Jamaica drone footage next so make sure to keep an eye open thank you!
Thank you so much, means the world! Yes, I absolutely love the Ocho Rios area too, so much to do there! Still need to go bobsledding! Always more to do in Jamaica! :)
Hi Jennifer! First of all, great video! Thank you for this one. In June we are going to Montego Bay and your video gives me a lot of ideas where to go. Also I have to inform because of my vision impairment. But I hope that won’t be a problem for the excursions. Do you have any tips regarding my vision impairment? Not that you are a specialist but you’ve been there. With what device did you make the video and the audio is also very good! 😊
Oh yay excited for you to go to Montego Bay. Hope all goes well, I am sorry I do not have any tips for vision impairment. I made this with my Rode Mic Pro, it's a great mic to pickup what's directly in front of it. Now I also use a Sennheiser lav mic for when I'm farther away talking to the camera.
Hi, I think you will be fine, if you use the hotels, they will be there to help you. And as a tip, there is a guy on here who has lost his sight and he travels the world. I saw him many years ago. I forgot where, but maybe someone will see what I wrote and remember him!
Great guide Jennifer! Also, the epic collective is worth a mention. they do private Jeep tours, I went on one to Portland. their website is theepiccollective.com
Im going to come out there in the next 2 years Im a RU-vidr as well, maybe Ill see you one day and we can collab! and you can show me how to survive out there lol
Scotches Jerk is overrated the food is not good. Food needs more spice seasoning. Jamaica is not Cuba so people go for the spicy tasty food. Believe it or not the best Jerk now a day are in the hotels or some roadside.
Jamaica is known for it's reggae music. Somewhat ironically, the worlds most successful reggae band comes from Birmingham, England, and is fronted by a white man.
As a Jamaican myself and having families that live there. Montego Bat is not a good place to travel to like it was back in the days. Crime rates are very high their. To everyone out there that want to be safe do not travel there. 😊🤷🏽♀️
Lovely Shanah wow! You just have to be that Bitch with the “crab inns barrel” mentality. There is always that one Jamaican like you who speaks badly about Jamaica. Crime is everywhere bitch. I love Jamaica and I plan to visit there soon. Great culture, great people and great food. Fuck off bitch.
Obviously you have not travelled here for a very long time I live in Montego Bay and it's beautiful here the tourist walk around freely without any harassment. You alone can't paint a bad picture on this place. You need to take a trip
I'm happy to see that you liked my hometown,, even though I haven't been back to my own country since 1997, I need to go there soon,,your video got me excited to go back lol.
