Hi! Thanks so much for watching! I know this is such a difficult thing to manage. You sound like an amazing mom who wants the best for her kids. I think it’s great that your daughter gets good grades, but being able to have a clean room is a part of a healthy, balanced life and will help her in her future. You have to be the one to put your foot down and not allow her to go out with friends until she has cleaned her room. At this point, she probably needs help - I would suggest getting a professional organizer or a really organized friend who could help her go through everything and get a clean start. Judith, great question! I would strongly recommend that you give him a small amount towards those things and set up chores for him to earn the rest. If he just goes to you if he wants something, he never has to budget or learn how money works in the real world. Hi there! Thanks for your comment. Every kid is different which is why consequences have to be customized. If the consequence isn't enough to cause her to try to change, you need to change the consequence to something that she values. You could also sit down with her and discuss what her struggles are and how you can help. Help her to set up reminders or whatever she needs but also change what will happen if she can't follow through. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!!

I have been trying to get my kids to clean up for years. I always end up doing it. I have tried many options but now seem to work. My kids are just lazy.
