Congrats on the new LX3310! I purchased a new L3301 last year. Neil and Messick's must be the only dealership that operate on this level, with keeping the customer in mind. We need more like them!

My neighbor, when she got her kubota bx, the dealer she got it from just dropped it off and didn't go over anything with her. I've had to show her how to operate her bx. I'm glad that you will take the time with your customers to go over everything.

Another excellent video, Neil, and very pertinent to me, as I purchased this same LX3310 a few months ago (sadly, the distance kept me from buying from you). I took full advantage of the green light from the queen to get my "dream ride," and I can't overstate how much the cab has changed the way I approach work. On open tractors I would plan tasks to avoid the hottest part of our north Georgia days, but now I look forward to being in that icebox. It was 93F yesterday and I had to turn the AC down a notch, and when it started raining I comfortably stayed out to finish the job. It's saved me from breathing in dust and pollen, and kept angry hornets at bay. The tractor is now my happy place. BTW, I also purchased it over the Internet, seeing it for the first time when I picked it up 5 hours away. I chose the tractor and options almost entirely because of your videos. Thank you!!

Lots of good information but I do have to say: The Lx3310 has automatic glow plugs timed by the ECU. The pto speed is viewed with the big black button next to the screen. The regen cycles (parked and auto) are determined by the tractor. These tractors like to run hot and hard to avoid constant regen cycles(don't be scared of using the throttle).

The battery thing, the original battery was still in my 2008 Toyota Tundra when I sold it after 9 years. Bought the truck brand new, never replaced the battery. I've had 2 batteries fail in my current pickup in less than 7 months, so far not a fan of Interstate Batteries LOL. My Kubota BX2680 is close to a year old now, man if the battery in it lasts 6 years I'd be happy, 12 years is really good for any battery I think. When I bought my BX2680 last year, I did the docusign with the dealer through email, it was quick, easy, and very well thought out...every document requested was easily scanned and uploaded, the whole paperwork process took maybe 15 minutes as I had gathered everything up prior to even starting the online process...my salesman told me the documents I'd need ahead of time, so I simply got them ready, scanned everything and then just had to enter basic information into the online forms, then upload payroll stubs, etc. as requested. Very easy system, although I made 1 payment before the tractor arrived, all the paperwork was already done and I could simply concentrate on the tractor, and all the controls as my salesman was pointing them out and demonstrating them. Kubota has this docusign system down really well. I was also very surprised how quickly my salesman contacted me after I had submitted my request for a quote online....he was awesome got everything together, then I had a couple changes, and simply emailed him, he refigured the quote, and emailed it right back out for confirmation, and away we went. If I had to do it again, I'd go with the same process, very easy, very fast, and no unanswered questions. Even the Kubota financial website is extremely simple, I can go in and make extra payments whenever I want, view my balance, print off anything I need, too bad Kubota don't run the banking websites LOL. Seems the loader on the LX3310 installs and removes pretty much the same way the LA344 loader does on my BX2680. Its a great system, I've taken the loader off 4-5 times this year already, since I got my 60" mmm the loader comes off whenever I mow, its so easy to do. At first I had some issues taking the loader off and getting it back on, but after a couple times its become very simple. Even the mower is pretty easy to install now, once I remembered to turn the anti-scalp wheels parallel to the mower deck, I simply roll it under the tractor, hook everything up, raise the deck and turn the wheels back around...I also realized the 2nd time I installed the mower that the collar on the PTO shaft stays locked open, so you simply line it up and push it onto the tractor PTO and it locks into place, no need to try and hold the stupid collar back while installing it...I don't think the PTO shaft on my tiller does that.

Very thorough. If the average customer gets anything like this, they are fortunate. Excellent walkthrough from my Deere dealer; very thorough and went further than this with the tech supervising me on the belly mower off/on, same for loader, same for backhoe. I'm sure there are many Deere and Kubota hit and miss experiences. And these are the tier 1 vendors. I can imagine what the tier 2 and 3 dealers don't do. Mine did a great job but the problem is as the folks in this situation mentioned: you can only absorb so much. I managed to absorb enough to not make any serious mistakes when attempting everything for myself the first time. You can get yourself tied up in knots for the first time or two with a backhoe, belly mower or a complex 3pt or front attachment like a snowblower. The Deere drive over deck is another level of elegancea and ease completely (assuming yours works, which mine does), but some people have theirs poorly adjusted leading to real frustration. In my case, the back hoe on and off defeated me. I got a Bxpanded dolly and the problem was solved. Some people have no problem with handling these backhoes but I was not that person. It all takes some practice to gain confidence and the cost of making a mistake can be high.

Wow that was nothing like the day my B2601 got delivered. My local dealer dropped it off on the street in front of the house. Gave a 30 second demonstration on how to move the tractor forward. And left. No instruction on using the loader, removing the loader, adjusting the 3 point (which had all loose hardware attaching the quick hitch). They didn't even bring my orange triangle placard or owners manuals. Got them mailed to me weeks later. Wish you guys were local to SC.

I am actually even more upset now. I purchased a very nice kubota from a very large dealer up here in northern Michigan. I have a million complaints, but this is one of those. I asked the salesman about complete order of operations. He assured me that the delivery person would go through it with me at delivery. When he showed up, he handed me a stack of manuals, and explained that he was only a delivery guy. EVERYTHING I know about my tractor, I had to learn on my own.

I feel your pain. I experienced the same thing when they Del my tractor one month ago. Was told the same thing. When I saw it at the lot salesman didn’t bring the key out with it let alone start it or show me what’s what. When I mentioned it they told me they’d demonstrate and go they everything at Del. Tractor gets delivered no demo nothing unload and parked it. One light doesn’t work and they’ve yet to take care of it. Your not alone my friend. Same thing I’ve learned it all by myself too. Dam shame!

Thats a shame we recently bought a Kubota MX5400 from Southern Outdoor and Tractor in Valdosta and they went through everything, and a very nice knowledgeable delivery guy too. Its a about the individual dealer and salespeople involved; but this is a simple tractor to operate too. Seat time is the best instructor, just dont max out the equipment to some unreasonable level and always run your tractor , whatever you buy at the correct RPM [ the 540 PTO recommended RPM speed-- It will be marked on the RPM dial ] Running low RPM is the #1 fault of a new tractor owner #2 issue is pulling --pushing --or picking up--- too much weight #3 failing to keep up with recommended maintaince, Put up a poster showing when to change oil and radiator fluid, when to blow out the air cleaner, Keep a grease gun right beside your tractor and use it regularly--- failure to change the radiaor fluid on a farm diesal can cause issues-- the lubricants wear out in this fluid---you can Not use cheapo car radiator fluid, buy the Diesal tractor rated oil and radiator fluids #4] this is not a toy -- It is not an amusement park ride---- Don't let kids drive your tractor or Ride perched on a fender either---dont be that person explainng the massive injury or death of a child to authorites thats about it

Hey Neil: Great video. Id love to own a LX3310. I have a B2320. I dont understand the draw of a belly mower. Its almost double the cost of a rear mower, and with a side discharge you leave tracts, and its a pain in the butt to remove off and on. Your thoughts?
@brianpoi5117
@brianpoi5117 2 года назад
I bought a belly mower when I bought my Massey Ferguson, thinking it would be easier to drive around obstacles and whatnot. Long story short, I sold the belly mower and bought a rear mower. Like you said, getting a belly mower on and off is a pain in the neck unless you do it every day. Plus they're expensive and require you to buy a tractor with a mid PTO, adding to the overall cost.

@RayStarbirdHome

I have this same setup -- an LX3310 with a belly mower. I chose that because (A) my mowing area is mostly curves, and I figured a belly mower would be easier to navigate, and (B), I wanted to keep my Big Tool Rack on the rear hitch, as it holds all of my trimming tools, saving me from trekking back to the shop. That said, I'm not gonna die on the belly mower hill and could make the rear mower work, especially if I didn't use the Big Tool Rack so much.

Messick's Equipment can you please make 1 video about the 540 and the 540E for what is used usually in what gears higher better low better it generets more sut? and stuff like that...
@bhard_man
@bhard_man 2 года назад
540E allows you to run the engine at a lower rmp therefore using less fuel in the correct application, if you have a 100hp tractor and only need 40hp to do the job correctly you would use 540E but if you are in a high load situation you would use 540. When used correctly (not loading down the engine) there is no side effects to emissions, only less fuel being used.
@MessicksEquip
@MessicksEquip 2 года назад
So there is a video here I would really like to do. I don't believe it saves you any fuel on a modern tractor. Fuel usage is dictated by load, not RPM. It may save some noise, but its doubtful that it helps with fuel.

I’m sure some people do buy them and then never even use them enough to scratch up the paint in the bucket, those same odd people would be the ones concerned about a sticker left on their tractors bucket. The normal 99% of buyers understand how much and for how long that sticker should actually bother them or effect them in any way. 0 for exactly 0:00. You know that sticker is weak AF iRL, It’s fall asleep while reading it level of boring, probably weighs less than 1 gram and it certainly has zero cool friends and also zero crypto, nobody has a clue where it actually came from or who it’s father is, plus, it can’t even vote. There is no rational reason for something so insignificant and weak to gain control of your emotions and distract you and your powerful brain from something else you would rather be thinking of in that moment. 👊
