As you prepare for the next step in your recovery, we want you to know what to expect every step of the way. This video addresses what to expect during rehabilitation from your care team.
You are the leader of your rehabilitation, and our staff is your care team. Your team will include nursing staff that is available to help you with your medical needs around the clock. Your rehabilitation physician will visit three times a week to assess your condition and treatment. A pharmacist will work with you and your nurses and physician to ensure you have the proper medications during your stay. A dietitian may also help you if you require a special diet.
Your therapy team could include physical therapists, occupational therapists and/or a speech therapist. A physical therapist will focus on building back your strength. Your occupational therapist will help you get back to everyday activities, such as dressing, grooming and meal preparation. A speech therapist can help you with cognitive issues, as well as swallowing.
Your care team will meet regularly to discuss your care plan and keep you moving forward. Your case manager will share this feedback with you and discuss your discharge date and planning.
