Hi, I'm Jackie Flynn! I'm a Certified EMDR therapist, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and EMDRIA advanced trainer, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with clients of all ages, including children and teens. I also offer EMDR therapy to groups. One of my favorite ways to deliver EMDR therapy is in nature at the beach, where I meet with clients for an extended session(s), sometimes a day or two, to speed up the healing process through the integration of nature using the momentum of continuing sessions beyond the typical therapy hour. While it's well known as the treatment of choice for PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, it also works for other things that keeps ups feeling "stuck" in life. When distressing or disturbing events or patterns of events occur, aka TRAUMA, our autonomic nervous system can become wired in a faulty way, leaving us reacting as if the past is present in states of mobilization (fight or flight) or immobilization (freeze). EMDR helps our nervous system resprocess the trauma allowing us to get our life back on track, raising the quality of life.
