What To EXPECT: Starting Locs W/ Braids/3 Strand Twists/Plaits 

Don’t avoid water. Don’t skip cleansing your hair. Hair should be cleansed atleast every 2-3 weeks. Locs is literally matted hair. Water will help locing.

Thanks for the tips on your loc journey. I l just started my loc journey one month ago I started with a two strand twist and last week I took the plunge and did my first 2 point rotation on my hair so far so good 😊I have thin fine hair so I have small locs 156 total.

I started with braid locs a few months ago my hair very soft and curly I tried other methods didn’t work, your locs are beautiful, people ask me are those sister locs, I’m like no they are imperfect braid locs, that will eventually loc up.

Hello.. I started my loc Journey about 2 months ago in jail using the braid method. I’ve been stressing out about learning about proper maintenance I’ve done my best to trust the process and my Jail stylist I’ve tried learning to braid and I pretty much got the honey combs down. I made it to a Rehab directly from jail about two weeks ago and Im honestly wondering if doing this method was a good idea with my hair texture being not curly at all (straight) im Mexican I’m worried about leaving the braids out of the honeycombs I feel like they would keep unraveling (my hair grows fast and was already super long, my roots are already starting to dread.) any wisdom / advice? I can’t go to a professional dread doctor for at least another two months

How fatter did it get? That’s my only issue. Thinking of loosening my braids my palm rolling cos I’m afraid it may not get fatter.

Hello, did your braids loosen up at all during the process? I noticed mine started looking loose in the middle of some of the braids. Also, if they do that should I just leave them be? They are still braided.

I started my braid locs 6 weeks ago but i made it loose so it's only the root that has the braid pattern so what maintenance method can i use. I wanted to do the palm rolling method but I've seen some vidoes say that the root will be larger than the rest.
