Hi Kevin, I'm not too far away in Los Angeles. It was a great surprise seeing you in Niall's video. I've been subscribed to your channel for a bit. Keep up the great work.
I already have enough raised beds and they take forever to screw together...I nearly had a mel Gibson Mad Max moment..seriously I was seeing Russel Crowe Gladiator moment there were so many screws I thought I was a prisoner in cell block H ( without the privilege of the iron press)....hang on is their a chilli named after a Phil Collins song
Great information thank you, can I suggest if you can show the name of the plants on the screen please because sometimes spelling might be completely different from the way it sounds when you say the name thank you 🙏
Bought my house last year, already removed 2 barrels of Vinca thats spread allover the front garden. It climbs in other plants too. I'd almost say 'it spreads like mint', but mint is still a wee bit worse.
Hi Niall. Oh man, what a great surprise, seeing Kevin from @epicgardening show up in your video. Both of us are in California. I've been one of his subscribers for a bit now. He's a little bit south of me as I"m in Los Angeles. It's always a treat seeing Liz! 🙂 Love when the two of you chat back and forth with one another when you're together. Thank you for another awesome video Niall. Take care.
Whoohoo off to watch. Fantastic video, Niall, so much I could say. Lots of great recommendations. Got my periwinkle, white from my mum,she is no longer with us, so it's here in my garden, ha ha, it never dissappears. Thanks so much, and enjoy today's sunshine.
Great suggestions and I like that you have included someone from an entirely different climate- Kevin! Yayyy Liz! That berberis is an absolute STUNNER!!
USDA Zone 8, looking into my garden now: 1. Zinnia ✔ 2. Peppers ✔ 3. Alyssum instead of Vinca 4. Look at that breathtaking orange shrub 😍🤩!! 5. Long beans and flat beans Thanks for the Video Niall 😊
Your tulips are gorgeous! I have certainly enjoyed my tulips this spring. What a lovely garden you have! I love growing flowers, fruits, vegetables, and herbs together. Thanks for all of your wonderful advice on what to grow each month 🙂
I grew Zinnias for the first time last year. I Was suprised how long the flowers lasted. Growing them again this year. Heres hoping they will grow well.
Thanks, Niall, Kevin, Ruth and Liz!! Jimmy Nardello peppers are my favorite pepper. No diseases or pests, great yield and flavor, and you can prune it to your heart's desire! I pruned one to look like a tree on the plains of Africa, super tall and umbrella-like at the top. Grow some Jimmies!!
I am so happy to have found you and these videos. I am a new gardener after neglecting my garden for years in Northern Ireland and totally overwhelmed with where to start after clearing old beds and adding compost so thank you Niall. I am following now with your series to help keep me right ❤
wow these tulips look lovely, i like the deep red, almost black. i love zinna, they get all the bees and the are amazing. i love that they will bloom for months
great guest talking about peppers! mine are in the house and almost 12 inches in height so cant wait to plant out in poly tunnel! great tip on periwinkle growing - interesting to treat similar to strawberry runners! tend to grow french beans rather than runner beans! thanks for the video and hope you are doing well! have a great weekend
Oh my stars! Berberis Darwinii is going to make it into my yard this year. I LOVE it. Thank you so much, Niall. Have a good week and stay safe up there. DA
Good day my friend. Planting zone 5A here in Canada! In May, it’s time to sow lots of seeds inside under lights and with heat. Our Brassicas are all going in on May 4th, my Birthday! Take care Niall!
wow a birthday on Star Wars Day (May the Fourth). - happy birthday! enjoy sowing and planting under cover but am sure you’ll be planting outside in Canada soon!
I have 3 different vincas in my garden growing in different areas- shade /sun/dry/ very wet. They are great as ground cover under trees and shrubs. Thanks Niall
Hi Niall thanks, caught up on this episode, great ideas and garden looking gorgeous over there, berberis looks fantastic, snd your blossom trees very pretty , great vlog happy gardening x
Brilliant idea, thanks 🙏 so much. Would be great to do every month if you could, I’m in the Wild West of Ireland and a newbie to gardening so this is super double super helpful, cheers 🥂
Hi Niall, I must be dping something wrong with my zinnias. I have sown 12 seeds (4 varieties) and only 1 single seed germinated. I have had it for weeks now on a heat mat. They must have fried 😅 Great video. 🙏💐
Hi Naill. Not had much luck with zinnias in the past but have some in module trays waiting for them to show. Not in a heated propagator love growing all sorts of beans and going to have a go at several varieties this year including runner beans
Great video and I'm with you on Zinnias 👏 except the slugs devoured a lot of them last season.awesome to have Kevin on your guest list 😍 Peppers ticked and Runner beans too 💚🌿
*wince* I love your guests, but... vinca?!? Nooooo! I have been battling the periwinkle (vinca major) vines that the prior owner planted since I moved into my home 7 years ago. By battling, I'm talking about literally digging up beds, and sifting out the numerous roots of this pernicious, aggressive vine. It's still growing back. The roots go a foot deep, by the way (I'm in zone 7 with clay soils). It's also coming up as seedlings everywhere around the property, as is the wisteria vine that the prior owner allowed to escape the garden. Invasive, tenacious vines are such a nuisance! Vinca will sneak in under your other plants where you won't even see it growing for months, until it suddenly mounds up to smother your desired plants. Please, please don't plant this menace.
Please stop giving me Fahrenheit!!!!!!!!! Love what you are doing but not everyone lives in the US!!!!!!!!!!! Imma gonna have to leave here! Fahrenheit, and PERIWINKLE????? Jeez lowiese! I have been trying to eradicate both of those. PLEASE!
