Yes 😂. My mom says this my fist 12 yrs with her. After that and I started working each summer, making my own money 💰 💵 💴 I started taking them to our resident dressmaker to boot cut them and made to measure them all. Been doing this, from I was a boy, now 34 and I am still on it. I don’t like baggy clothing, I love to show off my body. 😅😅😅…
As a tailor: half my job is figuring out what people mean when they use weird words. It usually involves saying a lot of, "Thank you, however I'd like to clarify..."
@@chazlyle41 A lot of people don't know what a taper nor what a fade is. And say stupid stuff like a ''taper fade'' what even is that shit? pisses me off cause just creates unnecessary confusion but its funny
Little correction from a professional tailor- The perfect pant-length is always taking how slim and tapered the pants are in regard. A skinny fit pair of pants can be worn a bit above the ankle while a pair of straight fits kan lie 2 cm above the floor.
That doesn’t mean it looks good 😂 also his pants were a bit too tapered as well. He looked like a kid that outgrew his pants. What you are saying is obviously correct, but he overdid it.
Another tip bro ( for teens ), and this is coming from a minimalist Asian.... Buy slightly longer pants and get them tapered like you said to however extent you want Then , you curl the additional part in, and get it tailored And if you think you're gonna grow into them , just loosen the sewing and extend the pants .... Boom !! No additional costs of buying a new pant
@@AmazingAutist Being minimalist is a good thing, but Asians are already minimalist originally, so that adds to the ability to save up more I cant really put it in words yk
@@JasonAizatoZemeckis well I mean they said buy slightly longer pants, so if the waist fits you you’d only have to grow vertically. I guess a belt could work, but people grow different ways so after they grow the length might fit, but then the waist won’t.
Standard is up to an inch down from the wrist break. The wrist break is just the starting point. After that, it is determined according to personal preference.
@@sammierose1150 there are plenty of tricks you can do to lengthen your clothes. Obviously try buying bigger clothes to make them smaller. But you can also add fabrics in most cuts to extend however it's usually cheaper to just buy a new piece
@@StevenAcunaBG05 unfortunately, they literally don’t make any women’s clothing longer in length than anything that’s even just barely too short for me. I’m 6’0” tall and for most clothing labels/designers, that’s not the norm and so they don’t spend the extra capital to invest in designs that are 6’0” and up friendly for women. Some items I can get in the tall men’s section, but not all.
@@sammierose1150 many online shops have got a tall section for taller women, but i guess you likely already tried those. would it be an option to buy men's pants and get those tailored to your liking? like, stylewise? if you like baggier pants that could be worth a try! but if you like more feminine or tighter fits it of course could be harder to alter men's pants to this.
@chill boi 'aesthetic' itself is not a thing, there are different types of aesthetics, and something can be aestheticly pleasing, but an 'aesthetic vibe' is not a thing
“If your sleeves are too long” Bruh that’s how long you want them. You got them tailored and bent your arms and they immediately shrunk way past your wrist.
Looking good man! Just came across your shorts today, need to re-do my wardrobe after a long weight loss journey so I'll definitely pick up some of your advice. Thanks for that!
Just buy some new good fitting clothes! You will feel a whole lot better and probably save money. And should the time come - if weight fluctuates - you have clothes to wear. Treat yourself and get new stuff.
@@lizziesangi1602 I will! Massive sales start in my country next week, it will be the perfect opportunity. I already bought a new baseball cap from the MLB floral collection, which is probably the boldest piece I bought since I was a child, and I'll go from there
I'm a woman watching these stuff because recently my brother has been buying new stuff for his wardrobe and could never answer when he asked for my opinion. I actually learnt a lot of things thanks!
I would suggest buying a cheap sewing machine and learn how to sew. I thought myself how to sew and now I do my own alterations. Knowing your own measurements else helps a lot
Bro you help me a lot .I almost make all those mistakes you mention. I am so used to with mistakes it make me think it normal until my female friends mention my outfits
you are thinking of someone making your clothes from scratch. this is not the same, its alteration as a business, you can just walk in to places that do this. most complete alterations will set you back something like $15 per request. if you struggle to afford that to make your clothes fit you better, well.. i can't help you improve your poverty situation. learn to sew? :S
Tailors aren’t that expensive depending on what your tailoring, a suit yes, but slight changes like hemming a shirt or cutting the sleeves a bit only cost like 20 bucks
There are brands that cater to tall women, 6ft isn't so tall that it's impossible to find clothes. Also, womens items are often fashionable in shorter hems for pants, ankle length is normal for most styles. You won't find tall pants in every brand obviously, but they're our there. Consider investing in having a tailor make you cutom pants, at the length you want. They can't lengthen the leg if the original hem doesn't have enough leeway. Getting custom pants won't be cheap, but with nice fabric, that's an investment that will last for years if you go with a timeless style. I have custom made clothes that are 15years old and going strong, occasionally needs new zipper/ buttons but still look good if you take care of it. If having custom made clothing is too expensive to get more than one piece, You might want to wear a midcalf boot with shorter pants or opt for high top shoes, in the meantime. Mens jeans/ pants can be tailored well to fit you even around the crotch or your butt.
👋 I work in an alterations shop. Everything in this video is up to personal preference, so yes, you would need tell the tailor what you want done. I prefer my sleeves to sit at the base of my thumb and my pant hem just above the heel of my shoe, both much longer than what was done in the video.
IMPORTANT: people please remember! Be able to understand and recognize that there is different style/ genres of clothes, keep in mind that there’s also sizes on one letter sizing clothing. For example, a men’s size L tee shirt from H&M, or Macy’s, can also be L(large) regular fit, L classic fit, L Slim fit, L loose fit,L long fit, if this is the case the tag will make that aware, items like these are the ones you want to look for or at least try on when you come across clothes that have specific sizes like I said, they will fit much more accurate, compared to the more “ one size fits all xl l m s xs etc “ sizes, so pay attention to what style clothes your looking at and know how it should be born and how long it should be, many ppl have lots of clothes that is one size off Bc they get lazy and impatient when they go shopping for 2 shirts once a year, it takes time , know ur local mall and what style and how they fit you and for what occasion clothes is in each store, if ur 5,9 and weight 180+ lbs, and you can’t bench your own weight or u don’t have any visible muscle, you are fat. Men 180 at 5,9 is overweight unless it’s all muscle. My point is, you can not hide that belly and tittys with a big shirt and say “ it’s supposed to be big that’s the style, or “ I like it a little more baggy and long tho” no u don’t, u know it don’t fit, u know evryone can see how much fat is on u, you will look better wearing clothes that fit your body, depending on the style, Even tho they show more of your body shape then ur used to showing, you’ll look much better then buying clothes a size too big. Get in the gym
Agree with everything except the last one. Seeing socks while standing is not good, and they get shorter when you sit. Those pants look like a kid who grew out of his pants but still can’t fit the next size up because his waist is too tiny, so he wears the ones that fit in the waist even though his socks or ankles are showing. But everything else was good (although the taper was slightly too tight IMO, but we all have preferences! The ankle one though is not a preference thing lol NOBODY should do that!)
