For my first time playing, I wore some camo pants and a hoodie. Just something I could get dirty. If you feel like you want more protection, go for it. You should feel comfortable and protected. Like Brad said, just go and have fun! It’s a great sport and I hope that any new player seeing this finds a great group of people at their local field that makes them want to come back and play again!
Why doesn’t paintball grow? Ridiculous prices for markers that’s why. I own a business, have enough money to buy top of the line markers but spending over $1,200 for a marker is ridiculous
What? You can get a working marker for like $100. Is the $1000 one going to be better? Probably, but the fun is the same. It's just a pretty dead sport, all the mil-sim people went to ASG and without them there aren't that many people left to want to play paintball exclusively, at least not in my area.
I tell all new players the same thing, spending over $400 on a marker is stupid. I used to play with a kp3 and a low cap hopper and clean house all day for a bag of paint against guys with lux's and PE.
wore a tshirt or long sleeve camo, cargo pants/short and my steeltoe work boots for years. finally upgraded to using a jersey/camo tshirt with arm pads, HK Army hardline pants and $50 cleats from a local sporting goods store.
I honestly thought I was gonna have a really hard time running in Dress Shoes, Yes Dress Shoes. I even screwed in washers and nuts to work as cleats but it actually held up really well. My friend and I went as Cosplay John Wick and Cassian in AndCollar stain repellant suits. (Magfed) HAD A BLAST!!
First time I went paint balling, it was my 13th birthday, just wore some tennis shoes, cargo shorts, and a T-shirt, It was totally fine except for one thing, we were at a place that had a lot of heavily wooded fields. I got scratched all up in my legs pretty bad. You definitely gotta dress for the environment, for me personally, I want to be as light weight and breathable as possible. It wasn't long before a got some pants with a little bit of padding around the knee area, and a nice jersey that I could stay cool in, along some cleats, pretty sure they were football cleats, after seeing the soccer ones you shown in your video I think I would have preferred those, likely to be a new purchase soon.
A thick hoody over the protective shirt works well for me, tho I found that actually putting the hood on makes my mask fog up because it blocks ventilation from up top and the sides.
5:42 I've been conuncused by paintballs before, the kid 4 feet behind me was blind firing and shot me 5 times in the back of the head. So concussions can happen
if you get a concussion from a paintball you should probably wear a helmet and use a mouth guard at all times, plus I think living in a bubble just for safety is probably a beneficial choice too!
@@tylermallory2504 okay lets see how well you do getting shot point blank in the head multiple times. What type of dumbass comment is that? Injuries can happen in any sport. I've broken toes from playing too
Uh that might be the only time you get “ concussed “ but I doubt it actually concussed you … The ball isn’t going to have enough mass to make the brain slosh against your skull … Does it hurt like a mf ? Yeah but … it’s not the same.
In the summer I play shirtless. But I need pants , head band, and high top cleats other wise I get cuts on my knees , sweat in my eyes, and I’ll slip on uneven ground and twist my ankle
@@azmc4940 Yeah, but sliding shorts aren't cheap. This video mostly applies to newer players. Most newer players aren't sliding around like that and don't have the money to invest in sliding shorts. Volley ball knee pads are like 12 bucks and they make a huge difference.
I have no idea why I’m watching this :D I’m not new to paintball. And I will keep wearing my neon green clothes even when playing in the woods because I want people to see me.
Does this help you in woods ball are you speed/hyper ball only? I wanna participate in both at my field thought about using my old boots but they are worn out
@@Mantis_Shrimp99 ive used them for both. In the woods, the rubber helps if your in structures etc, on speedball you have cleats that dig in. I used to use soccer cleats but the plastic is no good in the woods. Especially running into a building with wood floors, talk about a tumble 😂
Been thinking about upgrading to a carbon mask from a grill 2.0. Worth it? (Also interested in a push mask but I will not use a proflex as long as I live)
Pro tip for dudes. Wear a protective cup in some compression shorts. Ive seen many men crying unable to drink water after getting their nuts painted lmao
If only there was something made specifically for people who go on real combat missions and need to dress appropriately. Something like a uniform maybe? I know, wild though. But if you want to look like you just got out of bed and were lazy to change your pyjamas, suit yourself.
Is wearing padded clothes legal now? They used to not allow that since it would make paintball bounce. If you can't take a little bit of pain paintball probably not for you. Camo is a joke. You are shooting colored paintballs. Everyone knows where you are.
