I wonder why there are over 500 views and only 30-ish likes. I am an old lady, always a preacher’s kid, and so appreciate the openness and clarity used by getting back to the real scripture and shining a spotlight on the CoC Mishna. It makes me wince when I think of the standards we’ve put on ourselves…and others. Your podcasts ask us to broaden our vision to include what scriptures say but, more importantly, exclude what they don’t. Thank you.
This speaks to the truth about what modesty actually means. Dressing in any fashion which is intended to draw attention to our appearance is immodest. This does not mean that we are necessarily in the wrong if people notice our attire. Our heart should be to not distract or call attention to ourselves by our attire. Thank you for acknowledging that "worship" means more than the cooperative assembly. In the Gospels, people that came to worship Jesus didn't gather an assembly. They fell down at his feet. Coincidently, that is what the word that is most associated with worship means. To fall prostrate before. You also mentioned Romans 12 that says our LIFE is the offering. The assembly is a part of that, but not the whole. God intends that we conform our entire life to his will. That we live with our will perpetually bowed to his.
