What to wear to play paintball for the first time. 

Thorough and well presented - more hints and recommendations than I expected.

wear long sleeves, avoid shorts, dress for the weather.. well that sucks cuz i'm in texas and the weather is hot

To add my 2 cents, don't wear jeans. They usually don't have enough mobility to them, when I started playing I wore either shorts (not a great idea) or sweats. And if you start playing often, have a detonated paintball wardrobe. That way you won't worry as much about it ripping or getting really dirty

You can go for land mines but some courses won't let you use them but grenades are usually sold there so you can just pick one up and go out and fun!

The actual paintballs themselves don't hurt as much as the welts make it appear, but kneeing down on a tree root... you better believe that *does* fucking hurt !! Basically for bush paintball played in a forest, the better gear you have, the better you will be able to move without taking constant environment damage. On our bush course it's very uneven, natural rainforest topography with A LOT of 2-3 inch high stumps, and rocks, and holes almost everywhere, because you aren't focusing on your footing while trying to run and gun, you never always know when you're going to hit one or misjudge the ground geometry and sprain your ankle, or at worst break it. I would be head to toe right now in bruises and cuts right now if i didn't buy a full kit for my first go, mainly because I already knew I was definitely going to be sliding, diving, rolling, and crawling along on hard dirt, rocks, tree roots, and very nasty bush ants; and I did *all* of those things, and it was beyond awesome. IF however i went in wearing just some dick togs and a pair of volleys, I'd say I would have had a REALLY bad time, though not because the painballs but because the environment, and i probably would have come away from my first time thinking a lot less of paintball. In the end it all depends on how you value your freedom of movement; the better/more gear you have, the more freedom you have to thrash yourself around better, for longer, and be still perfect for work the next day or w/evr. If you're only going to be playing on flat, manicured grass with nice soft squishy inflatable bunkers, then perhaps wearing full tactical pants, high end knee/elbow pads, slide shorts, and padded shirt or jersy *will* be mostly overkill; probably just some light kneepads and maybe elbow pads you you don't eventually wear your skin raw from sliding a hundred times on field grass. TL;DR : You will never be sorry you bought that pair of high end, good quality tactical knee pads. And if you're playing in the bush, probably some tactical training boots(training boots are brilliantly light and maneuverable, even at 8-9", at about half the price of actual combat boots and one third the weight), at least semi-descent quality for the boots, don't get a $20 pair unless you want them to fall apart quickly.

Orrrrr you can be like me and make some armor . maybe out of wood or some strong plastic. But it works wonders in preventing injury

I was at a tree job (im a beginning arborist )and these ppl were luke super rich and theyhad a rolloff dumpster i pulled out two brand new guncases some super and a few random things but also a paintball kit brand new it had a flak jacket a gun a single glove and multiple cans of paintballs the only thing i need next is a can of air

You can find inexpensive gloves. I got a pair for like $10 and they've lasted me a few years. Also, my first pair of gloves were just mechanics gloves from Wal Mart and they worked just fine.

Second, I'm not sure if it's indoors, so should I wear tennis shoes just in case, and if it is outdoors are tennis shoes ok? Because I have Jungle boots at home.

I'm an experienced paintball player, having been playing and reffing for several years I have to say this is one of the best instructional paintball videos i've seen. good job! MASKS ALWAYS STAY DOWN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Most people complain "i can't see im fogged up" and go to pull their mask up. would you rather stumble around for a few minutes while a ref comes to you or lose an eye?

Don't worry too much about wearing layers if you're not playing somewhere cold, once your adrenaline is going the only places that hurt when you get hit are the top of your head, your neck, your hands and your stomach if you don't wear a pod pack.

I wore my rotc ABU's (Airman Battle Uniform, basically the air forces camouflage) when I went with a group of friends. They laughed at me at first, but they immediately got karma when I was prone in the woods. They couldn't see me as it was dark and I blended into the brush. It also didn't help them as they wore bright colors.

Lmao, I always run a 350 usd gun with short pants, short shirt, and a beanie. There is no reason to buy a jersey, pants however, if you play hyper all or speedball, use good paintball pants so you can slide.

I have been playing paintball for abput 3 and a half years and I dont know why im watching this.

I went yesterday for my first time (11/26/22) and it was awesome. Really love everything their and I did came prepared and since it was black Friday deal it was cheap to rent the paintball and the gun. I did camp for my first few games because I was nervous but then I actually started to come out during the 3 game

i remember the first time i played i somehow got dirt inside my gun and it wasn't shooting, but i didn't know, i was the first one to move to the new map and i made like 3 or 4 shots to make sure the gun was firing as it was supposed to be, to this day idk how but the referee got there riding his bike and screamed at me and the people that were just coming inside the new map saw me get screamed at :(

so i recently went to a local field and i love the game. I'm planning on buying a kit so i have my own stuff and i only have a few questions. 1. do co2 cans need to be replaced, refilled, etc, after being used for x amount of time or am i fine as long as i don't brake it by extensive abuse? 2. do i need to study the inner workings in the gun incase of a jam or simply to clean it or do these things rarely happen? 3. do i need to buy extra parts incase of #2? thanks for the help :)

At my local field they give you a jump suit to cover your clothes
