You Cant alter a flat rate box correct. The other priority boxes are paid for by dementions and weight. Same as using ANY box n just paying for priority. So you are right. But u need to emphasize they will be charged per weight and dimentions..

In saying that, if I package something myself in a plain brown carton and send it Priority Mail, will I pay less than the Priority carton provided free from the PO? My understanding is that they'll give you the carton for free provided you use the service. In other words, if you use a Priority envelope, you cannot send it First Class. You must pay Priority rate.
@@Royale_with_Cheeze If you use the priority box, envelopes or bags you have to pay priority postage same with Express mail, Express postage. If you use your own box you pay for the service you want. Check the rates since they change frequently it seems .
@@jimmy0999 I understand that flat rate means you pay the same regardless of weight. I suppose if you boxed up the same item in your own packaging and another in their flat rate Prioritiy package, your own package might cost more. That makes sense that the price of the "free" carton is factored into the entire fee.
@@Royale_with_Cheeze That is correct. Sometimes people use flat rate boxes when they could have shipped the item in their box and it would have cost less than the flat rate box.
I have a question, if I use a priority mail box with a first class shipping label, for example, will the post office accept it?? Or does a priority mail box have to have a priority mail shipping label??
I’m confused. I went to usps and the boxes where labeled at 17.99 depending size and I asked …… where’s the free boxes ? And she said . Those are free but you have to pay 17.99 once it’s out ?¿……. The purpose of this is to ship it for free I don’t care If the box is freee
