I know in the uk when your a student you get a uni days and a uni days ID which allows businesses to verify before giving out student discounts. So I’d think places like American would have something similar???

I work at Verizon and no one will act like this and most people tend to go out of their way to find you discounts on your plan in order to sell you more. No employee cares because it doesn’t affect our performance or pay 😂💀

They have called us multiple times through the years to tell us we could save money by literally doing nothing, but they found/made something that helps us. Idk if it's just to retain the business, but between not having any personal problems with them ever and they're consistent offers it's really hard to understand Verizon hate.

Actually it does affect your performance, when people call back because they don't get what they want, you lose your performance incentives. Verizon wants their customers to get what they want.

@@Toke-YT I currently work for Verzon, there's not such a thing like "discount for disabled people" nor for senior citizens, but it makes sense though,if Verizon offered discounts for senior citizens they would be bankrupt by now, because almost all of their customers are elders, after all: who else would have the ability to pay for the ridiculously high bills Verizon charges?

I worked at Verizon for 12 years. This discount is right on the website like the rest of them and us reps could care less it doesn't effect us to give discounts. We always looked for ways to save.

I worked at at Verizon. We literally didn't apply ANY discounts in store. You have to go online and do it yourself.

Yeah as a corporate rep I’ll just say we do everything we can to save people money while still getting them the deals they want. Nobody is reluctant to hand out discounts. We work on salary plus commission. It’s a benefit to us to help people out and it’s very mutual.

What the video doesn’t tell you is that her sister has to be put on her account as an “account manager” so she can apply her discount. At some point her sister will have to update her student discount and once she is no longer a student and can no longer provide proof, the discount falls off.

Verizon doesn’t tell? Nah, they tell you all your options and then lead you into gettin a newer phone. The discount is the trick to get people to get new phone while thinking they’re paying low.

Verizon always seems to try and find discounts whenever we go in and upgrade. You could also throw in autopay discount (must be a checking account not a credit card)

i used to work at verizon customer service. yes there are discounts for students and teachers. when i switched companies, i learnt that not all providers receive that discount

They used to give you $5 up if you did paperless billing and then once you turn 50 they'll give you 5 or $10 off your bill also. I'm at that stage now and they did it for a year and then it just kind of disappeared and they keep saying they're working on fixing the issue-for three years?!

So the issue with the student discount is it goes through UNIDAYS and you have to verify you are a student. They make it quite complicated. I provided my student email bc we don’t have our badges yet and they won’t apply the discount

Well because there are ways to verify occupation while disability is more of a personal information subject. No one is supposed to ask if you are disabled …it’s even an option to not answer it on forms

The stores don’t apply the discount. You have to go on to the website and apply for the discount. Employees don’t care if your plan is cheaper or you buy the most or least expensive phone. They get paid regardless.

First of all they wouldn't have talked to you in the first place because you're not your sister and it's not your account. The information on the account wouldn't be available to you. Second you couldn't get the $300 off of One bill you could get $25 a month in this instance. Seems like following Erica leads to questions

As a Verizon customer. I can tell you this. The people inside the Verizon store are clueless and cannot help you with anything. The one thing they can do is help you call customer service. Customer service is always in a foreign country. There will be lots of problems understanding what you're talking about or what they are talking about.. Expect them to hang up the phone on you before helping you. Although this discount may be true, Verizon will do everything possible to make sure you don't actually talk to someone that can help you. Your patience will break before Verizon lifts a finger to help.
