I have watched so many videos and tutorials from so many channels and this is by far the fastest most informative video that covered EVERYTHING every beginner needs to know so beautifully I know everyone wants to be all friendly and fun for there videos and you made this without overdueing it in my opinion straight to the point and literally covers so much useful info for starters I will definitely be sharing this video great job 🙂
Thanks for summing up not only the difference between the machines, but also the different products used for the machines. All of these looked easy enough to use... after some practice I'm sure. Hoping that Santa brings me a Cricut.
Hi Whit. That coral color is such a beautiful color on you. You and Courtney are killing it with these beautiful Cricut DIY's. It's so hard to pick a favorite. I LOOOOOOVE all of them!! Hope you have a great evening/ day. Stay safe. God Bless.
Thanks for this video. You are so right about the craft stash. I have been sick and haven’t gotten to do many crafts lately. My grandkids got me the pens for grandparents day, but haven’t try them yet.
Thanks for sharing, Whitney! Just got my first Cricut, (the Joy) for Christmas and I can't wait to start using it! I'm going through your Cricut videos to get started.
You’re awesome! You have no idea how much I’ve learned from you! Thank you so much for using the Cricut Air Explorer, I was very disappointed a couple minutes ago while I was watching a tute and got exited about making it but found out that my machine doesn’t cut fabric, however, I watch you video thinking to put my machine on eBay and now, I’m so keeping it! 😂 you sure inspired me and you have such a personality that I believe everything that you say! Thank you again for being a kind human being! ❤️ Love from Florida 🌸
Thank you! I'm saving this video. I just got a Cricut. After I recover from my foot surgery "next week when I get my stitches out" I'm going to be playing around with it.
Wow Thank you all your cool hacks for the cricut. Love your banner of your beautiful baby boy. That is a awesome idea. All your projects are incredible....😀👍👍👍💗❣💜✌✌✌🐰🐰
Great tips and tricks, I absolutely love making flowers with card stock, I have a Rubbermaid container filled with them, so they are ready whenever I need them for a project.
Hi Whitney, as always, thanks for the tutorial! Couple of questions around Cricut’s Iron-on vinyl.. how do I know what heat level to set my iron to? And also, when do I need a protective layer over the vinyl vs not? I saw for the easter basket you didnt use one, but your more recent videos I believe you tend to cover it with something before putting the easypress on? Thanks so much in advance!!
Thank you for all the tips and explaining things. I have had a Cricut for 2 year's and I'm just learning how to make basic things. This thing scares me, I don't want to mess everything up trying to figure it all out.
I learning but it's still overwhelming. So much information and maybe it's because I don't have a cricut yet, but the video was to fast for me to understand everything. Still willing to learn and one day I'll buy one.
Great tutorial, I need to break out my infusible ink stash. I’ve been so intimidated by it🤦🏽♀️. I also need to get those crafting files they literally made me LOL 😂 and are super cute! Happy crafting!
Whitney what an AWESOME video.....TYTYTY....You are so amazingly TALENTED!!!!!!!! Those flowers so pretty.....My craft stash is Huge!!!!! Love that Whiskey and Whit T-shirt.....
Love your channel! Would you be able to do a video on how to assemble the iron on vinyl when an image has more than just one color of vinyl. Hope I worded that correctly. Ive been wanting to try a more "complicated" design but am intimated on how to go about cutting & ironing it on. Thank you!
Hi Dawn - sure! I layered an Elmo shirt for my son in this video, that will show you how: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vusckGJ_MbY.html
Whiskey I have the cricut joy this is my first time doing any work like this …. Do you know if this is a good version (Cricut) like making vinyl stickers for my resin scrub top projects?
I have a hard time explaining different aspects of the cricut and I wanted to see your cricut technique, and I thought you did an awesome job also my family says that my craft stash well I will just tell you what they call my room they call it Shawn’s mini Michaels my niece made me a sign that says that it was pretty funny yeah but I can’t really tell anybody how much stuff I have it’s bad!!!!!
This is one of the best tutorials I've found, thank you so much for your expertise! Did you say there was somewhere I can go to get the Spotify graphics, my daughter fell in love with that idea, I would like to make something for her, thank you so much!
2 questions - With htv am I understanding correctly that you don’t use transfer tape, that the carrier sheet acts as your transfer tape? And then for the joy you need a card mat, but with the explore you just use your regular mats and paper? You don’t need the inserts they sell?
Hi Whitney 😊 I love your tutorials! 💕 I was wondering once you put the vinyl onto the tumbler or mug, can I put it into the dishwasher or is it hand wash only?
That's a great question! I typically err on the side of hand washing, but I do know people that say they are top rack safe. What I've found is that the smaller the pieces are, the easier they come off in extreme conditions like the dishwasher. So if you have one larger piece, you can try it :)
This is an amazing video Whitney!!! I think you’ve taken some of my fear away with the infusible ink. I have the markers only right now (NEVER USED😂, stocking stuffer and I had no idea how to use them and scared) and I wish I would’ve gotten some of the vinyl last week when it was on sale. I bought Cricut sticker paper and I bought printable iron on, but I really wanted it for shirts. Do you know if Cricut has printable HTV. I was told it was behind the counter at Michael’s, but it was silhouette brand. The associate couldn’t even find it on the website to order! I would love to try that but I’ve only used Cricut everything and wasn’t sure if it was compatible. Well I lie... I did get some target dollar spot vinyl to practice with for dirt cheap when I got my Cricut last year and recently I picked up the really pretty spring packs in rose gold and floral printed/ green. I had to get my Target dollar spot fix and it was only $3.00 but super cute! Thanks for sharing! I’m getting better. I plan on getting a desktop soon , bc it’s just not as easy with my phone! We need a new one for school work, so hopefully I can start selling! I just have to have the confidence in myself and my work as other are when I share my creations. It’s just a hobby right now. Thank you for all of your tips and your amazing svgs! You rock mama! I have to get better with DS but I think that computer will really be a game changer! 🥰❤️
Hmmm I'm not sure if Cricut makes printable HTV. I know they make printable vinyl. You can use another brand with your Cricut if they don't sell it. :)
Hi Whitney, My father recently passed away and He loves lilacs. So my sisters and I are going to be planting lilacs in our yard and I want to make memory stones to put underneath. What is the best thing to use on a stone surface that will last for years? It’s going to be more like a paver stone or stepping stone. With a smooth surface. Thank you
Hi Sandra - I'm so sorry for your loss. I would suggest a stencil and spray painting it on. Then seal with polyacrylic. That will help it last for longer :) If not I'd say to use permanent vinyl and seal with poly acrylic.
Hi Whitney! You used some products from Target for the makeup pouch & the mug. Where did you find the pouch at Target? I want to do HTV on a pouch for my niece for Easter. The one you used has a pretty print. I know Hobby Lobby has blanks.
Hi Anita - The non-Circut blank make up bags were all from Dollar Tree. The black and white canvas ones I just found there last week :) I like Dollar Tree's because of the price and their size compared to Target's. Walmart also has some :)
Excellent presentation. Where were you when I first started? LOL. I follow you for crafts but I would love more Cricut ideas. Can you refer me to previous Cricut videos you have recorded?
Whitney my mats are getting dirty and I was going to buy new ones but then I heard you can clean them? can you maybe do a video about that? I'm loving learning about the cardstock I always use vinyl lol I need to venture out some
You can wash them two ways, either a sink of warm water and Dawn dishwashing liquid, let the mats soak for a bit, and I use a sponge to get everything off, rinse and let dry. Also, the awesome cleaner at the dollar tree is great too, fill a sink with warm water, and awesome, soak and wash and then air dry
Yes, I'm thinking of doing a Cricut tips/hacks video so I can include that. I do what Diane said and clean with water and dish soap. I also use my scraper tool to get off the icky gunk :)
When I got my cricut I got a starter kit of supplies from Amazon called zicato and I loved it all!!! I got actually cricut brand transfer tape and I hate it!! Its soooo hard to get my images off of it! Its really pissing me off lol. I'm gonn have to buy something else to use, Any good options yall suggest?
Hey Evelyn! I like my Cricut Joy. For beginners, I'd suggest either the Joy or the Explore Air 2 - it comes down to the size of projects you'll be doing. The joy is great for smaller surface area cuts and the explore can do up to 12" x 24". If you want to do signs and larger things, I'd suggest the Explore. here's a recent video where I did a break down of their 3 machines and who they would be best for if you'd like to check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ok41V9qr1Pk.html
How does the print and cut feature work? Also, how do the projects work when they are labeled as multiple layers in Design Space? Is there a specific way you like to cut and apply different colors of vinyl for a single project? There are so many tutorials out there, I'm not even sure where to watch to find answers! Lol
Hi there. With the print then cut feature, you sent the design to your printer first and then (using calibration lines from your printer) the machine will then cut out what you printed. In Design Space, if the items are multiple layers that means they will cut on different colors (unless you change it) if you want it to be one color - you can select your design and click "weld" or "attach" in the bottom right to make it 1 layer. Here is a video where I layered 3 layers of vinyl to make a patriotic sing:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3GL5_LEmKQk.html I hope that helps!
Whitney I went back to watch your this video and I also watched a cricut video in infusible ink and followed all the steps and the in does not transfer onto the back adhesive I wasted a box of infusible ink. Can you give me any suggestions?
Whitney where did the image of the one with the woman that says “Cricut Loving...”come from? I have a Cameo 4 but would love this image for a project for a friend who uses Cricut.
The markers that come with the cricut are just for paper right? The infusabke ink pens are different? I am just trying to figure out how to use the markers I got. I know once I get use to this it will be easy but it is intimidating at first.
Hi Kimberly - Yes, that marker is for writing (like on the hair tie cards). The infusible ink pens are a separate purchase and don't come with the machines.
