This video is based on Maths but I've recently had to do an essay for uni on The Garden Movement. Howard wanted no cars in his towns what so ever. He wanted everything to be in walking distance for everything work and shops. It was mostly to do with health. To keep the factories but make the a better environment. It was based on the "Three Magnets" bringing the best of town and country together. However, the left wing social ideas were too new thats why he never found the funding. Oh well.
Holy fuck, this idea was here a long time, Too bad we dont learn it at landscape and architecture school. Jacque Fresco of the Venus project took Howards idea a step further. Look it up
What a waste of effort. It won't be long before no one needs to own a car. Electric bikes or Driverless Electric Air Taxis will ferry us about. Shopping will be delivered. Working from home will increase. I'm sure Ebenezer foresaw all this but just forgot to mention it. 😀
Very interesting video, thanks for explaining it. I'm a firm believer in private property and industry but I also agree with Howard's idea of changing society by voluntarily building an alternative instead of attempting to overthrow the existing structure. It's similar to Agorism.
What if those 6 vehicles delivered the goods to the people. Use your head and come up with solutions to build off the idea. This guy is focusing on all the negatives. What if we did that with your video? Is there anything this guy finds positive of these idea's?
