In a way, the ending is a nod/citation to the ending of the original music video which also gets a comedic relief, when Billie runs back to the table and picks up something she forgot. The whole video feels(to me) like a citation of the original, she plays with puppet clothesm, Puddles eats cake both seem to be lonely and waiting for something. The biggest difference, besides the obvious difference in scenes, is the lip sync in Puddles video.
I sobbed watching this. This was me last year, literally. Alone, in a car, trying to eat a meal which was really just a frozen pie I bought from the store, six hundred miles from my wife, having massive relationship problems, and completely broken. The ending? That somehow makes the whole thing even more sad. Made me remember how I sat there, last year, alone in the car, sobbing that life was just a cruel joke. Thank you Puddles. You help me heal. I love you.
@n.lite.n111 Dude, anything can be crying material if it twangs the right nerve. Apparently it did with this person, and they opened up about it. I think that deserves our respect. Maybe professional therapy would be helpful, if they think they're in the place for it to be, but the ability to be open about one's pain is intrinsically therapeutic. No need to be mean.
Yeah he's an amazing singer but you can't win something like that with this level of costume on. I bet he's doing just fine. I just looked and I see he doing a tour in two countries and 13 shows, or something like that. Great cover singer; I'm not sure what he has that's original; he probably does, I'm just not that familiar. I've listened to most of his stuff so many times at work while I'm doing mundane tasks by myself.
Love Love Love everything Puddles sings. His versions are absolutely beautiful!❤ If you ever get rhe chance to see him live,GO! One of the best shows Ever!
😂 yeah okay in a world with Rob Halford, Freddie Mercury, Corey Taylor, James Hetfield and Eminem ..you think this guy right here has the most amazing voice you've ever heard 😂 that's pitiful dude.
What were you made for? I think you were made to entertain, to make people feel, and to bring people together. I love the cameo at the end. Hiya, Mike!
Billie Ellish and Finneas wrote one of the most consequential songs with "What was I Made For?" I think we alll ask ourselves that question at times. Of course the song was written for the Barbie movie, but for we fans of Puddles, we know it was also written for him and Puddles of course delivered the song beautifully. Thank you Puddles.
I would like to add an Adjective: quintessential This form of the definition is what I was thinking of... "Quintessential means representing the central nature of something"
I think it's funny people like you still believe any of these musicians actually write their own material when all they do is slap their names on a ghostwriters song.
How was it written for him if it was written for Billie Eilish? That's like saying Prince wrote Purple Rain but it was also written for the drunk guy at the karaoke bar too.
@@n.lite.n111 Possibly, but one would need evidence of that. Do you have a name or names of someone who has claimed to have written "What was I Made For?" If so, I will consider myself educated based on evidence.
You enunciate SO WELL that often, your version of a song is the first time I can actually understand all the lyrics. I would have loved you anyway because your voice is great and your interpretations of songs are wonderful, but boy is it a bonus how CLEARLY you sing. Thank you for that. p.s. I saw your concert in Toronto a buncha years back. You came up the centre aisle at the beginning and reached out and touched people's hands on your way to the stage and one of those hands was mine. 😁 I had to reach across a few seats for that, so it's a good thing I have the wingspan of a mighty condor. That was a good night.
Using the windshield wipers as a metronome is BRILLIANT. Keeping it softly in the background throughout the song is beautiful, like Dean Martin's coke bottle clink. Unique, but when hearing it you'll immediately think of the song.
I wear a shirt you sold at shows last year with you...Just, like, brutally screaming with your name on the back. People still stop and say hi because they recognize your face. You're doing so many things right and I couldn't be happier to be a supporter.
I've heard this song dozens of times, and it never impacted me until I saw this video and listened to your vocals. This is why music & art is a wonderful shared commodity. It has the power to reach people in different ways. Thank you ❤
I can't believe my ears. You have an amazing voice and pitch, the clip itself is mesmerizing and the voice, God, how beautifully you sing. I really want to have your songs in my player, thank you!
Puddles, I love the windshield wipers as part of the underlying beat, just as Finneas and Billie would "arrange" the sound ... 😅 Can't wait to see you in Minnesota in October!
It feels like an age since the last Puddles video so, I eagerly watched this and well? It doesn't disappoint. The vocals are clean, crisp and clear and the video is still sincere and simply beautiful. So...... Well done that man 🫶👏👏👏
I know people who post cover songs daily ..why would it take months if he was so talented and didn't have to overprocess his vocals so they still sound mediocre.
I love your voice puddles, I've loved ur voice and clowns sense I was a little boy , and I've somewhat become a sad clown with great sense of humor cuz of clowns like u and I thank u
Nice one Puddles. Sadly I had to stop it halfway through as my bladder was working overtime what with all that water, so I had my very own Piddle Pity Party☺☺
