If you want to see the color on Writer's Blood you need a dry nib too. Otherwise the nib size won't make a difference it will still be extremely dark because it dumps so much ink on the page.
This was a delightful video to watch! I laughed loudly at the swatch mafia comment and couldn’t agree more, swatches are great but you need to get it into a pen to see if it’s really a good match. So true, some inks just vibe with a pen and all of sudden I see a sea glass Estie in my future 😂
I totally feel you on the African Gold comparison - it has to be one of my favorite inks but I always think it is less green leaning than it is, and I really do think it color shifts into the orange on different papers .. is it is a little bit of a chameleon in my opinion. As soon as I get my FWP bottles I decant some into a sample vial to use, as I just know there is a countdown clock already ticking until I spill one of those bottles 🤣
If you like colors slightly in the muddy side - Robert Oster Earth might be interesting with that oversized Esterbrook. This was the first of your videos I’ve seen - love ink talk!!!
Well welcome! Hope you will stick around and I may order a sample and see, I love green and I love brown but sometimes I struggle when it’s a brown with a green undertone, but I think that may just be if it’s a green sheen. It’s a gorgeous ink, thank you for the recommendation!
For the Rocky Top Estie (which is a gorgeous pen).. Van Dieman's Peanut Brittle, Wearingeul Kyonghui, Taccia Koiame, Diamine Autumn Oak, Robert Oster Burned Orange. I also think the ink you have in it is a great match too.
My perfect match is my Estherbrook Estie in petrified forest with ancient copper and a broad nib. I also love Robert Oster African gold and rose gold antigua.
Sheen Machine, to me, is like saying, "I like sheen, give me just sheen" XD It's not that unique or novel, but some folks just like that. I don't. It's too common and simple, but that's just how the chemistry of inks work for red sheen on blue saturation. I prefer a gold sheen on red or orange inks. Green sheen on blue ink would be so cool, but that's not how sheening works, now does it? XD I'd like to see that.
I can’t stand sheening inks. I am thinking of ordering the dilution solution from BPC to see if I can make some of my sheeny bottles of ink usable. No suggestions on ink but the pen is beautiful!
Just FYI it is pronounced Dee - yep. Thanks for the ink reviews. Lots to digest, so will be giving it a second view tomorrow, and obviously going on an ink buying spree :)
@@arliemoses4272 that is super funny because I googled it looked at the color was like that’s gorgeous and didn’t even notice that it said Monteverde because right next to it was a bottle of Dine something thank you for clarifying because I would’ve gone back to look for it and thought I had lost my mind
