My love for Elvis started in 1955. Dad was in the Marines on his days off he and Mom were backup singers for shows in the area. Dad played guitar and they both sang. One day in May they were hired for a show in Asheville NC. They performed and then we were backstage and this guy comes over, shakes my Dad’s hand saying “Hi I’m Elvis Presley and I enjoyed your show”. My Dad introduced my Mom, then Elvis looked down at me saying “Who’s the little darlin?” He picked me up and kissed me on my forehead and cheek. Mind you, I’m 3 yrs old, and Elvis is fairly unknown at this time. The only thing I remember is his eyes. My parents told I kept asking for weeks could we go see the pretty man. My first time going to Graceland was 1967. Elvis was home but didn’t come down to the gates. I married a sweet man who was an Elvis fan as well. We saw him in concert 5 times including 12/31/76 in Pgh. That’s where I met Elvis the 2nd time. It was on the tarmac at the airport. He was so kind and I got another kiss and a hug. We spent 3 days at Graceland on that devastating day when he passed and stood in that long line to see him. I’m an old lady now but I will never forget my brief encounters with Elvis. I have an Elvis FB group with 55K members and I love to share the great stories about him.

I love Elvis’s laughter. Whenever I’m feeling down I put on the laughing version of “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” and I feel sunny again. I also share his love for films.

I love that Elvis was a generous and humble soul. If we all lived like Elvis, the world would be such a wonderful place to be. I only met Elvis through his music and movies, but grew up studying who he was. I was only a baby when he passed, born in October of ‘75. My first favorite song was “Hound Dog”, of course. Growing up and absorbing every bit of information on him as a result of that early admiration is what helped me to mold who I am. If Elvis only knew how much he means to so many and the influence he’s had on millions upon millions of people. I will tell you this, though. I was not expecting to feel his presence when I walked through the doors of Graceland the first time, but, boy did I! I’ve never felt anything like it before or since. I felt like he welcomed me himself into his home. I’ve been twice, before Ben and Lisa’s passing and then shortly after we lost Lisa. The exhibits changed so much and were so amazing to see. Especially the walls of suits and other clothes of his. There will never be another Elvis, ever. There are plenty who’ve tried. But, they all fall short. Rest in heaven, Elvis. I know Lisa was happy to see her daddy, again.

I can tell you a story a Catholic priest told me. The priest took a woman to see him. From a car accident the week before, she was in a wheelchair and pretty banged up but was let out of the hospital to see him for that night. She had begged her doctor. Elvis asked her what happened and he had his guards bring her on stage wheelchair and all and he sang to her for a bit. How kind is that? As for me, I saw him in NYC and I swear he glowed. He looked like an angel. He made the fans feel special just for coming. So humble.

I’ve been to Graceland in 2001. I saw him in concert at 18 and have my unused ticket to see him a year later but he went to Heaven four days before. I was so devastated, loving him since about five years old. I could hardly function for about a week 😢 The world just wasn’t the same. I know I’ll see him when it’s my time to go to Heaven❤ I also believe he’s looking down now knowing how much he’s loved and missed ❤ ELVIS FANS MATTER ❣️❣️

Danielle, thank you for keeping the channel going all on your own. You are a busy mom, wife and working full time. You are so sweet and polite. I love that Elvis loved gospel music and he was soooo handsome. I am the same age as Ginger Alden and when I was 22 years old I could not imagine dating a man 20 years older than me. I suppose she was mesmerized by his stature.

Oh I love the stories about Elvis having a big heart and wanting to help people. I love the story your Nanny & Pawpaw tell about when Elvis helped a man and woman that had firewood on the back of thier old truck and thier truck was broken down on the side of the road. Elvis tried to push thier truck with his limo. 😅❤ He tried to jump start thier truck, but it didn't work. So Elvis goes and buys them a brand new truck and gets the guys to unload the firewood off the old truck onto the new truck. I just love those kinds of stories about Elvis. ❤ I love the story about Joe M. that was in Elvis' band. Someone had broken into Joe's house in Nashville. When Elvis found out what was going on, he was ready to take charge. TCB and TLC⚡️❤ I love hearing about the story when he gave your grandparent's thier house and even bought furniture for it. Those are some of my favorite stoies. I could just picture all those things like that happening. I imagine there were times when Elvis got aggravated just like all the rest of us do at times. Like you said, he was a human being with feelings. I also love hearing that he loved reading his Bibles. I wish we could see all of them and all the things he wrote in them. There's no telling what all was going through his mind at the time. I wish Graceland would share more details about that. Not just one or two books, but all of them. That's so interesting to me and I'm sure other fans would love it too. Too bad ya'll are not in control of all those things. I'm sure we would get to see even more fun things like that if ya'll were in control of Graceland. Thank You Danielle for letting us share our thoughts... !! I love ya'll and have a great week. ❤❤❤

HIM! His personality. His kindness. His love for the Lord and the courage to bring straight gospel music to all his concerts including Sin City, and ask the audience and accomplish the audience to be silent and listen. To humbly acknowledge Jesus was the King. That took guts, faith and love for the Lord.. . His pleasure in giving, His heroism sticking up for the Sweet Inspirations in Texas when they told Elvis they rather not sing and Elvis said -“No Sweets No Elvis!” His love for animals (getting all those puppies from the shop), going the extra mile to save his dog Getlo, His sensitivity, his humility.. His interest in all forms of spirituality. Being a good son, father, family, cousin, friend, pet owner. His generosity. His tenderness. His eyes, smile, smirk, lips, laugh, facial expressions. His voice, his dance moves, EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Danielle, I remember hearing back in the late 60s early 70s an interview with ELVIS where he once said to let people know he was just an ordinary person! He said something like! Sometimes we are tired, but we still go to work. I can only imagine that sometimes Elvis felt this way going on his many tours too. He was a person who was caring and knew that others depended on him a great deal. He also never tired of trying a new path, in both his career and personal interests. In those ways, he is inspirational. I only wish he could have been around longer.

I liked thst elvis had a very generous heart and treated people with love and caring he didnt care what color a person's skin was he loved everyone equally, I saw a video elvis a generous heart where they tell the story elvis heard a little boy was in the hospital dying from cancer and couldn't come to his concert so an hour before elvis concert elvis went to the hospital to see this little boy and elvis was wearing a cross around his neck he took the cross off and gave it to this little boy. When I heard that story it gave me goose bumps just knowing that elvis took time to go see this boy before he went on stage..and there's so many stories where elvis gave to others , you just don't see many famous people go that extra mile for someone they don't even know. Buy elvis did he had such a big loving and caring heart and never asked for anything in return and to me that's why I admire elvis and it makes Me love him even more and im glad to be a elvis fan...

I could not take my eyes off him, he was so good looking, such magnetism, and an aura that was unearthly. And he sang with such soul and passion, put everything into every song for his fans. I love his kindness and his generosity to everyone he met. I loved that he cared. I love his faith in our Lord. I loved that he was always so humble and thought everyone mattered. I loved that he wondered would people remember me, can you believe Elvis thinking people would forget him. I think he didn't realize how special he was, our Elvis. Like our parents, once they’re gone the stories are gone, in regard to family. Billy and Jo are the only ones left, pretty much that have all the stories and knew Elvis so well. We need to soak up all this knowledge while they are here. I live in Canada and had to be 21 to go to shows in the states. I was 17 when he died and my friends older sisters were going to see him in Vegas. I was on the count down for years to turn 21 so I could go. Unfortunately like I said he passed when I was 17. So sad I never got to go sad😢 but I live vicariously through your parents stories of him. Thank you for keeping these podcasts going in their absence. I sure hope that they are ok; it’s been awhile now. I liked the way he cared about strangers, there will never be another who was so generous, as he was. He also cared about the people in his life, even the ones that everyone loves to hate, I believe he cared about them too. I also believe in god and I believe his spirit is still with us and I don’t believe he would like people speaking bad about the people he has loved in his life. I have left many sites because it made me feel uneasy. Even though you guys on here will critic films, I never hear your grand dad ever really say anything bad about the people that were in his life and left it. I believe that is what Elvis would have wanted. Billy and Jo always protect his image, which they should. He may not have been perfect, but Elvis did more for people than anyone on the face of this earth. Yes, Taylor Swift gives a lot to food banks etc. but to actually walk up to someone and buy them a car or a new wheel chair on a private level and see where and who your money goes to, you just can’t buy that kind of human behaviour. There will never be another Elvis! Thank you for reading my long winded message. Love this podcast!

I like his way of thinking about life and all the challenges, we face in life , the interviews he gave early on in the late fifties and sixties, he seemed so wise , you could tell just by listening to him talk that he was someone you would love to have as a friend! Elvis was such a kind Soul , and could be easily hurt by his close relationships though it be a man or woman! then at the same time knowing all this l never could figure out “ though “ how he could so quickly get over one love in jump right into another as if it was his very first time being in love ! some one like Billy Smith can you shed some light on this ? “ did he ever give you the secret?
