What was life actually like on the Killer Folk's planet? (All Tomorrows Theory/Lore) 

All Tomorrows lore is great. An All Tomorrows continuation or sequel would be nice

Just a theory of mine The reason why the Gravitals had to directly invade the Killer Folk's planet is because they developed a super powerful weaponry but it was strictly restricted in case of an alien invasion, that way the Killer Folks could destroy the arks that blocked their sun and the asteroids the Gravitals were throwing to their planet, leaving the Gravitals with no options but direct confrontation, and that was the most fierce, important and monumental battle the Killer Folks have ever fought in their history... A battle they eventually lost. The book doesn't say if any planet could put up a minimum of resistance, but I like to think that the Killer Folks could partly fight back

Bug facers: *"INVADERS! WHAT DO YOU WANT!? LAND? RESOURCES?"* The gang of killer folk that showed up outta nowhere with far more advanced weapons: *"Your skulls."*

I love that theory behind why the bug facers are xenophobic. That in on it’s own would make for a cool story.

I can imagine some of the cultures incorporating the hunt ethos, a God with two Faces - God the Hunter and God the Hunted, maintaining the Balance of numbers. Or, maybe a Ministry of the Hunt, where members can engage in controlled Hunts not just of animals but each other, one way to keep feuds and wars in check. Also, a tradition of duels could develop.

I think early killer folk first contact would be violent but once the alliance was formed. They were not allowed to kill members of the alliance. Also since the killer folk possibly invaded the bug facers. It would make sense why they never joined due to there past truama with the killer folk

I would love to see the dimorphism of all the All Tomorrows aliens, because if we we're to be relatively realistic, these singular images wouldn't be completely representative of their entire race. Consider humans with how diverse we are from skin tone, height, face shapes, culture, etc. but we used the Mona lisa to represent the entire race. I feel the same can be said with Killer folk. And maybe we can expand on their culture, possibly a smaller culture (due to their innate sense of killing; therefore a minority) actually was trying to create movements of moving forward without death and murder. Maybe they were considered "handicapped" for it which was actually discriminatory ignorance or something. I feel this channel is perfect for making all these kinds of theories so thank you for making more All Tomorrows content!

I always imagined them seeking out more challenging animal prey on other planets or genetically engineering their own game creatures. The book doesn't really make it clear if they prioritize the actual taking of sentient life or if they do it for the physical and mental challenge of hunting a crafty and resilient prey.

I'd love to see a lore video on the Colonials/Modular people

I believe it was stated or implied they changed their philosophical outlook before their version of the 'modern' era. Maybe around their industrial revolution. Their version of the french revolution. This is what allowed them to start cooperating enough to get higher techhnology.

There was a Deep Space Nine episode called Tosk. Tosk was a prey subspecies being hunted by another related subspecies. As the episode progresses, we find out he enjoys his role as prey keeping ahead of and outwitting the hunters. He said he was living the greatest adventure of his life. I could see the Killer Folk breeding special prey like this. Usually the hunter wins but sometimes the prey wins. Such a death would be as honorable as any other. This is in keeping with the idea of if you go out to kill someone, you must also put yourself in the same potentially dangerous position otherwise you are a coward.

This was great. Now I am curious as to how life for the Tool Breeders or Saurosapients was like.

It'd be interesting to see what kind of blades and weapons they would've used that accomidated their unique hand shapes.

It would be interesting to see a scenario like this where the killer folk chose to keep their ancient practices, but just kept it to themselves, maybe they could have survived the gravitals invasion since they would have had another 40 million or so years of weapons advancement, and wouldn't have stagnated due to their new founded pacifism

Maybe, the Killer Folk formed were the elite troop for the great empire army, as well, many Killer Folk served as interplanetary mercenaries involving in many post human inner conflicts

I think the story of the Killer Folk is a really hopeful one. These guys had their predatory instincts ramped up like crazy and STILL managed to not blow themselves up. And they even did this while still retaining the capacity to throw down when necessary, and not going totally pacifist. (I mean, I personally think they were a lot more ready to fight the Gravitals than anyone else and I like to think they gave the Gravitals a very serious bloody nose that no one else did, before they were finally wiped out.) That's kind of a lesson for us to take for ourselves and our current version of humanity. I like to imagine they have very strong laws and codes surrounding fighting and hunting, once they civilize themselves, but there are still sanctioned outlets for those instincts. I would think violence would be allowed within the confines of those codes but strongly penalized otherwise. Think of a ramped-up version of the ethics courses hunters are expected to take in the US before getting hunting licenses. Those who take things out of season, use the wrong means or methods, or in the case of people, coerce or blackmail someone or their friends/family to force them into a duel, or cheat to win, are severely sanctioned. You can also think of the unwritten "Code" in hockey governing fighting as an example too, of how we in this world allow and regulate fighting. I imagine for hunt/blood-sport violations, public humiliation would be a massive thing for violators because dishonor would probably be seen as even worse than death. I imagine these guys would be a great fan of punishments like the stocks and the pillory with a label containing your crime hung around your neck, or maybe when they become more civilized, displaying the violator for public shaming in a clear weapons-proof box for weeks before then exiling them with a mark that will not let them re-enter society (or even be killed honorably), kind of a Cain's mark.

But from the creature studies, the author of the book (not alien) displayed a killer folk employee monitoring genetically modified prey (the post human) since they have been in the same world as the killers and were their predators when they lost sapience

I imagine, australian outback, revolvers and shotguns. Also if u dont notice, a killer folk's hand is the same configuration as a koala's hand, thats a hint from the author that killer folks lore is based from australians.

It says in all tomorrows that the posthuman species never interacted in any way other than radio communication. Also the killer folk became fairly peaceful factory farmers before they attained space travel

I imagine Killer folk traveling the ol' west with heards of domesticated Prey, and when it's time to eat they would let one loose and chase it through the night only to kill it with their bare hands, and if the killer was in the mood for it, feeling rather in touch with their roots, they might just eat it right then and there without bothering to cook it. I also imagine that they had their sense of pride in their ability to hunt. If a member of the killer folk failed to catch their prey on the simulated hunt, they simply would not eat that night, considering themself unworthy of a meal.

Sword duels could be an inspiration from Spain, Italy and France. As would Baldassare Castiglione The Book of the Courtier from Italy. These two elements are in the Killer Folk culture. The Aristocratic Gentleman personified in the flesh. Whether or not Della Casa's Galateo would be influential here is unknown. Maybe towards their own kind it was. Galateo is about Manners.
