I understand you 100%. I served in the military and I have a lot of conditions that got worse with time also due to the military not providing me with enough care. They always give you pills to hide the pain but they never provided me with the correct treatment or rest. Now I’m dealing with all this pains all over my body. I also got cancer due to the exposure in deployment I went thru many surgeries and therapy and the one that is helping me the most is my mental one. Thanks God now I’m able to return to the gym and do some workouts and getting back in shape little by little but I listen to my body and mind.
Wish you all the best! As I have been dealing with almost the exact same problems for over 6 years now. It was back in autumn in 2014 when i was at the end of my cutting and was about to start bulking, but i got sick and even while being sick for months i kept working out (wasnt able to take a rest for more than a week and then came back to training even while still feeling sick). After some time that approach led to injuring my knees (ligaments as well as tendons) at the beginning of 2015. So i decided to keep training my upper body and still some light work for my lower body, but i still wasnt recovered from the virus i had got a couple of months ago. BUT like a month after injuring my knees, i injured my elbows. I kept training but was weaker and weaker and the pain was sharper and sharper and eventually i decided to stop working out and take a rest as i wasnt able to brush my teeth or even hold my phone anymore etc...didnt know what was going on back then, now i know, that i injured my tendons, both outer and inner elbow tendons and triceps tendon too on both of my arms. I visited a couple of doctors back then but they did not help me, so i thought that i will recover by taking a rest for a couple of months, but that led to losing all the muscle strenght i had and the pain and weakness was still there + i got extremely stiff, and due to all of that i injured both of my Achilles tendons and rotator cuffs in shoulders just by simple stretching, like a year after injurying my knees and elbows...I have been in constant pain since then, both physically and mentally. I had to quit my dream school several times, because i wasnt able to do all the work physically. I have been through hell.... But right now, i am 25, living with my parents, because of all of that, not being able to work nor study and still have to do some 4 hours of physio work 4 times a week as i need to get some basic strenght (i used to do way, way more recovery work daily, thankfully dont have to do that anymore). But it is extremely hard to get stronger (normal person's level of strenght, not gym guy's level), when i re-injure my tendons very easily several times per year. Biggest problem are still mainly my elbows and Achilles tendons, shoulders and knees are almost fine. But overally, i have made some progress in the last 18 months and have been feeling better, but i am still far away from getting back to normal and living normal life. I had to give up competing after doing quite well at 25 with several injuries, I’m 40 now and still training around different issues, you just have to keep plodding on. Stopping completely is the worst thing to do as I’ve found out in this lock down with my tennis elbow/ bicep problems. Good luck with the future, don’t give up hope, but when you do eventually get round to full training don’t get greedy with the weights, take it easy, keep all the band work up etc do movements that suit your body, don’t fight against it.I had to ditch squats, deadlifts, overhead pressing of anytype, barbell rows, wide grip chins and dips.. My best lifts were squats, dead’s and seated military presses, but I’d rather be still training into old age.
@@scottw3780 Thank you...Yep, the worst things were not stopping working out immediately, when i got injured and even worse was that i had no movement for almost a year, when i decided to rest and lost all the basic strenght because of that...I have obviously had to change my life priorities as i have been doing my physio with no more than 3lbs weights, so obviously, being a strong guy again is not my future and i have already put up with it....just want to live a normal life like 99 % of people i meet.
I had elbow golfer and tennis issues and recovered. Keep going, you will be normal and train again. I just rested 1 year then cold warm therapy, low weight high reps for 6 months very humble easy shit and got better no pain

I got bad tennis elbow been lifting for over 15 years. I got mine from bench pressing to heavy and rowing to heavy. I also had a very weak grip. It took almost a year to be better, but it will never be 100% I get occasional pains when I'm lifting or grasping an object. I just don't lift less then 6 reps anymore and don't go to failure on every set either. I keep my reps a lot higher now. I remember going to the ER twice because I couldn't even pick up a pillow or coffee cup. I thought I was going to need surgery, it was one of the worst experiences I ever had. I was so depressed. I bought the flexbar and focused more on forearm exercises and I started to notice Improvement. I feel this mans pain.

No. It's simply from overtraining. It has happened to me when I started I was skinny as fuck copying my friends routine and they were advanced so a lot of volume. I had to stop for a full year just as I started getting some gains and I was never the same even after physio can't say I have recovered it's been 5 years since the Pain is still here. Learned to train with it but the results are missing you can't really train a muscle group more than once a week. it sucks .I would say genetics I have seen people overtrain waaaaay more than I did for waaay longer than I did and still be in perfect shape.
Hi Lazar, I really believe Accutane was one of the reasons that you have this issue. I had the exact same problem while training heavy and taking Accutane (Known as Roaccutane here in Croatia). I remember getting sore from the deadlifts so much that I couldn't get out of the bed. Nowadays, I have minor joint issues, but I don't go as hard as I used to. It's hard to tell whether Accutane is the main reason, but it surely played a part. Greetings from Croatia, you are very inspirational.
Same here. Took accutane for 5 years (im from germany). Started with tendon pain in achilles tendons on both feet. Both feet were swollen for years. Eventually they had to do surgery because the bone in my ankle joints started to die and get necrotic. Well that was like 6 months ago. It got even worse. Now i have inflamtion in almost all my joints and tendons in the body. Went to at least 10+ doctors. Now i am on imunnesuppressive medication because they think it might be rheumatoid arthritis. Even tho my blood work show now signs of RA and noone in my family has any rheumatoid disease. I still believe its the years of accutane use..
Took accutane for two years while heavy lifting and in best shape of my life. Got a lot of PR’s in that time but accutane never affected my tendons or ligaments. I was sure to be on a low dose 20mg-70mg a week. Its a fantastic drug for me personally and I did tons of research on it. The problems come because most doctors prescribe the ancient dosage protocol to new patients which is too much and too toxic. The regimen wasn’t been updated in 40 years Low dose is the future

I have seen some people who got naturally thin skin, naturally they cant hold enough water in their body and drinking Only 2 cups of black coffee a day make them immediately dry and often pain in the joints while training..

The keyboard, the mouse, the smartphone they are killer for the tendons, I also do not suggest putting your elbow on the arm of your chair, it's a constant pressure on your tendon. I remember my dermatologist recommended Accutane to me over 15 years ago because I had really bad acne. I didn't take it after I saw all the side effects. I got clear skin only recently. One of my friends who took the drug has some back issues that could be related.

Recovery is everything. If in doubt train lighter or just take a day off. Cycle between heavy and lighter. Do what you can maintain consistently. Trust me, if you understood sometimes less is more, like me, at 61, you'll still be in the gym injury free and with a high quality of life. If youre a competitor, please still look after your body. I personally don’t believe in a lot of doctors, but I do believe in some & I definitely believe in sport science. I feel many doctors can’t grasp the understanding of athletic causations, both biological and kinesthetic. What good is all the anatomical study if you don’t know how to use it, how to use your own body? Were you aware that plyometrics build tendon stiffness? Stiffness meaning strength, elasticity, stability. Knees, elbows and ankles. That’s why box jumps are so good for knees and achilles. It’s crazy to think hop push-ups might’ve been a simple remedy you needed & they never thought to suggest it. I know what pain he is talking about because I also got this pain when I took Accutane. I couldn’t even walk without having pain in my knees I saw that wet cupping and diet helped lower the inflammation in my joints.

im going through a niggle atm i was leaning on my desk and felt a nerve zing and my elbow feels strange. i have loads of issues. for me it started with a rounded shoulder, then groin i did a leg press and strained groin. ive got a problem my knee my dominant leg is just shit and my left leg became dominant because strength in right side went. i might be moaning about nothing but i know how it feels to not be able to train to a certain standard.

Had fell out of shape working all the time, had 4 months off work so I decided to get in shape while I was off work dieting down eating 1500 calories a day. Hi, I have a similar problem jut with mine elbows. Every time I do arm wrestling I had a really big pain in mine elbow for some days I almost cant use mine arms for forces that are like in arm wrestling. But there are some opinions for me I found workout aimed to tendons in elbow. It was a little workout and little physiotherapy but it helps a lot.
