I think floors versatility is what stands out most to me when compared to other singers. She can sing in almost any style, sound legit doing it, and in 8 different languages. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but every song in this performance (Wacken 2013) was written for one of the previous two singers and she made them all her own.

Great reaction - I enjoyed seeing the happy wonder in your eyes. I wish I could be in your shoes (as a new initiate to Nightwish) so I could experience that first journey of discovery once again, but second best is seeing others enjoy is. Plenty of pleasant Nightwish surprises lie in store for you. You've seen 2 of their longer songs but they pack a lot into the shorter ones too.

Thank you for another lovely reaction! Nightwish were the headline act at Wacken Open Air Festival in 2013. That crowd they are playing to is around 82,000 people. Floor had only been with the band for around 10 months when they performed that show. This was her introduction to Europe as the lead vocalist with Nightwish. If you're interested, during covid Floor actually did a reaction video of this specific performance of Ghost Love Score. It has some great background on how she was feeling, as she was also performing for the largest crowd she had ever had at that time. Your reaction to this tells me you would really enjoy Floor's own video in which she explains all the vocal choices she made throughout this performance. It is available on her own YT channel and is well worth watching for someone like you. As to the lyrics, the story outline is told in the choral part which starts "IF you be the one to cut me THEN I'll bleed forever" and in the ending changes to "You WERE the one to cut me SO I'll bleed forever". A song of the ghost of love, not of the love of a ghost 🙂 Something like 18 modulations in this song and Floor, 10 months into het time with the band, and not yet a permanent member, sings it flawlessly. She even added her own ending - the original didn't have the dramatic ending, which she introduced, with Tuomas' approval, shortly after joining the band and which is now standard (though she varies it very slightly in most performances). As to America, you won't catch Nightwish on tour anywhere for some time as the new album coming on September 20th is not going to be supported by a tour, unusually for Nightwish. But, as it happens, they have played 125 shows in the US, 20 in Mexico and 36 in Canada so the North American continent is not a stranger to Nightwish live, though few Americans seem aware of them. And you still haven't reached my top 6 even with this one which may give you some idea of how good they are, but cannot prepare you for the number 1 masterpiece which will come later.

Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. Not an actual pipe organ. Just a fancy keyboard stand (and wine rack!). He has a couple of Korg synthesizer boards back there. And a bottle of cabernet sauvignon. It is modelled after a famous sculpture on the grounds of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland.

When you want to go further on the path of our 1.83m (6ft.+) tall Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen(Yansen). Tour at first as their second singer Annette got ill, Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour. 'Please learn the setlist in 48 hours Floor joined Nightwish after this iconic Wacken concert in 2013 as permanent member of the band. She even made a video reacting to herself singing Ghost Love Score at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish Also her Fan Friday videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of these and other presents she left on her channel. Also videos of her solo tour she did with songs of her impressive career. Her latest endeavour is her stunning solo album 'My Paragon. Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band Sabaton) daughters Freja (turned 7 years this march) and Lucy (born last october) ,a couple of horses, dogs and cats. G'day from OZ! Sure you ain't part Aussie? Top reaction! Tuomas' keyboard stand (the pipes) used to shoot flames and fireworks. Best damn gig of the decade - maybe the Century! Floor really is the mother of 2 girls - Freya and Lucy - in Norse mythology, her being the mother of Freya makes her the Goddess Nerthus (like Gaia!) big lungs! This was 13 of 15 songs! Stamina too! The tour was 572 days long for the guys! I think you know why they call Tuomas THE Metal Mozart!!

Hello Amie! Thank you for this great reaction. It was such fun seeing your face, your enthusiasm, your laughter when the band did something unexpected. It made me smile throughout. The pipes around the keyboards are a tribute to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. They resemble his monument in Helsinki which consist of 600 welded pipes together in a wavy movement. I hope you will react to "She's my sin" from this Wacken concert. Just before they did this song Marko, the bassist, introduced Floor to the audience as it was the first time a lot of people in Europe got to see and hear her. During the first 2 songs the crowd was a bit in an wait-and-see mood but when NW started "She's my sin" the crowd exploded more or less. I really like the vibe in this song. I've been on the Nightwish journey for more than twenty years, I've been to Live concerts of each of their vocalists several times, and yet they still impress me. Because Ghost Love Score has so many views it is often the first song of Nightwish re-actors view. It's one of so many many songs from this concert and several other concerts. Nightwish is one of those rare bands that is best Live. Their studio work and music videos can't capture the energy and how much fun the fans are having. If Gabriel hasn't contacted you yet with his band info and a play list you can use to help your way down the rabbit hole, he will soon. @@Amiekinz4ever , no she stepped in in the middle of their American tour in late 2012 to replace their singer Anete Olzone. She finished the tour with them, she had been made a permanent member before this concert, she is still very new, complicated songs, & this audience didn’t know she was now in the band, but quite evident they were in love! There is a NW documentary, called "Please Learn the Setlist is 24 Hours' about this time.... enter Floor, on a sabbatical from burnout! AmaZing story.

This song is something special. Those transitions are really great, Floors demonstration of power, tone, clean sound, classical elements, all of them just focused 100%, everything is just top class. It cant be better than this. And her scream et the end-damn. Fans call that Floorgasm (Floor hitting those high notes). Nightwish is spectacular

That organ looking contraption is Tuomas' keyboard stand/wine rack. 🙂 This song, like many of them, is quite complex musically. It's performed in 5 keys and I think there are about 15 key changes. There's a reactor on YT who is a composer. He breaks down the song very well. I'll post a link if I can find it again. I love complicated compositions which is probably why this is my favorite band. I'd say Dream Theater is a close second on that list. Good to see you're continuing this journey!

The very best live performance of all times performed by the very best band in combination with the very best Female singer in this part of the universe. Floor is unique. She tears you up. Eternal goosebumps. Chills beyond imagination. Try everything from her. And try everything from Nightwish. And of course she participates in that other epic project called Ayreon, together with all those other Goddesses like Simone Simons, Anneke van Giersbergen, Irene Jansen ( her sister), Marcela Bovio etc etc etc. And yes, the Dutch metal and progrock scene will blow your mind. And yes, Marko Hietala ( the former bass player from Nightwish) can be found within Ayreon as well. Life is Beautiful. Check out "the greatest show on earth " from Nightwish as well. You must re-listen to The Greatest Show on Earth later on, on this journey - here it is obvious to you how she is a part of the sound effects (growling, high humming eg). I would also suggest Ayreon for amazing live performances with a variety of singers and instrumentalists. *Just -The day that the world breaks down- I would recommend the non-live version. As the selection of singers suits the song a lot better + all the amazing trivia included in the official music vid.

And miss A I wish that you consider to react to nightwishs sister band wintersun from Finland. I would recommend to start off with wintersun 1.5 official lyric video. And after that wintersun time live rehearsal video at Sonic pump studio in Helsinki Finland. So may you begin your wintersun rabbit hole as well where if you think about it if you do react and analize to wintersun think of all of wintersun fans that will become your new subscribers that will help your channel grow that way.
