Dehya was just circling names for fun game and later confessed to Candace. I was happy with the friendship between Sumeru people. Dehya and Cyno friendship is endearing for me. As well as the brotherly bond between Cyno and Sethos. The summertime events were fun and we even got a chance to have Kirara outfit.

It's ironic that we're trying to decipher the hidden meaning in a quest that seems to be specifically telling us not to do that... but I do think that's more or less the point. Overanalyzing can ruin the experience sometimes, and not every single detail holds meaning, though it's inevitable that people want to try to figure out deliberately obfuscated lore. I thought the weirdest part was the quest didn't give us a copy of the book afterward. Maybe it's because it's about Simulanka, or maybe they just don't want further irony from us picking apart the book itself. Nahida being the only person looking for the unmarked copy sure is suspicious, and this wouldn't be the first time they've conspicuously *not* let us read an ingame book (still waiting on volume 2 of Pale Princess and the Six Pygmies). There's no escape from speculation.
Absolutely nothing bad about using red herrings to obfuscate foreshadowing. Part of keeping an audiences interest is keeping them guessing the story direction. Roads to nowhere can be forgiven if they somehow still explore relevant ideas and themes. Just don't change major events just for the surprise factor if the audience already guessed whats coming. Good story execution still needs to holdup on replays. Its also like an award for being an attentive audience.
I loved it! It was the perfect distraction from the emotionally heavy Simulanka story and the looming Natlan conflict. Sometimes you just need a random light-hearted, humorous story in a lore heavy game. Makes the world a little bit more alive.
I saw it as a way to include the entire Sumeru cast in this patch. The only time we got to see some of the Sumeru cast in 4.x was Cyno’s second story quest and a couple in Emilie’s. Past that, we didn’t have a Sumeru specific event. I saw this as a way to make up for that. All the other regions got their specific event. Liyue had Lantern Rite and the Poetry event, Mondstadt had the alchemy event, Fontaine had Thelxie’s Fantastic Adventures, and Inazuma had the Itto event. There was no specific Sumeru event for us to see the characters from that nation.
@@arreis7866and that is exactly what the comment is talking about. It has been more than a year after Sumeru being a big deal, so having them appear as the closing quest for the summer event that is not necessarily theirs
1:38 "I thought it weird to have no voice acting" 1:49 "I enjoyed seeing so many characters" You answered yourself ;D Even though Hoyo has infinite money, i guess the logistics of getting all these voice actors was not optimal enough to get them all in time for the quest.
i find particularly nice to have nice little quests where people the mc knows are there interacting with the world, heck there are 60+ characters that are known to be actively doing their own stuff in game and yet we hardly see the 8~18 characters that have a fixed residence and dont move around too far away from it. so for me its nice to see hoyo finaly not being too hung up on needing to have voiced characters to be voiced in every quest.
you gotta factor in that the have had to just dealt with recordings of natlan in that timeframe, and hiring almost the full cast of sumeru for just a 'side' gag was probably overreaching, even for hoyo
@@TV-MA.x_x. Dude. The voice actors are people, you know. It takes a lot out of a person's voice to make that many lines, and besides, you don't know what they're working on in the background that could be taking up all of the voice actors' time. Chill out.
I did this event before the Bedtime Story quest, so the theme of forging your own destiny after the "gods" responsible for the creation of the world are long gone was fresh in my mind. What if Teyvat IS a Simulanka... just in a much larger scale. How long before we are literally hanging stars in the sky above Teyvat?
I'm 90% sure Teyvat is a physical version of a simulation. Instead of having a computer simulate a world, the "gods" of Teyvat isolated a section of a planet and imposed rules on it using the ley lines. The ley lines determine what is and isn't true in the world. The ley lines are equivalent to a line of code in a simulation. I think they only isolated a section of the planet to do this to for a few reasons. 1: Not a lot of people know this, but Teyvat isn't actually the planet, it's more like a continent. I forget where it's mentioned, but I specifically remember a book saying that creatures were banished outside Teyvat, implying Teyvat is just a part of the planet. 2: We KNOW that in some way, somehow, the sky is fake. I think this is completely literal. I think it's a dome. Did you know, that despite having an understanding of astronomy and even an understanding of space time, the scholars of Teyvat don't know if the world is round or flat? They're trying to figure out and simply cannot. Now consider this. If one were to try and measure the curvature of the Earth while encased in a dome, wouldn't that give them conflicting results? Measurements for the curvature made on the ground would display a significantly smaller slope than measurements made using the sky. The dome would be significantly smaller than the actual planet, and so it would appear to be the sky of a smaller planet as well, which would fudge the numbers. This would lead to confusion on what the shape of the planet actually is. Also, in Fontaine, there's a quest in the Melusine village where you get a glimpse of what the world will be like when the abyss encroaches. There is something really important about that glimpse. In the sky, where the abyss is presumably encroaching from, is a crack. The sky is literally cracking open and the abyss is pouring in from outside. Assuming that this prophecy is showing what the world will literally look like, and not just a metaphor or exaggeration, this would imply again that Teyvat is surrounded by a dome. Also, traveler mentions Teyvat has a really short day/night cycle. That would make sense if a small dome is surrounding it and the sun is inside said dome, or, more likely, is a projection on the dome made to look 3D when it is actually not. I think the abyss wants to encroach, because the abyss is the DEFAULT for the planet. The planet isn't SUPPOSED to have ley lines deciding what is and isn't real. It's not supposed to be so orderly and it's not supposed to be stuck in a cycle. By the way, Teyvat is stuck in a cycle. This is actually confirmed in a book in Fontaine. If I recall I think the book said Teyvat is on its... Fourth cycle? The same story is told over and over, just with different characters. 7 nations with 7 rulers, a nation gets too advanced, the heavenly principles kick in, a cataclysm happens, and new rulers and new nations are created. This is the story the ley lines and celestia work together to repeat over and over. And Teyvat is overdue for a cataclysm. Multiple nations have become very advanced, and rules are being broken left and right. The simulation is breaking down. We see this through the increasing power of the abyss and the various forms of corruption encountered in different regions.
Names are important in Natlan, living up to whoever you're named after & names being forgotten because they were no longer honorable. The quest felt like a series of fetch quests, making you have to travel all over Sumeru, & I'm worried if we're getting quests padded out in Natlan. The book's story is worrying because everyone says it's nonsensical, I hope the actual Natlan archon quest isn't like that.
They *did* say they were changing up the way they’d be telling their archon quest stories going forward. To me there’s always a lot of improvement to make when it comes to how genshin chooses to deliver their story beats but damn lol I say buckle ur seat belt because it might be exactly what you’re worrying about.
@@iosis9324 honest to god I’ll let you know once I can confirm where. I just have a very vivid memory of them confirming that. If someone does remember please reply because I know I’m not crazy 😭
@@The1andonlysharpshooter Maybe your brain created a fake memory because of the news about the departure of one of Genshin's screenwriters? Recently, sometime in April, one of the genshin screenwriters left hoyoverse, but before that, he spoiled Natlan AQ a little, confirming a couple of theories (Like that theory that Dottore will burn Irminsul), said how they write the plot for years to come and that we are players in Fontaine only 30% of the entire genshin story. So maybe because of this news about the departure of one of the screenwriters, your brain thought that Hoyo would change the way they tell AQ and created a fake memory about it?
You know, I'd like to see Mihoyo develop the "three stories about defeating the dragon all being right" angle someday. With sufficient interpretation and sufficient desire to pull an owl over a globe, the three storylines can be merged into one. But what if Teyvat actually has multiple pasts? For example, if it is an amalgamation of multiple worlds, each with their own origin story.
Teyvat DOES have multiple pasts! Sort of. Just about everything that happens in Teyvat has happened before in some way. At least, every major event has. Teyvat is stuck in a cycle, although the cycle has been breaking down due to the efforts of the abyss, the archons, and the descenders. So it's hard to say how many things we see are a part of that cycle. But we do see the cycle even in more minor things, like the fact both travelers went on a journey to save the Aranara. Which is strange, because it implies the cycle even affects traveler, who is supposedly immune to fate. The point is, if something happens, it's fair to assume it has already happened in Teyvat, in slightly different ways. Maybe all three stories ARE true. Or maybe it's happened multiple times and always ended in the same way... Or maybe it's never repeated at all.
Yes it explains the significance of names within Teyvat and even possibly how the Abyss was created within Natlan if a name is being taken the memory of that person seizes to exist within Irminsul when that happens Irminsul can no longer transmute the memory from the abyss into a living creature and instead becomes a monster. Xiao's name is not Xiao the original name of a person holds power. No Simulanka was not about that, Mona says that the fate in Teyvat is mirrored within the world of Simulanka a mirrored version means a reversed. The dragon is a toy in Simulanka and Scaramouche is a toy in Teyvat. "The sad story with the disappointing ending" is the story about Scaramouche. Andersdotter could not accept his fate, and intervened by creating a story were he is the hero hoping he would live long enough to experience it. What this did was to show Scaramouche that the bridge between what is deemed impossible like saying becoming a human is in fact not impossible at all as long as you have a will strong enough. What happened in Simulanka did not change Teyvat but it changed how Scaramouche view himself and that is crucial in the future
@@fatuusdottorenow that’s just an opinion based statement. Fact is hoyoverse does view his life as a form of a tragedy/terrible circumstances after another. Which would be sad to some. Being played for years and eventually told everything you knew about your history and every relationship you had or how you perceived it was an entire lie, to some, with or without context, is a sad fate to comprehend. Durin’s and Scaramouche’s fates are sad but like the OP highlighted above ^ for different reasons. They do mirror each other greatly though. And thats undoubtedly on purpose with the “wish I was never born.” Line being outright said for both durin and wanderer in his character demo. You can absolutely choose whether or not Wanderer’s fate was sad, as however someone interprets art will always vary. But even the writer can have a way they interpret the story they’re telling. They want us to be sympathetic to his life, because they find it sad.
@@fatuusdottore But you think it is a coincidence that Scaramouche is the one that reads the story, and not the traveller? No it's not the story is about Scaramouche just as much as Durin they are connected. He even says "more fate stuff" Every line in these quests are carefully chosen.
@@The1andonlysharpshooter Who is Scaramouche? I only know the guy in the hat. The story of Scaramouche would have been even more interesting if the writers hadn't done the trick with Irminsul brainwashing the entire population of Teyvat. Imagine what kind of stories could be created based on Scaramouche's interaction with real victims and the consequences of his crimes in Simulanka. Then his experiences and sad fate could be revealed much more easily and fully.
The fact the only new character we're getting in 5.1 is Xilonen (considering the first 2 patches of every region are the ones they release the most characters), who's the same tribe as Kachina so no new tribe to explore, may suggest what you say is true, and they're going slower this time to not rush the story and also no Pyro traveler at the start plus apparently Mavuika's gonna take some time to be released as well
This is such an interesting take! (Haven’t finished the vid yet, but also think that it does have sth to do with the in-game lore as well, given “the names” is a topic of Natlan)
Personnally , i think the major point will be the resurrection of Durin, because of everything said in the quest and also , the title of Natlan's Story quest "Incandescent Ode of Resurrection" And maybe the fake sky
There's one possible purpose this quest served: it ensured every player doing it has recently been back in Sumeru and remembers how to navigate some of its more popular spots. (This probably increased the chance of players finding Nilou and Nahida in the aftermath of the Simulanka,, although it also meant anybody looking for the "venturers" would be thinking of Sumeru City's Bazaar or Port Ormos... instead of the Fontaine clock shop, of all places.) Not sure why it's important players remember how to get around Sumeru right now, although Sumeru City in particular is one of the most potentially confusing urban areas in Teyvat to learn to navigate. All those arcing ramps. I recall thinking at a certain point in the local main questline, "at least I'm finally sure I can get anywhere in the lower part of the city", and then realized. Possibly the devs feel it's time to return there for the next "non-summer holiday".
One time after finishing a world quest i got an achievement with some weird greek name . It stuck out to me so i googled it and found it was a reference to a childrens book. And that the point of the quest was some obscure metaphor. Afterwards i started paying alot more attention to names and achievements finding that allot of genshin content refrences real history and mythology. I think everyone already knows about the ars goatia, but it was also really interesting learning about some films and novels i never heard before. At some point there was so much, i thought of it as less of a nod towards the media and clues that the devs are trying to imply teyvatt and earth were once one and the same. 😅
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think hoyo is right. They don't HAVE to make characters that represent the nations they take inspiration from. I mean, I'd celebrate it if they did, but I don't see why they should be obligated. And I don't think it's disrespect either. If it was, then they would be disrespecting their own culture also. Or does anyone think Ningguang is somehow representative of what a Chinese person looks like? But I didn't think hoyo would be so sneaky and address the issue in a confusing quest xD. nice vid! (edit: typo)
The Natlan nontroversy? As a Latina, I don't stand with the weirdo twitter gringos, this drama is mostly stirred up by young Anglo women let's be honest, though I've seen the odd Asian-American woman get involved. Black Americans too. What I haven't really seen is Latinos on their side. Quite the opposite, and as it is OUR culture being represented, they should value our perspectives, but if you tell them anything other than what they want to hear; they'll verbally abuse you and, ironically enough, whitewash you claiming you're quite, not even bothering to check if your profile actually matches what you're claiming. They did that to me and to someone from Argentina (I am Mexican.) Western Genshin twt and the diva EN VA's are always making some drama about something, let's be honest. It's why tbh I'd be happy if they got replaced by AI, or by someone who appreciates their job and lives the characters, and why I'm glad the true global community rejects the US nonsense.
@fatuusdottore I'm so sorry to hear that. When I try to call out Americans I get cyberbullied. And I completely agree with you. But ti be honest there were some Latinas that weren't like that...
@@fatuusdottoreI mean Natlan does represent more than just South America. And people who aren’t from america and are from those countries being represented are upset, and I think it’s okay to respect that as well. For eg using names of their gods or their cultures and not seeing a semblance in them can be hurtful to some people. West Africa is still part of this mix and heavily so. Even east Africa. I know many people who are from these places, even South America, disappointed. But not surprised. Same goes for me. My culture is in Natlan. And though I would’ve preferred some mix, I am not surprised. Especially seen as even the people who sang for the music for Natlan quite literally are the example of what people wanted to see a bit more of.

I just thought that the Simulanka story will be loosely related to the Teyvat story. They did confirm that Simulanka is simulating the history of Teyvat and by the end of it, they assume it will also simulate the future of Teyvat. So the story with so many name references that aren't related at all to the real people, means that the Simulanka version will be different from the Teyvat version. . So in conclusion; They may not be able to befriend Teyvat Durin like how the befriended Mini Durin. And some other similar things...
The fact that the quest was unvoiced, and was literally nothing but travel around to get dialogue (which amounts to at least 100 pages of yapfest), makes me think that it was entirely unimportant. Even the reward was less than the detective quest in Metropole. Now that I say it, it does have a similarity with them both being about a detective/police who turned out to be the culprit, but it still doesn't feel like it has any deeper meaning. I felt like it was a lazy way to shoehorn in (give screen time to) characters that Hoyo couldn't competently incorporate into the story.
i absolutly loved the old and newer pop culture referances in sinulanka they were fun to find, it was really nice to drop in on everyone in sumeru before leaving for natlan
That side quest was so wild. I did have a good time with it even if it didn't add much physically to the game. A nice break to enjoy something rather silly. But I do like your interpretation!
Don't care about spoilers really. I enjoy embracing whatever comes my way; the game feels more immersive that way. Though I'd appreciate any feedback to enhance my team since I joined this game three months ago.
I think you're cooking with the link between Simulanka and Natlan based on prior summer events, it's the only explanation for this quest being awkwardly affixed to the event and not independent of it. If they just made this quest and needed to ship it, it could have been added to the base game, especially given it's unvoiced & lacking significant new world content (and therefore not using up much precious install disk space). They chose to just throw this on there for a reason
I've used Nahida's mind reading during this quest and.. found nothing special. Cyno and Sethos didn't even registered as a viable targets, only Dori (in their scene) and she had dot dot dot for thoughts.
I think circling names definitely some type of foreshadowing to natlan ancient Names. The names being one letter off of historical figures names while also being diff people overall is def a self jab or meta from hoyo since alhaitham, who says this, is such a figure himself. I think this was overall a meta narrative that navigated how diff people read a story while inserting these things into their own characters. Some nice meta writing while also foreshadowing natlan.
I think the hint to Natlan is just related to it both being connected to dragons and I think they also left a hint to the next summer event in the room that refrinced past summer events there was a note talking about snow and we are going to the cryo region so it would make sense that the next summer event would have snow
Haven't finished the video but Imma say one thing: I found this silly quest to be really enjoyable. I got to see most if not all of the Sumeru cast; and even if it's just filler in the end, I wish to have more quests like this one where we just see the characters interacting with one another or the player in a more casual way.
Playing through this quest I was getting rather exasperated with Kaveh. Like, plenty of names have slight variations in their spelling or get modified in fiction, why're you making such a big deal out of it?😂 Loved this breakdown of the quest❤ I'm like Nahida, but enjoy a good discussion after everything has been displayed on the table.
I was wondering about this exact quest! Thank you for sharing your point of view in the quest, it looked so out of context. I'm the one like Nahida then, :D I'm playing to enjoy the game and the story, not the spoilers. thanks for the video!
I honestly take things like nahida at first but then pick-up the altered version just for fun. I honestly like to see the details and have overall fun and joy with it all. As well for the small subtle suspicious sugestions of mihoyo ways of getting money on a very very clever almost villaneous-way. ... With that said, there we have the obligatory... *_inhale_* SLIME-ARCHON THEORYYYY!!!
This quest made me think of Cain's Jawbone. a mystery that you tear the pages out and try to put the solution together. the pages are out of order and there a six story lines.
Ngl the final questline was my favorite part of Simulanka. I didn't care much for the actual summer event story outside of the parallels between Albedo/Scaramouche and learning more info about Durin and the witches. Sumeru is my favorite region and has my favorite cast so it gets bonus points for that as well
There's this theory from Ashikai about how she intrepets it, it's all about the meaning of "name", this is how I remember it Name as in something that dictates fate Name as in something about role Name turns out to be not important at all, is what the Sumeru quest is all about, because the book have names that referenced real character name, but it is after all just a name and that name affects nothing of the story or role in the book and funilly, this interpretation answered in the current archon quest by Kachina's story so far. The ancient name given to her has meaning, it describes about her nature so well, is her name meaning resillience or something, I forgot, but in the end the Wayob said, the name is actually just a name with no special powers, it is Kachina herself that choose to follow that name and become what she is now, but she do choose to be like that because she want to live up to her name right? So the name does dictates the fate, asign a role, but also actually not important at all because what important is the holder of the name, maybe it is also like the Simulanka where the residence given a role, a fate, but in the end the are given freedom to choose their ending
dude, on another note: I just re-watched your "hidden in the light" video and got excited all over again. I don't understand how that vid didn't blow up more, it's been a year and it still hits me more than any lore video I have ever seen! kudos man, keep at it and I'm sure you'll get the recognition you deserve some day. Can't wait to see what you will cook with natlan
tysm, that means a lot! Yeah I suppose the two projects I had the most fun with so far, were that one and the "metaphysics" vid. But with yt the response is always unpredictable and that's ok :). Wheter it's 40 views or 40k, the feedback I've gotten so far on every upload has been overwhelmingly kind and encouraging, I couldn't ask for more.
After I saw both of Ashikai's video and this video, I can't help but think that dev might kill 2 birds with 1 stone by both sending message while also showing another way the "name" work in Teyvat.
Ashikai's a bit of a meme to me ever since she claimed Dottore would be in Fontaine with literally no evidence whatsoever, and mistook Antoine Roger for him, when all she had to do was zoom in and see the dude on the blimp was blond. 💀 Also trying to tie Dottore to Fontaine by force for some reason when he has said himself a million times he is from Sumeru, going so far as to try to claim he's Remurian. I understand not everyone will get theories right, and I accept that, but the sheer level of laziness and headcanon/ship-forcing made me completely stop taking her and similar others seriously. I have my own HCs and ships but I try to keep them separated from any speculation on Genshin's story or characters, and I'm not even a CC, so I expect them to be held to a higher standard and not insert their own ships or pander to ships that twitter likes, even when said ships have no in-game evidence whatsoever, or in some cases, evidence that breaks them. (Which is fine if people still want to ship them, but they should admit it is not supported by canon, and more importantly, not bring it up in theories or serious lore discussion.) It's cringe and those CCs are ones I avoid, because it seems like they want to reverse-engineer their HCs/conclusions and cherrypick stuff to force them rather than earnestly analysing the evidence. And just pushing stuff with no evidence like Arlecchino with Columbina when we know Columbina will be working with Dottore and they are close from WNL. Even Arlecchino herself says Columbina doesn't usually speak to her, and gives her nonsensical answers when she tries to talk to her. She calls her "interesting," but that's it. If there was a female harbinger she seemed to have a close relationship with, it would be Signora, where they basically were like two mums running the orphanage, even if superficially. And that would explain why she was so mad about the lack of reverence for Signora's death by most of the Fatui as well, whereas Columbina didn't even bother to stick up for Arlecchino, Childe had to (despite not even liking her at the time.) On the other hand, we see she has a flirty relationship with Dottore, which makes sense since they're very much complementary to each other. (As Arlecchino kind of is to Signora, interestingly enough, both even sharing the same element and insect motif - spider and moth, Dottore and Columbina are raven and dove, conversely, though there's also Columbina's connection to death and Dottore's many themes surrounding the same, which may be why they're both regarded with wariness by other Harbingers, yet they find kinship with each other that they don't have with anyone else [we don't know how Dottore is with either Sandrone or Pantalone, Sandrone seems neutral, Pantalone is fundamentally incongruent given their philosophy and even Scaramouche hints at them having conflict in the future, which is pretty predictable given their ambitions are basically the opposite - Dottore wants to elevate humanity, Pantalone wants to bring down the gods.) I respect the CCs that actually deal with lore and not HCs.
@@fatuusdottore I somewhat agree with she is a bit pushy with Dottore in Fontaine (but given that Signora is featured in 3 nations and he can change form like in Sumeru interlude quest, I also kinda get why she thought like that.) but what I like about Ashikai's theories is connecting the detail in the game to real life other fictional stories. like in her Simulanka video about the detail of the frog and flying squirrel. About the Arlecchino and Columbina, I don't think it's just HCs but a theory that base on the play, Commedia dell'arte, that is the direct inspiration of Fatui. In that play, Columbina is that love interest of Arlecchino. So, some genshin lore CC try to think of possible implication about the in game relationship between those 2. I don't mind about genshin lore CCs' HCs. It's a theory after all and I want to see other people's perspectives that different from mine.
@@cardnacn6704But about Columbina and Arlecchino that's is HC. The Harbingers have almost nothing in common with the characters from the Commedia Dell'arte except for a couple of small details, they are always either completely different or complete opposites, so this theory has no weight from beginning, it's just HC based on what was in the comedy, but that's already not true in the game.
@@fatuusdottore Fr, and one gripe I have about her theories is that she tends to tie things to Deshret even though it's a super long stretch and Deshret's arc is finished a long while ago. It's just so lazy imo.
@@justincross2212 IDK, I don't like Ashikai's theories, as they are sometimes super stupid, but I like her favoritism for Deshret and the fact that she always finds ways to connect him to something, it's pretty funny, the main thing is not to take it seriously. And I wouldn't be so sure about the fact that Deshret's arc is finished, he still has a lot of unknown things and we still haven't seen his design, plus his lore is still being added and told in the game like in 4.7, so the developers don't forget him and continue to tell his story.
Since Collei very pointedly directed us towards the Sumeru quest at the end, I don't think it was something that was just tacked on to the end of the Simulanka quest with no meaning. I also don't think the storyline was a 'jab' at any part of the player base. I think Hoyoverse realized that their pattern of foreshadowing Archon questlines with the summer event was not a feasible strategy anymore, since the secrecy about the Natlan region, people and questline was causing a lot of anticipation to find out anything about it. All eyes were on the Simulanka quest for answers. So they said, you want answers, we'll give you many - but not about Natlan but more so about the entire mystery of Teyvat. I think they filled Simulanka with almost related storylines and red herrings so that people would try to theorize and make assumptions and added the last Sumeru quest as a way of saying - don't believe everything you see. I took only one thing away from the quest and thats the fact that we probably have already guessed the true mystery behind Teyvat and the main storyline, probably pretty early on in the main storyline, but Hoyoverse has filled the stories of Teyvat with many many red herrings throughout the 5 nations, so we cannot be sure until the main storyline concludes. I really think this was the reminder or hint they were trying to convey with the quest. (But also I could be reading too much into it haha, always a possibility) Anyway, I am happy that the summer event didnt include much Natlan foreshadowing, as I am having a good time exploring the Archon quest for myself. This video was well laid out, thank you for sharing.
Funny enough, I think that random Simulanka world quest with the great voice acting actually might have a chance at being the real thing. An ancient being clinging to the memory of a dead god by fueling competition between tribes? Seems like an obvious parallel. But then again, maybe too obvious! What is Hoyo cooking up here
It was about how they were going to retcon the Murata tribe out of existence. People have been "circling that name" since the manga came out since it's Himeko's last name and the fate of HI3 Himeko is still not 100% clear. But that's all gone now. There is no Murata tribe and the Archon is not named Murata. The name was pointless.
I am a bit afraid of trying to see the Kaveh quest as the devs talking to theory crafter and/or leakers, because of the Danganronpa drama, when the devs wanted to show another message and the players thought it was a commentary against them. My English is a wip.
This is actually a pretty interesting take. That would be really cool if your theory was true, but unfortunately will never really know. Also I wanted to point out that I think that whole quest after simulanka was a red herring its self as they kept on drawing us in by saying “something big is happening in sumeru!” But it was really just a meaningless book.
What if the message is for the witches and not the players. They are outsiders or at least outside enough to point discrepancies. maybe it tries to forshadow whatever the witches believe that happened before history is not actuallu the whole story. Maybe that obvious but the tragicness of the situations would be amazing to see
If Childe survives I'm gonna be so mad. They've been too cowardly with the character deaths. Only very significant characters to properly die are (spoilers ahead) Signora and Focalors. Signora, who was a villain, and Focalors, who has a little clone of herself running around anyways and who we only met shortly before she died.
The end quest to me just seemed like filler. A rush job just make players have something to do for an hour without achieving anything. I'd assume most players would skip through the text just for it to be over.
Every summer they do an event that adds a new region for the entirety of that version. So keep an eye out every summer for an event like that so you're prepared.
You are complete wrong. And you actually made the same mistake as the ppl in the quest. There is NO HIDDEN MESSAGE, NO SECRETS and NO TREASURE. It's just a bad story with a strange title. Nothing else. Read it if you like it... get your rewards... if not... this is just a game/book.
Bringing up names a lot does line up with the Agnidus Agate Gemstone story. Yeah those gems lowkey reveal their region's plots. Pyro's gemstone mentions fighting for a name. Agnidus Agate Gemstone "A pilgrimage for a wish; a battle to earn a name... Burnt to cinders for a dream. If the intention yet remains, achieved ▉▉'s truth he has."
