Sidenote, Akira was the biggest hand drawn anime masterpiece that introduced Western Culture to all types of Anime in the mid 90s, now I hear they are making a live action version directed by lunatic Taika Watiti 😡 he cannot be trusted WITH ANYTHING after admitting he didn’t care about Thor and just did it for the paycheck. With the exception of Alita Battle Angel, I think a classic anime like Akira should just remain what it is- an anime!

But I heard someone say recently Bladerunner 2049 was “better than the original” 🤨 I’m like you don’t even understand how blade runner launch the entire cyber punk genre, and the animes we just talked about were highly influenced, if not some were straight up copies of it- plus a 30 year late sequel that brought Harrison Ford back (correctly I might add) could never of existed without the original so I think it’s stupid to always say that the latest is the greatest. A bunch of boneheads out there are gonna say the Akira remake is better.

Ride of the rhohirrim still remains the most Epic scene to date in any movie I’ve ever seen. I watch the trilogy at least once a year and it still gives me chills and brings a tear to my eyes. Looking forward to watching the anniversary special!!

I'm 39 and grew up with Disney - so effing sad to see it spiral into woke oblivion. It's bizarre to see to see these feminists and wokists complain about Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, when they went out out of their way to establish the women where attracted to the men before the magical kiss. In both cases the princes didn't know they were royalty.

Also in my 30s and grew up with Disney. When I hear complaints about Ariel giving up her legs for a man, or the un-consensual kiss in Snow White, I have high doubts they’ve even seen those movies, or they watched them 20 years ago only once. Ariel wanted to go to the surface before she ever met Eric. Snow sang the entire movie about her prince coming for her. This 4th-wave feminist nonsense makes me want to scream.

The problem with making a comedy film today is not the lack of material or the will to do it but the fact that everything moves so fast that some jokes become passé within a day. Danny Polishchuk talked Timcast IRL a couple weeks ago about how he and Ryan Long have been trying to make a comedy film and having to delay it because some jokes become irrelevant and new ones pop up. An example he gave revolved around pre-Elon Twitter. But I’ll give them props for trying.

I got into Doctor Who I think after Matt Smith became the new guy, I decided I would give it a shot. I started with the 9th Doctor and I couldn't stop watching all the way up to the 12th Doctor, and I liked Peter Capaldi's old-man spin on the doctor. I quite liked Capaldi being able to provide the look and attitude of the grumpy Doctor when he shows how tired he is. Then I heard about the Donald Trump throwaway line, and I said "NO thank you, I don't have any patience for that." I quit before it all went to shit and you all have my sympathies.

If you remember Garofalo was a constant guest on "news" shows back then and that's EXACTLY what she would do. Then after 5 mins she would just start repeating the exact same lines even if they asked her something that had nothing to do with it. This happened over and over and over I used to scream at my TV wondering why nobody called her out. i am digging the fact these big companies are angry at the nerds in their bedrooms keeping customers away. the customers aren't mindless zombies now matter how hard you try to make it seem like we are. these guys just happen to be fun to watch making fun of the very crap we hate.

I wanted Ladyballers to be funny. Ladyballers was not funny. The Babylon Bee had a multi-episode series about a liberal, ultra progressive California couple that moved to Texas. It's hilarious. Those episodes did a much better job communicating a lot of what Ladyballers was trying to communicate. If you're going to put political messages in a movie(like the left does every time), especially if the movie is a comedy...then keep it subtle. Don't make it an hour and 50 minute town hall that explains all of the insanity of leftist America.

It’s times like this that I’m glad shows like Stargate SG1 had ended in a better time. And didn’t get corrupted by a modern audience/ writers vision. I can’t imagine a modern Hollywood writer using SG1 as a platform to push a modern agenda, like making T’elc a homosexual or something.

I was depressed by just how much they totally WASTED both Tennant and Tate in those episodes. Not just the DoctorDonna issues, but the chemistry between the characters, the banter, the quirkiness, NONE of that existed in the 60th episodes. I started to wonder if the actors had had a falling out at some point; as if Tate had doubts about the j a b , and Tennant had canceled her for that. Wilf was wasted too; they could have filmed multiple scenes with him in one day, knowing that another is far from guaranteed.

Ladyballers made me laugh enough to be fine with the time I spent watching it. It was made quick and cheap and that showed. I needed more editing and that showed, but it was fine for what it was. DW is finding it's way with self-produced stuff. They are one of the answers to who will fill the gap left by Hollywood's overdue and not nearly quick enough crash and burn.

Can somebody please tell me what the hell Odin does on the show? Ive been watcbing for over a year and he just sits there quietly. Occasionally he'll chime in with box office stuff, but Ryan does it better and it's really just stats that anybody can read off a website... And he either just disappears after an hour without saying goodbye or he shows up 2 hours late talking about how he has kids... Just replace him with Disparu and be done with it.

Lady Ballers was a lot better than I thought it would be, but I agree with the criticisms everyone made. The editing was an issue for me as it seemed like they lingered on certain jokes for way too long. Comedy has to be quick and snappy, so the longer you linger on something, the less funny it becomes. A breezy 80-minute comedy like Dirty Work will play much better than a 104-minute comedy.

The 30s in Europe was very different to the American concerning racial prejudices...one example is the battle of bamber bridge..American government told the british pubs to not let in their back soldiers..Brittish pubs refused...Black americans mingled with white Brits...This pissed off the white American soldiers to the extent where a huge fight broke out...This is one example of many similar incidents..
