I think Kulusevski should be number 10 ahead of Maddison and I’d have him closer to Solanke. Like a Klinsmann and Sheringham style strike partnership with Kulusevski playing the Sheringham role
Hey hey hey. Lets not start the blame game crap. Especially if its one of pur best players who gives us a spark. Before his injury he was our best player. Its a friendly match and you fans say this. You better not be one of those monkeys that was saying Ndombelle is a great talented player
Moddershall is a top player.. but he fell off a bit last season after injury. But his passing a movement yesterday was class.. he will come good or at least we have Bergval .. he looks class
IMO this is the best RU-vid channel for Spurs analysis. Every video dealing with exactly what Spurs fans are thinking about at the time. Keep up the good work. 😀
Love the analysis, just wanted to say that I don't think set peices are a point of concern anymore. When Cuti, VDV, Lolo and Udogie were on we did well stopping them, and Solanke will help us aswell.
they have solanke now, he is an agressive player and a finisher. he had the highest rate of pressure around the field in the whole premier league. he is an extremely reliable player and delivers when needed. ( Ange wont be using set pieces during pre season, its supposed to not be shown to everybody ). We do need set pieces but we don't know what he has in store. All of the set piece makers got injured last season, van de ven, udogie and most importantly Maddison. They are the biggest reason we had a horibble second half of the season. Son isnt a natural striker, if u look at a placement graph, he doesnt spend much time finishing in the box. he is all around the field, unlike son solanke is a in the box finisher. if u compare solanke and son's graph, its night and day.
@@colinmichael8498 Solanke is a great signing but I am not talking about scoring set piece. I am talking about defending set pieces. We concede too many set piece goal, we got horrible marking and our back post is always open. We dont need to be crack at set piece like we were under conte but I want to at least not feel nervous in every corner kick against us.
I feel like if he starts Maddison it's kind of a slap in the face to Kulusevki and Bergvall telling then no matter how good you are Maddison goes ahead of you. They earned it, do the right thing Ange.
Most football players respond well to simple, straightforward instructions. Ange needs to get a plan in place for set plays and drill it till they dream it. But we also need players who like to head a ball. Hopefully, Solanke can help with this because our only enthusiastic header is Richi. It makes such a difference with just these two aspects in place. Look at Everton. They are a prime example of a squad who successfully deal with corners at both ends of the pitch.
Glad that all white kit has gone...blue and White looks better Not a bad game...but does show that we need a solanke type player...he will score over 25 with us.. Kulu plays better when more central
Great analysis once again, may your channel keep growing! - As for the opening game yes, I would give all the ones that showed they are hungry in preseason a chance to start, otherwise what's the point of preseason
we really need to address the situation at the back # where the keeper keep putting his defense under pressure allowing the opponent to score #it happen alot last season and thatS one of our biggest mistake we really need to address the situation
Kulu does not work out wide, he always looks to cut in to the middle while carrying, he rarely goes to the line to cross or cut back. He has always seemed better playing centrally, a great rotation and squad player if he is happy with that.
Bergvall and Kulusevski already seem to have a great affinity for playing alongside each other. I'd like to see them fill both AM roles in a couple of the early season games, mostly because Maddison has looked very lacklustre. Speaking of lacklustre, when Romero casually passed the ball back to Vicario four or five times in the space of a minute (during time added on, no less!), I literally started shouting at my TV. When the team is chasing a goal in the final minutes, there really should be a LOT more urgency. I know, he's just back and probably rusty, but still. Djed Spence made some interceptions, but he also lost possession several times. He wasn't as sharp against Bayern and looked uncomfortable at left back but looked MUCH better playing on the right (as he did against QPR & Hearts). Also, Archie Gray may aspire to be a 6, but that's one of the toughest roles on the pitch and it might take some time to be fully ready for it, but he looked GREAT at right back. If Pedro takes a few months off, there will be no shortage of perfectly able players ready and willing to step into Right Back! Lastly, Vicario needs to learn that booting it up the park is sometimes 100% necessary! Pickford kicks the ball up field way too much, but he rarely gets caught out trying to be cute with his passing!
Off topic perhaps as this is a Spurs channel, but I think anyone can understand how interesting the combination of Kulusevski and Bergvall is from a Swedish perspective. The national team of Sweden has not performed well lately, but the problem is hardly lack of skilled players. Forgetting defenders, how would you build the team with access to players like Kulusevski, Bergvall, Isak (FW, Newcastle), Gyökeres (FW, immensely successful in Sporting Lisbon) and furthermore midfielders like Forsberg (MF, former RB Leipzig star, now playing for RB New York), Hugo Larsson (MF, Eintracht Frankfurt), Svanberg (MF, Wolfsburg), Karlström (Attacking MF, Udinese, came from Lech Poznan), Karlsson (Attacking MF, Bologna) and Cajuste (DMC Napoli, possibly joining Ipswich on loan)? If you see the obvious solution here, you're a football genius! 🙂 Cheers from Sweden!
We Madders Super good at his peak.. so the only way to do that is to bench till when he gets the opportunity he won't let go bcus he knows there's a young lad who is close to him as good. That's my 2 cent
I believe in a meritocracy. Maddison has been awful for most of the preseason. If you don't give Lucas a go against a newly promoted side on merit, when would he get a chance?
Kulesevski should never be played on the right wing. He is either incapable of, or he refuses to cross the ball behind the opposition defence, using his right foot.
What we learned, we looked better with the first team at the back. We had our chances against one of the best teams in Europe and our future looks bright. Can't wait for the Leister match! COYS
@antonyevans559 different players on the pitch need different tactics. We can't have 2 or 3 udogies on the bench. Simply relying on our best players doesn't mean winning trophies.
i really like how Ange use his players flexibility but with his system i'm still very nervous about how they build up and defend, absolutely easy to break!
I think the new youngsters need to be eased in, the premier league is a different beast... Start with the experienced players and use Gray, Bergvall etc as subs but give them at least 20 mins each game
I'm sorry but we cannot say Ange needs a set-piece coach to tell players to mark the players are the back post and start switched on? That is ridiculous. The playing out the back was Vicario's fault twice, not a tactical issue. Vicario should never play that pass and again, that is not Ange's fault. The midfield is interesting. I don't think we need to drop James, I think we play him with Lucas instead of Pape at Leicester. Lucas is more of an 8 than 10. Bissouma is start at the base of midfield but I cannot see Ange not starting Pape. Lolo was good when he came on so the midfield is looking positive but we still need to be more precise. It also looks like at the moment in time Mikey Moore is the first choice off the bench for Ange which perhaps points to the glaring issue of us needing a RW because BJ cannot be the starter out there. I think we will get a deal done for an exciting winger this week along with a LB. Exiting times.
His body positioning is very good, he’s a smart player...I’ve always liked Skipp even though he’s not uber talented ...seems like a nice person also which Ange covets
Tactical changes? I have seen "more of the same" rather than "tactical changes". We still horrific at set pieces and still getting sliced open with quick balls into the channels. Nothing has changed. Very worried going into this season.
I don't get the Maddison hate tbf. Getting up front and direct is definitely not one of his strengths, so he would definitely not look as flashy and smooth as Bergvall. But he was winning fouls left and right, passing and trying to pull the strings, and got a really good shot really close to the goal at the end of the first half. And if we're being honest, we won't face teams as good as Bayern in the Premier League, so he'll only look better
I thought Maddison actually looked good this match for the first time in preseason. But he hasn't really looked top class in months which is why there's so much criticism.
I think he's just a little slow both in his actual running and also in his decision making. And his dribbling isn't so great. He'd be a great player in another system, very similar to a hojbjerg imo but isn't cut out to beating a press or to covering ground to break up a transition as he's too slow so not suited to our system.
We are not up to speed with where we need to be. We can’t defend like that and think we can win games Also.. "just imagine this with 6ft 2 Solanke... bodies would be all over the place". He's not exactly a giant, he's 1 inch taller than Kulu. 😂
Right wing. Cutting in & shooting on his left is his speciality. Also, sonny can do the same on the left. Also, they can be switched to the opposite wings when the opposition work out what they are doing, then swapped back again etc.
To his defense he was playing with a makeshift back line who he’s not used playing with , but yes I’d like to see him boot it long if he’s under serious pressure and not try and force dangerous passes
@@JohnDoe-tv4zf ok so as a keeper if you know that then throw the ball to the half way line. He has no variation just throw it into the danger zone for god sake the guy is dumb
