Have been watching Bens work and listening to his multiple pod appearances for 2 months now. Final piece of the jigsaw that’s allowed me to sack of twitter entirely as I now get enough of a proper discussion on Spurs from the likes of Ben & Ali G. Superb work Ben and I now fully expect to be watching your work until I snuff it and my supporting ends. 👌🏼

Here’s a genuine question… when was the last time we scored a tap in from a goalkeeping spill before Solanke? None spring to mind, not even Kane I think(?) 2 in 2. Is that significant you think?

Did feel for Dragu last night, yes his mistake but he got stitched up. Why are three players so high and clustered together so tightly in a build up phase. Spurs rarely go long so surely they knew they fucked up in positioning.

We started very poorly and Radu paid the price for it. But going a goal down against brentford immediately and it not phasing the lads one bit, and going a man down in 7 this game and again not phasing the lads one little bit is actually a major positive to take from these poor starts. They’re buying into the system and understanding it much better. We’re on the right path, this team will be absolutely smothering teams before you know it.

Bissouma and Sarr had an up and down type night. Biss defensively this season (minus the penalty last night) has been much improved and his performance on the ball has been inconsistent. Still love him as a player but he needs to be his best once Bentancur suspension starts in the league. I think we all forget how young Sarr is and is still very much a work in progress. His energy and legs are invaluable to our squad but agree his performance on the ball this year has been underwhelming. Sarr is perfect for when we play teams who wont sit back and will play with us but still needs to be better against the low block. Positive last night overall with the goal and caused the turnover to set up the first but still room to improve. Special shout out to Ben Davies. Two great games in two cup games. If he can keep that level of play in those games then I feel much better about our chances to maybe win something.

Solanke has two major pluses for me, 1st his positional play that i think is some sort of a 6th sense that only the top attackers have. To give some sort of evidence of this is the goal he scored against Qarabag shows this clearly, when the 1st shot is taken he instantly moves away from the defender and gives himself space to score if these is any sort of a rebound. On another site it was claimed 'He scored from a lucky tap in', lucky my a*se!! And the 2nd plus for me his really aggressive pressing, this guy is a beast, if he gets a sniff of the ball he really goes for it, he should fit nicely into Ange's high pressing plans. Ange In COYS!!....,,,The Aussie Spurs Fan.

I said that on your last video. How the fullbacks are running away from the play, taking off like jack rabbits. I would love for us to do something together. Different from the distraction off the pitch. Why the system not working as effective but when pressed, like the Brentford game. Players find themselves in the correct place. Although not perfect. The responses are supposed to be how we initiate play from jump. Great logical analysis, again.

my beginner thoughts: Solanke is a beast, I feel like everyone talks about players that are good with the ball, but I feel like Ange places his emphasis on pressing and Solanke fits that mold to as close to perfection as it gets. Dude just gets after it. Was gutted to see Bergvall have to come off, kid has so much promise and this was the kind of game where he could really get in and show what he could do. Thought Gray was good, sky is the limit for that kid, feels like a future captain. You could see him kind of figuring things out on the fly. Few times he got into an area and it seemed like he saw had no one filling in behind so he got back as quick as he could. He's still getting a feel for the pace of the game, but again sky is the limit. Hopefully I'm not alone, but I feel very comfortable w/ both Bentancur and and Bissouma. I've never been a big Bentancur fan, but hes won me over. I give the edge in the starting 11, but I think Bissouma brings a different dynamic, just a nice option. Feel like you can stick either one in there and you'll probably be ok. So damn happy for Brennan Johnson. Kid getting way too much shit. He seems to consistently be in the the right places. Admittedly I have absolutely no knowlege of the game, but figuring out how to be in the right places at the right time is a universal in all sports and Johnson seems to have that kind of intuition. And hes only 23.... Just like with Gray, the sky is the limit w/ Johnson, the raw material is there Ange just has to fine tune it. Lastly, Kulusevski is going to play his way into being one of the best players in Europe. He just seems to see the entire field, can play with anyone else out there. He's a rare athlete that has a sixth sense to have a connection with every player he is on the field with, no matter who it is. Thats a special attribute. Sorry for using field instead of pitch. I'll never get used to that

Couldn't have said it better myself. Great work, Ben. It was a commanding performance that underscored the quality difference between the two teams. The red card was a bummer for so many reasons. Draggy really needed those minutes, so did Bergie. With 11 men, Spurs could have potentially been a bit more dominant, and up by a few goals by halftime, allowing more time for Mikey, and more rest for our starters on Sunday. That said, what could have been a very Spursy moment (ala Chelsea last season) turned out to be a testament to the grit, togetherness, and understanding that's developing under Ange. Ultimately this new system requires a swagger and confidence that has been significantly bolstered over these last three games, and I'm hopeful to see it continue. COYS!

Absolutely agree Ben. Solanke is a beast, he doesn’t stop pressing plus there was a back end net camera when Solanke passed the ball to Johnson for his goal, you saw Solanke after the pass move straight into the box to see if Johnson was going to possibly pass it (if it needed it) obviously Johnson scored the goal, then you see Solanke clutching his fist in celebration! This guy is always up there ready! He is going to be a gem for us!

Solanke is very good. We are also starting to understand how each other plays. There's less crowding on the left, which means that the opposition can't box in three players at once. I don't know how we are doing it, but we seem to be cutting down on chances created.

The stats i think are overlooked with Bissouma is the number of times he resists a tackle, either by dribbling through it, or passing through it. He can be sloppy in the opposition half, but he’s excellent in our own half and that’s crucial to our ball progression from deep

I think bissouma lost his form after his recent knock. Bentancur is in supreme form because when he's the 6, he's always a reliable outlet regardless of pressure because you know he wont lose the ball, is very decisive, has a better engine, and isnt afraid to keep it simple and biss is currently lacking at the minute. Bentancur, kulu, madders must start vs United

The pass looked simple, but it was the pass that QRB wanted with their press. Draggy knew this, so he chose the feint to back pass to Vic. Higher risk, but more effective in beating the press, and ultimately he simply bottled it. should've done better, but he didn't and compounded the error with a poor challnege. oh well. clean sheet.
