I was once in a stall in a bathroom in west Virginia having a similar issue to Ray and the lady in the stall next to me had a little kid. The kid went under the wall into my stall, stood there staring at me, petrified. Then proceeded to unlock my door and leave it open. And it was a long stall so I couldn't reach the door to close it until my business was done. 🤷♀️
Good planning and thinking went into this. Nice job 👍. Remember always have a plan for “The Attack” . Great Video by the way. Safe Travel, See you down the road !!
Excellent build! One of the best DIY's I have seen! I have been using a DIY toilet (very simple: wood frame, bucket and diverter) for years had no idea porcelain diverts even existed! I also just purchased Trelino's smallest size for a tiny (8x14) cabin. My only thought regarding odor is using a medium (I use coir or finely chopped hemp) to cover the poo after EVERY "deposit." I find there is never any odor (your husband's chili pepper episode would be an exception! :) whether using the DIY toilet or the Trelino and neither toilet has a fan or venting. Also, I use a separate can for the wee toilet paper, so the solids bin doesn't fill up nearly as fast. As for folks being offended by seeing a toilet, I don't get it either as I'm sure they use one. As space is at a premium in a 8x14 space, I found my DIY toilet lid (a rustic wood model) made the perfect end table/TV tray for a drink and dinner plate! Once again, a fabulous build!
Thank you so much for that encouragement and suggestions. After 3 yrs we are still happy with this set up and we do use the coir medium. Like you said. No smells. Really glad your build is working out so well!
