Ryan Day is in over his head. He doesn't prepare his team. He chokes in big games. 9 million dollars a year for a bust.

Day needs to go. Big ten expanding with new ranked teams, just means more losses coming. Day is awful vs ranked opponents not named Penn St

What went wrong was Ryan Day. You can this or that, but he failed to keep his starting QB, failed to get his start receiver to play (then allowed him to stand on the side line) and then fail yet to win another big game. Then there is his play calling, well his win loss against Michigan and in the bowl games tell that story. If Ohio State wants to win a national title, Day is not their guy. If they are happy winning 80% of their games and loosing to Michigan and bowl games, then they need to keep him. But I am willing to be it will get worse the longer he stays. Allowing Harrison to stand on the sideline when he opted out of the game says a lot for his coaching character. Harrison should have been put on a bus back to Columbus to clean out his locker, not allowed to stand on the sidelines wearing a jersey.

Ryan day is the problem...he's great against reg opponents but when the big games are here he can't function....we need urban back

Fire the o line coach, the special teams coach. Hire an offensive coordinator.

After Brown left the game, this was the first time I've ever watched an OSU game knowing 100% what the outcome was going to be. The D held out for as long as they could, but when Mizzou scored that TD, I would've bet my house that it was over. We got some big question marks at qb this offseason.

Ryan Day didn't just lose McCord and Fleming in the transfer portal but its looking like he's lost the locker room. The players lack of preparation and execution just highlights the team not performing well for a 'bad boss' like Coach Day.

OSU has recruited a handful of blue chip O-Linemen every year forever, so the lack of talent must be in the coaching department for not being able to develop the players they hand selected. The O-Line, QB, and entire offense has regressed since Kevin Wilson left because Frye and Dennis aren't good enough. OSU needs a Play Caller and a stud O-Line Coach, that can recruit, that isn't friends with Day. Day needs to come out of his comfort zone to hire the best coaches at their position.

Same thing that went wrong with Michigan, we lost on the line of scrimmage in the 4th quarter. The defense held this very capable Missouri offense to only 14 and yet we couldn't get it done. Not a single time did I think the offense looked like a good unit and it all starts up front.

This is the absolute worst offensive line I've ever seen a Ohio State team have couldn't even run the ball let alone pass it just terrible not a happy camper

Think how many players in the portal and high school recruits woke up this morning and said, “…maybe I should be looking elsewhere…”. If recruiting starts to suffer, then the real trouble starts (How do I know? Nebraska Cornhusker. We, too, had a dominant football program at one time).

The fact that a walk-on RB at Missouri impacted the game with 128 yards of tough, hard-nosed, smash-mouth football, because Missou's coach was persistent to stick with the run game, while the #1 RB in college football, TreVeyon Henderson DOES NOT go over 100 yards (19 carries, 72 yards) because HC Ryan Day ABANDONED the run like he always does, ought to tell Buckeye fans that Ryan Day IS NOT the coach for Ohio State Buckeye football. The sooner the Buckeyes FIRE him, the better. Jim Harbaugh and TTUN have told you the truth, "you are not a tough" football team under Ryan Day! Buckeyes had a chance in the 2nd quarter up 3-0 and driving for another score to take complete control of this game on the ground, but Ryan Day opted to throw a double-reverse pass. HC Ryan Day wants to throw the ball every down and run occasionally, when the Buckeyes needed to be establishing the run, especially with the QB Devin Brown's first start and the freshman QB tonight. Ryan Day's ****ed up situational play-calling absolutely stinks! AND the fact that Missouri was able to run the ball effectively, setting up their passing game, and Ohio State's stellar defense COULD NOT STOP the run in the 2nd half and eventually got worn down because Ryan Day DID NOT commit to establishing the run to control clock, maximize possessions, and keep the defense fresh, ought to tell Buckeye fans that it is time to move on from Ryan Day. The sooner, the better! WHAT good does it do to get top recruits at Ohio State and not utilize them properly? HC Ryan Day had over a month to prepare this football team, the OL looked pathetic, the players were flat and unmotivated, and he got COMPLETELY out-coached in the 2nd half!

Mizz head coach had white shirt w huge block M on it. That wasn’t by mistake either. I can’t remember the last time OSU had this many questions facing their team. OSU fans thought they had Michigan on the ropes after crying about sign stealing.

Ryan Day has taken a team that was regularly scoring 50 points under Urban Meyer and now scores 3 points. Bring Back Urban Meyer, bring back Jim Tressel, bring back Woody Hays!!!

One of the best defensive efforts I’ve ever seen. Quarterback or lack of a quarterback play along with offensive line play lost this game. Pathetic offensive coaching for the entire game. Hopefully 2024 they find better coaches and any quarterback. 😊

Ryan Day, overpaid by $8.9 million per year.

OSU ran out of gas in the 4th quarter, something Michigan has taken advantage of for the last 3 years. They need depth and conditioning.

The Offensive line scheme does not allow for them to run block consistently. At no point can OSU just line up and run it. But everyone will be happy when they get another 5 star receiver in the Portal

Last night could be the best thing to happen to Ryan Day and OSU football. If last night doesn't force Day to bring in a new OC/playcaller, Oline coach, and special teams coach, nothing will. If he does, he can take the Buckeye's to the top. If he doesn't, he'll end up for a 'for sale' sign in his front yard.

Watching that field goal effort that feebly bounced off the goal post was a perfect metaphor for the state of football at TTDS.

There is no way I'd come back to this if I were Henderson, Emueka, JTT, Sawyer etc... There is too much that needs to be fixed and would take longer than one-off season. They need to go to the draft. Trust me, the scouts have already seen their strengths, weaknesses, and potential.

When are we going to prepare our reserves to contribute? Offensive line was bad. Coaches had a month to get ready. What was the point of an experienced quarterback in reserve if you won't use him? Gebbia would have been a more viable option under the circumstances

As an outside observer, a big factor was simply losing your starting QB (Portal),then early in the game losing your backup QB thereby forcing you to use an unused 3rd string QB. Lincoln gave everything he could but the cards were stacked against him. The running game became very necessary when Lincoln came in so I fault the O line for not doing better. I thought the Defense was stellar. In my opinion, major changes are not needed.

Benching Hienshim (for whatever the reason) was the WORST decision of his career! The new center had NO idea how to call the defense and the replacement (vanities or whatever his name is) couldn’t block my sister! Embarrassing!

This message is to Ryan Day. Lesson one: Prepare your team like it was their last opportunity to play. Every player gets repetitions in practice. KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid. The best way to combat an aggressive defense is to roll the pocket. Simple pitch and catch plays down the field. Use running backs and tight ends down the field. Your play calling has been predictable for three consecutive seasons. Michigan knows it. Missouri knows it. I know it. Create wrinkles in your play calling. Keep everything simple. Find the open receiver. Move the chains. Simple. Basic. Football 101. You are welcome.

What went wrong? Missouri is the better team.

No excuse guys for Day not having ready

Day is not the right guy to head up a large organization. He is not a Leader or a Manager. He does not delegate authority during game time or trust anyone with any type of input or decision making. OSU continues to be beat by Organizations led by leaders or managers who trust their staff and delegate. Day was a small fish as a QB Coach. He is a great QB Coach, but he needs someone to manage him and the organization, or he needs to leave. If OSU was a military organization, someone would above Day would make damn sure he gets some leadership and management training. Day was promoted above his skillset. Day is lke a Corporal who can manage a squad or small group of 8 people, kinda like a QB room; Day is also like a Lieutenant who tries to do his Platoon Sergeants Job. Pretty soon another officer steps in tells the LT that the PSG runs the day-to-day operations, and he is there to communicate information from above. Usually a man of average intelligence can learn to do his part in an organization - it is the guy that's too smart that try's to do it all without any help - it doesn't work anywhere for long. Again, Day is incapable of managing the team operations using leadership skills or management skills; instead he tries to do it all himself. OSU is not developing the massive talent amassed. We are soft, cannot block, have not had a RB go up the middle for 3 years against anybody. If the head of OSU athletics wants to keep Day, then make it clear to Day that he has to a Defensive Line Coach and Offensive Line Coach during game time. If Day wants to manage the QBs during the game then it treads on the Play Caller or O-Line coaches duties. Day does not communication with his assistants during the game. Watch Sabin or Harbaugh... or any of the other coaches that beat Day and you will someone who is comfortable with allowing others to do their job, not do it for them. Day hired his buddies and friends to coach and they are OK with not doing their jobs themselves - the entire organization suffers. It hurts to watch a man fail in the areas of leadership and management. Everyone fails too. Day is in over his head. SEND HIM TO MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING, and fire him next year if he doesn't lead his organization instead of being a one-man show.

Recruiting that is based on how many stars the guy has doesn’t work.

OSU won the Natty in 2015 with a 3rd string soph QB. Florida St just won the ACC Championship with a 3rd string true freshman QB. How do you bring in top 5 recruiting classes every year and not have a QB that can complete a 20 yard pass consistently? The new reality of transfers and opt-outs brings depth, culture and coaching to the forefront. Teams with those qualities will still win bowl games. Teams lacking will struggle.

I don't want to hear any talk from any Ohio State fan until they can prove they are competitive with any of the top programs again. That starts with Michigan. No salty comments about cheating. No comments about the last 20 years. No one cares about that. Especially the SEC. They say we're soft because we haven't shown otherwise. What we need to focus on is getting back to that place. I don't even want to be ranked next year in the preseason. We don't deserve it and we are owed nothing due to our performance this past year and the few years before that. This team is acting very entitled. I respect Michigan because they go about their opponents the right way. They take it personally. They want to beat you. This team needs an attitude change from top to bottom. It's time to practice what you preach. Prove you can compete with your play. I don't care about the five-star recuits and top classes. I want dawgs that want to win more than anything and crave winning. Prove you can win these big stage games. Prove that you are not soft. Cause right now, the college world sees our failures and their hypothesis the past few years has been right.

Another 2 loss season, if your happy with a 10 or 11 win season then Ryan Day's your man. I suffered thru the John Cooper years, sorry I can't do it again!

There are way too many areas of concern to mention them all. But if Justin Frye is back with this team next year then there are many fans that are going to sit back waiting to roast Coach Day for letting a personal relationship dictate the team’s success.

As long as you guys keep overly focusing and obsessing on high school recruit rankings, you’ll continue to get these results. Here’s a tip to ponder. Can many 5 star wide receivers ON THE BENCH make the 11 guys on the field product better? Answer no, but keep thinking it means a lot to have super talented guys backing up other super talented guys all highly concentrated at only a few positions groups.

We are on the cusp of a long cold spell! Next year i project a 7 and 5 season. Yes if we maintain our current head coach, this situation will without question be the beginning of an ugly season. Time to remake the coaching situation! We will have a new AD, why not a new coach? Our current coach cannot call plays, and he allows a quarterback room get so thin!😅

Only thing I don't like about this game is that, despite his record, this might get Day and his merry band of garbage coaches (and yeah Jimmy K, I'm including you in this) out of Columbus. This game was an embarrassment. The coaching staff threw Kienholz to the damn wolves with zero preparation. Record aside, Day is incompetent and Frye needs to get examined for the fraud he is. Fortunately, his record is insulated by wins against the who's who of human crap in the Big 10 so he may live to fail another day.

BUT OSU had a terrific season that thrilled many fans, sure the game against Missouri was a let down but there is a lot to be thankful for and one thing is for sure the Buckeyes WILL be back. If your offensive line is failing try more max protect. Plus why change offensive line personal before this game to begin with. Nobody needed to be suspended

A consistent issue with OSU is playing flat for the first 38-45 mins of game clock.

The O line is an embarrassment

Who is at fault? There are several coaches at fault. First, it starts with Corey Dennis who didn't prepare QBs Bubble Boy Brown and Lincoln Keinholz. What in the hell did they see in Bubble Boy Brown, the guy has zero athleticism as a Buckeye QB? Justin Frye is a horrible offensive line coach. Second, OSU offensive line was garbage all season and they were unable to pick up blocks. Third, Parker Fleming is another horrible coach whose special teams had three penalties. Buckeyes had an overall lack of game preparation on the offensive side of the ball. Day hired these three clown coaches and he needs to fire these clown coaches. Bubble Boy Brown is a fragile QB with zero athleticism for a 20 something QB.

The Line of Scrimmage, on both lines, has not been recruited sufficiently enough. There is no quality depth on either line. Brown is Mr. Glass and a Portal QB must be brought in STAT!

Kyle McCord would have won the game for you. I still can't figure out why Day could not hang on to him until the end of the season. If it were not for that last minute interception, (and let's face it, he was playing in Ann Arbor in a very loud stadium) he might have beat Michigan --- and been your hero for 2024. (Note, I'm a Wolverine).

That record vs the SEC in bowl games is all about the LOS. The DLine was up to par, the OLine was physically dominated.

There is no silver lining in the OSU playbook for this loss. It is simply more evidence that the OSU program is in the midst of a long decline. It is a return to pre-Tressel mediocrity.

Why was Kienholz that bad? At this point, he is not a freshman and third team. He had a full regular season and is a sophomore backup at this point. There was no game plan for if he needed to play and he was totally not prepared. There is no excuse for that after a month off. I am getting John Copper vibes. Lose to Michigan and a bowl game at the end of the year, after an undefeated regular season. Is this deja vu?

They better do something to fix that offensive line. And that special teams coach needs to go.

Five Star recruits , five deep at almost every position and couldn’t get the job done . You can put that on both the coaching staff and players to a point . But blaming the QB’s for this loss is ridiculous especially when they haven’t played but a handful of snaps or less in the entire season. That’s on the Coaches ! For a fact . The defense did a really good job but this is a TEAM sport and both sides are responsible win or lose . And this includes the entire coaching staff who are responsible for these young men . You want money for playing the sport? Then go to work like adults do for the paycheck. Day needs to be fired.

Watching that game it felt weird, they weren't into it at all like it was an inconvenience for them to be there on their vacation. They could have had Stroud in there and it wouldn't have mattered as lazy and half hearted as the o-line played.

Well having to start your back up QB who's virtually had no playing time and then him getting hurt and having to move on to your third string QB who's played even less doesn't help. Oh and let's not forget they were playing without the best WR in the country. That's a recipe for disaster. Let's not overthink this and panic.
