@@TheBlackzmanOversimplification again. For the first centuries of it's existence, the HRE was an unified Empire, which was undone by wrong doings and decentralization. Also, it was the Protector of the Pope in Rome, who also crowned the Emperor and was the first whocalled the entity the "Holy Roman Empire". So, while the HRE didn't directly control Rome, it did so through the said protection and influence, which made it somewhat Roman. Also, everything the pope calls holy is, right? And the picture is a bit misleading, the HRE was at it's lowest point in history at that time, you wouldn't show somebody a picture of Byzantium in 1452 and tell them that that's Byzantium, right?
@@hardbassmonkey ofc I will show the real end of the Roman Empire of 1452. Byzantium is a term called by the western Catholic Countries. Officially East Rome, or Roman Empire. I do not recognise HRE or Latin Empire as the Roman Empires. However, I recognise the Popes as one of the successor state of Rome. Speaks Latin, has Rome as the capital and declared independence from East Rome.
If you want a fascinating story, look up the accomplishments of Otto von Bismarck. The man was a political and military powerhouse. He also predicted the end of the Kaiser's reign 20 years after his death, and was off by less than 6 months.
Yes everyone watched that video from extra credits. Otto von von bismarks life was very well documented and not very secretive lol. Theres a reason he's known as one of the greatest leaders in history.

WW1 sort of didn’t really end... I’ve heard one historian describe the period of 1915-1945 as “The 2nd Thirty-Years War” (albeit with a protracted cold war/stalemate for a while in the middle)

@@reyalcaraz6473That's a lie. The OKW in charge of the army squabbled and dithered about methods of attack, who should be involved, and was plagued by powerhungry men, wanting to get the Führer's favor. As a result the Kriegsmarine was a disaster throughout the entire war, and the German offensives after 1941 were ineffective as they couldn't agree on a simple course of action. This was further exacerbated by Hitler's decision to unilaterally control the army.
Can someone explain to me y Germany was blamed for WW1? They didn’t “start the fire;” World War I was triggered by a complex web of alliances, tensions, and events, but the immediate spark was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary on June 28, 1914. The first two countries directly involved in the conflict were: 1. **Austria-Hungary**: After the assassination, Austria-Hungary issued an ultimatum to Serbia, which led to Austria-Hungary declaring war on Serbia on July 28, 1914. 2. **Serbia**: Serbia was the country against which Austria-Hungary declared war, marking the beginning of the hostilities.
Well as a German I learned that Austria-Hungary started the war. Germany was their allies since both empires had long relationships between the high nobles. After Germany declared war other countries with ties to Russia declared war on Germany. Funny thing is that Russia wasn't even being able to go to war because the socialists raided them in that period. In the End the Brits wanted to see a weak Germany so they and their allies "US" declared war for no valid reason to just destroy the peak German economy at that time, because Britain was in debt and most trade would happen in Germany rather then Britain.
interestingly, there are or were three German republics as well. The Weimar Republic, the German Democratic Republic and now the Federal Republic of Germany. Where the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic during the Cold War can be called puppet states that only got their sovereignty back after the fall of the Wall and the reunion.
@@CalvinNoire some of the lands that in the present don't consider themselves German did back then. Alsace lorraine and the low countries for example were german nations. There was no Dutch identity until the revolt against the Spanish crown after some habsburg chap decided to split his titles over various heirs. He ended up giving the Spanish crown, Italian possessions and the low countries to one heir while giving the HRE and Austria to another. New habsburg chap was pretty much a tyrant and we revolted. That's when we seperated from the other German nations and their developments.
Im Unterricht soll man den weg zur Deutschen Bundesrepublik lernen, da macht es tatsächlich mehr Sinn über die Französische Revolution zureden als über das HRR.
(After WW1) The Treaty of Versailles was more or less the reason for WW2. They punished Germany way to hard. Many people even say the plan was to destroy the country completely through the treaty of versailles. Taking away Germany’s military (from 4 mio to only 100 thousand) was a big humiliation for them. The country had one of the most advanced military and it was definitely one of the biggest prides of the nation. Another problem was that in the territories that got taken away from them, there lived many ethnic Germans who didn’t want to belong to the neighboring countries. They also could’ve never payed the allies with the money they demanded from Germany. The country itself was in a huge economic crises. It was only a matter of time before another war would break out. (And don’t forget that they lost all their colonies in Africa and Asia) It was also not fair that Germany had to accept all the war guilt for a war they didn’t even start in the first place which made the people even more bitter.
Plus Germany may have been a main player. But they didn't start the War. Austria-Hungary started the War in 1914 & Germany just kept their promise of defending Austria against Russia
Imperial Germany was responsible for mass crimes against humanity too. The more comments I read from online “history buffs” the more I’m convinced that the vast majority of people are completely historically illiterate. Choosing a specific conclusion and drawing cherry picked evidence from it.
Only the winner writes the story. Please do not believe everything that is said. 🙏🏻 Greetings from Germany. Everyone knows what Germany has done, but nobody wants to know what was done to us Germans 😢
Well I will say this, alot of us where told what happened to the germans( atleast in American schools). But most of us forget over time, anyway we know what happend to german which then goes into what germany did. So I dont get what your trying to say as nothing was taken from you that you dont already have and no one deems that you guys are victims or atleast you are not victims after ww2.
didn't the Germans write tons and tons of books supported by the us against the USSR in the cold war? Germany wasn't the winner so if im right then that statement doesn't completely make sense
Lets not forget what germany did after the 2.ww. I mean its a big list full of good things. Every other country would be vanished after losing a war and end up being a 3. World country. But not germany. They somehow managed to build up the whole country again in 5 years after the war and become one of the respectable countries in europe again in a very short time. And have a look today on the cars in the traffic and guess from where the big majority comes from. And consider to count skoda and seat also for german cars because they are basically a vw.

Incorrect. When Karl the Great became Emperor, his country was called the Frankish Realm or the Frankish Empire. When his son, Ludwig the Pious, died, the 3 grandsons of Karl, split the Frankish Realm into three parts. It was the Eastern Region, ruled by Ludwig the German, which became Germany. The year one can speak of "Germany" is the year 919, because in 919 Heinrich of Saxony became the first German King over all territories and therefore formed the real German Kingdom (Roman-German Realm). When his son, Otto the Great, became Emperor and established the "Reichskirche", then Germany transformed into the German Empire, or, by its titles also called Holy Roman Empire of German Nation. (It was of course not a national state but a [progressive] medieval country in which the term "German" encompassed all offspring of Germanic tribes in the geographical area of the continental Germanic people, for example, in the HRE the Dutch were Germans, the Hessians were Germans, the Austrians were Germans, the Saxons were Germans, the Burgunds were Germans, the Swiss were Germans etc.)
@@bobbwc7011it is actually correct. Charlemagne was crowned emperor of the Romans, by the pope. That's why it's a Holy Roman Empire. Holy because he was crowned by the Pope, Roman because he was crowned Emperor of Rome, and Empire because Empire.

To say nothing of the frightening advancements the axis made in the first half. Until we (and Russian winter/reinforcement) got involved, the Germans appeared to be animated General Grievous levels of "unstoppable".
Funny enough, Germany was just as „morally wrong“ as Britain and France who basically colonized and enslaved half of the world for their own profit. The title of Roman Emperor was legitimately and officially transferred from the Greek Emperors in constantinople back to western Europe by the only person on the planet who possesses the legitimate authority to do so ; the Roman Pontiff. In Rome, The Pope crowned Karl der Große (Charlemagne) Roman Emperor on Christmas day, AD 800. The Roman Empire began with Cæsar Augustus ,continuing with Constantine the Great moving the capital to Byzantium, then continuing with Charlemagne in AD 800 . Eventually The Roman Empire continued on through the Habsburg family . Some say it ended in 1806 but in reality it continued on until the end of WWI in 1919 . The last Roman Emperor (since 1806 was referred to as the emperor of Austria) was The Blessed Kaiser Karl VIII ( I ) of The House of Habsburg. The HRE returned to the west in AD 800. The kingdom of France separated from the empire in AD 962 . That's why some historians begin the line of Holy Roman Emperors with Kaiser Otto der Große being crowned by the Pope in 962.
Lucius Junius Brutus, the founder of the Roman Republic, is Etruscan by origin, a republic is a form of government in the Etruscan society. art and antic style are an expression of their antic philosophy. The Etruscans were related to the Hittites and other undeservedly forgotten ancient Slavs. For centuries and to this day, the West has been destroying the memory of the antic heritage of numerous Slavic peoples with the aim of discrediting and enslaving them. This policy leads to constant wars.
