My husband, Mr. Concrete Man, poured concrete for 35 years. He was awarded the National Safety Council Award for 3 MILLION safe miles driven without a chargeable accident (including breaking a curb, a brick wall, running over a tree, etc.). The circumference of the earth is 40,000 miles! He watched this, and gives you two thumbs up for preparing the forms etc. WE are looking forward to the pour and finishing!! 👏✨😎

A little advice for a long and loving relationship. Always keep it fun and interesting. You both have that chemistry together. I am enjoying your videos.

I believe the concrete foundation should be at least 1 foot above the ground. I would not have that brick absorbing groundwater. As I said many times, bad decisions. You have land, what stops you to build a 2 bedroom bungalow near the old house. You'll get a better reward for your hard work.

FYI if you're considering a foundation job. The footing/walls must go down to the frostline. I'd bet that area is at least 4'. The frost lifting and settling will break stuff. It's possible the house is way to shallow too in that case keep it the same...but it's still wrong. If you're building a deck attached to the house the concrete piers should be the same frostline dept. If it's detached it can technically be whatever. Read up on the closest building codes for your location for insight

Lyss, I just found your channel. If I may: You need to work on your hammer swing. Instead of trying to lift it up as it comes up near your hips, you need to help use physics to move that weight more efficiently. Let me explain. Lifting the head straight up requires a large amount of energy to overcome gravity, but pushing the head (using the handle of course) laterally backwards behind you and back away from the job, back past your arse gives the head momentum that you can then redirect slowly into a circular motion upwards way back behind your shoulders and then continuing up over your head then allowing the weight of the head with the momentum to smash down on your target. So think of the swing as a big half circle. It's far easier to lift the head once it is moving rather than a dead lift you you are trying each time. Like golf, once you get the swing idea into your head and motor muscle memory, you can ready push that head back fast and bring it up with less lift and smash it down hard because the weight is already moving quickly from the push back. It will take a little practice, and time, but once you get the idea and momentum of the thing you'll find this much better for long term demolition work!! I'd love to be able to show you how this is done but alas I can not. Maybe try to google watching professional demolition workers. Hope this helps.

Also, you have to compact the dirt you put in that area according to Colorado state codes, and I'm pretty sure you need a permit to remove any part of the structure or add to it. Didn't think about that either did you.Compaction of dirt, in my state is 100%. It is probably not the same there.
