I was astounded by the $120 bottle of water, and then you introduced me to the $250 SHOT of tequila. For $250 I best take the shot and wake up a week later in a different country unable to remember my name dressed as the queen of england.
I must say, when we visited the Canadian Rockies last year and went up on a glacier, the water you could drink out of melt channels was pretty darn awesome! But I'd rather get it first-hand. ;-)
I can answer this without watching the video- a Mickey pretzel and a glass of water 😉 In all seriousness, thanks for continuing to put out content during this crazy time! DFB has helped me get my Disney fix as I continue to have to push back my next trip. Here’s hoping to make it to WDW sometime in the foreseeable future so I can throw down on a $100 pretzel ♥️
We went in February and didn't get the dining plan. I added up my receipts when I got home and we saved about $100/person by not getting the plan. YMMV depending on where and what you like to eat.
This was actually a great video. I wondered how far $100 would go with some foods. I'm single with no children but I did know $100 doesn't go far even by myself. I usually buy food in the parks because I'm too lazy to bring food in. This video gave some insight into how far money will go with some dining locations and snacks. I enjoy most of your videos, so keep up the great informative videos. They're always a treat to watch.
Honestly, I was surprised how affordable the food is in Disney. I have never eaten at a sit down place there though. I'm all snacks at the parks and food at Epcot though :) It truly isn't too bad.
@@RahabScarletCord yah, looks like the sit downs are extremely expensive based on the video. i was just pleasantly surprised about all the snack and small meal prices. for example a flat cheeseburger with a small soda at a local theme pakt near me would be like 25$ and is a huge ripoff. and you feel disgusting after you eat it. so when i went to disney i was so shocked at how many snacks and foods i could buy and how affordable it was. i'm also somebody who doesn't want to sit down for dinner so the snacks on the go really work for me. they are also so cute, and i just love disney to bits.
This is a really good concept for a video series! It brings me back to Rachel Ray's "$40 A Day" days. Would you consider doing a realistic $100/day or whatever amount? These aren't really realistic options (ie, 17 ice cream sandwiches, 1/2 a shot, etc) It'd really be good for some to see what they actually CAN expect to be eating for $100/day.
We just needs an occasional cold drink with lots of water and cold snacks (like ice cream or kakigori), a quick service lunch, and maybe one dine-in restaurant for dinner and we are good at DisneyWorld. We pack a few snacks and usually agree to buy one special souvenir to take home (but have Disney toys and clothes from home at our hotel to not spend the money at the parks). We haven’t done a character meal yet, but have done a few special character meet and greets inside the parks. We have tried the grocery store Mickey bars and ice cream sandwiches (both the Mickey and Millennium Falcon) and they are great, but haven’t had any at the parks. At Tokyo DisneySea we love their Minnie Mouse Raspberry and Peach “ice bar” (popsicle), curry or shrimp popcorn, alien mochi, and UKIWA buns as snacks and then one quick service meal for dinner.
Kids may not notice the difference, but the Mickey Bars available in grocery stores as part of the 90th Anniversary are not exactly the same as the ones in the parks. Obviously there is a size difference, but there is also a slight difference in both the chocolate and ice cream that makes the ones in the parks superior. Haven’t tried the ice cream sandwiches sold at the stores, so can’t compare those.
Love your videos, any chance of a video that would show people what you could buy in galaxy’s edge and prices for us mega Star Wars fans to budget before?
Who knew water could be so expensive! Fun fact about Svalbard where the water is from, it is technically illegal to die there. The reason? There are no options for burial there. Because bodies from the 1918 flu pandemic have not decomposed due to how cold it is there. Crazy, huh?
Food is so expensive. I was there with my mother this past January for Marathon weekend. We ate breakfast at the hotel food court (pop century), usually split a lunch entree or two snacks, and did eat table service for dinner at pretty moderate restaurants. Our only “really expensive meal” was dinner at Be our Guest, but was actually worth it. Was very delicious. But for 2 adults and 4 days, was over $700 for food alone.
I am always grateful for AJ & the DFB crew for my Disney FIx! I only eat one sit-down dinner per trip, and a sit-down breakfast (Gluten-free Mickey Waffles!!!) on my last day if my flight departure allows. Am going to cancel my December trip today. I trust Disney 100%, but the rest of FL refuses to get with the program! I hope my March trip will happen. I miss Disney!
My best bet whenever the dining plan and character meals come online in full capacity is to get Disney Deluxe Dining Plan and book all the character meals you can find in the parks. It will cost you a lot of money at booking but you will have more than enough food together with all the characters you can dream of in the character meals. That is how I did when I was there in WDW. Johan.
Disney is trying to squeeze every dollar it can out of it's food by offering low quality products. The hamburgers and hamburger buns are not even Wendy's quality, yet they charge three times as much!
You are allowed to bring your own food and drink, just not a cooler. You can either lug it all with you in a back pack, or rent a locker. This year we were staying off property, so since we had to über, I did a target drive up stop, and picked up all of our drinks for the trip. For the price of one 16oz bottle, you could get 6. You can also get the free water, and just add a flavor shot/packet to it. Also, many of the quick service meals are enough for two people. If you don’t mind carrying it around, it’s worth it. Soup is also cheap.
I just took my Mom to Tiffins in AK for the first time. We had the whole dining room to ourselves and I joked that I had reserved the whole restaurant just for her! We shared an appetizer, both had cocktails, entrees and we shared a dessert for around $97. Our waiter was excellent and it was the best dining experience I've had in all the parks. 10/10 I highly recommend it and will definitely be going again.
You need to go just once. Stay in the campgrounds, in a tent, or camper. The sites have grills. Buy your own food. I stay away from the restaurants in the parks, except the restaurant in Animal Kingdom with the bbq. I eat breakfast from the to go counter at Trails End buffet restaurant. Delish. And eat from their buffet or a pizza when I get back.
We get ice cream all the time while at Disney. I think next time we might go for the kitchen sink :D. Never knew it existed till now. Thank so much for your vlog
I have mixed feelings about the parks reopening during the pandemic... That being said, your videos provide a much needed escape and helpful, familiar resource. Thank you
I would gladly spend a $100 at any of the restaurants at the World Showcase. The last time I went to Epcot I went to L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante. I also would've spent that much at Restaurant Akershus before it became a character dinner restaurant.
I think this is like the 15:th video or so I watch from you guys, I JUST realiced that DFB stands for Disney Food Blogg, wich you say in every video ...
Anyone remember an ice cream pop (maybe a "Goofy Pop" ?)... About 20 years ago....best ever...chocolate ice cream filled with caramel and dipped in dark chocolate...maybe $2.50. I still look to see if they're back, every time I go to the parks.
GardenGrill is worth the money. We loved the food and scenery, and the Characters came around several times while we ate. Loved getting a Distance selfies with Chip n Dale, Mickey, and Pluto. Also, Be our Guest Restraunt is very expensive, but it was an amazing beautiful site to see, the food was fancy but good, and we saw the Beast several times. It really depends on your taste buds. We were on a tight budget but still manged to eat at those two places. We picked very carefully and made sure the menues were to I liking. We ate at other cheeper places too, and they were great too. We only ate at a sit in Restraunt 4 times on our 7 day Vacation. We mostly ate chicken stuff and pasta. The rest we ate at our hotel Wilderness Lodge, and cheeper places in parks. Blaze Pizza at Disney Springs, and the Roaring Fork at our Wilderness Lodge food was great too. We ate at all three food places at Wilderness Lodge and it was delicious. We ate at so many other places and was never disappointed in the food. Disney has good cooks. Or at least we thought so, better than the places we have around our home town.
This title is so misleading lol I thought it would be a cool meal plan / suggestion of what someone could do with a $100 food budget. This was more of a “the most expensive food in the park that you can’t afford!” And while knowing how many Mickey bars I could buy with $100 was fun it wasn’t helpful.
Next week we are staying at Fort Wilderness. One of the mornings we have breakfast reservations at Wilderness Lodge. My wife is in a mobility scooter. Can the scooter go down the walking path without any issues?
I've been traveling with my son who uses a wheelchair that he pushes himself , since he was a child. All Disney properties are extremely accessible. Probably the most accessible vacation spots in the world. Nothing to worry about. Just have fum!
I was disappointed with the cheaper food options at WDW when I went a while ago. Now that me and my friends have graduated college maybe we can have a larger budget for food 😂
Clockwork 1 then why can’t they get Mickey churros like the ones they have in Japan? Also, WDW had amazing beignets. Then I tried Disneyland’s, which were Mickey shaped, and they weren’t as good. Now I hear that WDW has gone to using Mickey shapes beignets.
UmmYeahOk The Oriental Land Company owns the Japanese parks and they do thing a lot differently, they basically spare no expense. Other than cost cutting I can’t really answer the other question. I do know that at Disneyland, locals are pretty vocal about changes, they tried to change the corn dogs once and they lost it.
i wish i could sell cupcakes for 6 bucks a piece..prices to high..ive eaten in Cinderellas castle,,paying for surroundings not the food..avg. at best.. but castle beautiful..
Idk if it was just because it was my birthday and we were there for my wedding, but I was able to get my “free birthday drink” from Starbucks in Disney Studios back In early March. The entire staff in that Starbucks was very personal and awesome.
I feel like if you’ve got the money and are willing to spend it on the hotel and food and such then Disney will treat you like royalty but if not you just get the slop at the bottom of the barrel for still a pretty penny.
Nope! I don't care what the price is, Chef Mickey's isn't worth it. The quality of the food is, maybe, the same as Denny's....on a bad day, so the only reason to go there is for the characters.
