Why has NRL media been a cesspool for so long..I can't think of any other industry that has a consistent flow of awful characters..ie you never hear about the games its a constant dumpster fire of petty vendettas and stories that were dreamed up during a boozy lunch

Yep, Fox spends hundreds of millions a year buying the broadcast rights, then puts on a bunch of tired and bitter journos to turn people off it. First show of the year, and every fan is excited about the potential for their club to do well. The season opener only days away, and what does Foxtel decide is the first story fans want to hear? An old dribbler continuing his feud with another journo. God help us. In the right hands, NRL should be one of the most coveted sports in the world. But these journos turn off more people than they entertain. These guys couldn't get anyone excited about a Beatles reunion. Smart business, Foxtel.
