Back in the 1970's when my brothers and I were growing up we needed a big car like that man has. I had 8 brothers but only 4 were at home at the time, so there were 4 brothers and myself in the back seat. A lot of the time one of us would lay on the rear deck behind the back seat. LOL We never had seat belts either. Those were the good old days! Windows down because of no air conditioning and my brothers and I singing our hearts out!
My brother had the Dinky Toy tractor set. I just checked my dad's Elgin railroad watch and found it was made in 1940 - two years before he started working as a brakeman for the CPR.
You're not going to believe I'm making fresh lemonade to take to our Christmas party tomorrow and I'm using one of those very same vintage juicers . It does work beautifully 🍋
Seeing those John Deere tractors made memories come back. Dad worked at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa from the late 1930's to 1947. He not only built tractors but when WW2 started they switched from tractors to war machines. He never told us what they built during that time. Your adventure was so very interesting. You truely never know what you're going to find when you're invited to come see what someone has.
so glad you picked up the Memorex lighter - I know exactly what the round thing is on the front as I used to work with those (data tapes of various sizes that Memorex produced from like the 60's onwards, mostly made from aluminium)
Merry Christmas 🎄 Alexander to you and your family. The two long pins are, I believe, Kilt pins. Very necessary when one wears a Kilt. Thank you for all you do ♥️
I recommend that people contact their local, county, state, special-interest groups, genealogical society, historical society, library, and non-profits about old items. Check with not just your local places but the place where they lived or where an event occurred!
Loved that Plymouth used to have a 1975 Grand Prix with a 455 under the hood was a dark blue color, that was a get a round car at almost 18 ft in length. lol Have a wonderful Christmas Alex with your family
The sketch art of Maria Innocentia Hummel began to appear in the 1930s in Germany and Switzerland, mostly pastoral drawings of children. The German art publisher Ars Sacra was involved in the early popularization of the art on postcards. Hummel's "art cards" became popular throughout Germany, catching the eye of Franz Goebel, porcelain maker and head of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik. Goebel acquired rights to turn Hummel's drawing into figurines, producing the first line in 1935.[1] The figurines were introduced at the Leipzig Trade Fair, a major European show for the industry. Goebel was known for presenting new and novel products that attracted American distributors. By the end of the year, 46 M.I. Hummel motifs were on the market, in America sold at Marshall Field & Co. of Chicago and other retailers.
Lol, "who needs a car that big." Well, I m 1 of 8 kids and we were the small family in the hood so i knew a lot of families that could use that size car. Many times had to take 2 cars to places.
Fun group of goodies! What an enjoyable couple! Happy holidays to you and your family. FYI I live in Austin, Mn, and we currently have no snow either! We had fog and rain most of the day. Strange weather this season!!!🥰🥰🥰
That's an outstanding collection Alex..🎉😍😮 Love all the diecast toys and vintage lighters/knives..🤗 Very nice haul you got from this collection..🎉 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
I love almost anything mosaic ! My great aunt had made tables herself with the glass. I don't have any when she passed away her sister sold everything but i couldn't afford to give the money she wanted we had to move. She was left the home to her and 3 sisters she split it and we couldn't pay what she wanted so we were kicked out i was 27 but was brought to that beautiful 3 story building in Chicago and lived there all my life. I was so sad to have to leave.
Alex, a very neat Video!! You sure have a lot of information up in your brain!! That is Cool!!! A very Nice Couple. I would love to hear you negotiate prices on all the items, but totally understand, it isn't our business!!!! I wish you and your whole family a Very Merry Christmas!!! May the New Year only bring Prosperity to each one of you as well!!! 🤗♥️🎅🏼🎄🎉🥶☃️❄️🎁🎈🎊🪅⛄️
I enjoyed that visits he had quite a collection. He's always like when yout what they have. And I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.😊
05:38 That's an enhanced photograph. It starts out with a photo and then the artist embellished over the top. The USA does indeed have dollar coins, but no matter how hard they've tried no one likes them. My dad had a 1966 Chrysler New Yorker - we literally put a 10-speed in the trunk at least once. Folded the front wheel over and closed the trunk. It was a gas guzzler of course, but it rode better with bad shocks than modern cars with good ones.
Hi alex I love these videos, talking to your clients and interacting ,the video was not long enough for me , hope all the family have a great Christmas, look forward to the new year🎄❤️
Omg. They had such interesting collections. It’s too bad that they spent their lives collecting and the family isn’t interested. Merry Christmas to you and yours Alex. Always fun to watch your videos.
Thanks Alex, that was so much fun. How in the world did you or he realize the y’all had met years before? Merry Christmas to you Alex, Melissa, Stephen, Jason & Abigail. May God continue to bless all of you and may he keep you safe & healthy.🙏🎅🏻🤶🏻⛄️🎄
Very nice. Yep, some of those old 70's cars were quite large. One reason they were often referred to as boats. I think that and the way they rode. I know, I had a 1973 Chrysler NewPort. Very 1st car for this 5' little gal 😂.
Merry Christmas. I liked the fob that was before Alaska was a state, that's when my parents lived up. there during Koren war my dad was stationed there.
Very interesting video. The gentleman had lots of great things to look at. The drawing of the young girl was so beautiful Very interesting collection of things to look at .Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family to yours. I hope the new year brings lots of treasures for you to find ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
@@stubstoo6331um, no, they were in Canada for over 100 years before being expelled by the British in 1755. There are actually still acadians in Nova Scotia that managed to hide during the expulsion.
@@cyndicunanan400 nothing to do with Canada . 🤦🤦 Try reading before commenting. The French in Louisiana have nothing to do with Canada. They were part of the Louisiana purchase with the French . That's where they lived after getting the hell out of Canada.🤦🤦😂🤣.
@@cyndicunanan400 BTW back then Canada wasn't a country they where a territory . In fact Canada became a country the same year the United States purchased Alaska something else someone got wrong in this video.🤦🤦😂😂
@@stubstoo6331 I was just pointing out that the acadians lived in Canada (then British North America) for over 100 years and still have a presence here today. They have a proud heritage here just as their cousins the Cajuns do in Louisiana. Sorry if I was confusing.
All the best to you and the family Alex,I had the same cigarette holder but mine was a map of Scotland 🏴 My very first bike was a honda dream 250 cc,back when you could ride a 250 on a provisional license, great bike,a classic, when they brought out the next one ,the "super dream " i was so disappointed and hated the changed style !
Alex, we still use the $1 coins here in the States!... Especially in the Big Cities! 🏢🏢 We usually use them for the train ticket vending machines. For instance, you will put in a $5, and the machine will give you a ticket, 2 x $1 coins and a quarter! Next time you need to buy a ticket, you can use those 2 x $1 coins + 3 quarters = $2.75 per ticket... It makes commute much faster than using bills all of the time!! The $1 coins are still coming out with many different beautiful scenic depictions! 🤔 😊
Merry Christmas to you and your whole family (blood and acquired)!!! You have gifted me many hours of entertainment and laughter. Thank you so much!!!!
We were glad to have big cars, we did need them big. Not as many deaths. You could have a crash and get out to check the damage. Today's card are so light and thin that a fender bender could kill you.
Always enjoy joining you on your adventures! I was the first to like because as soon as I see your notification pop up I stop whatever I’m watching and switch over to your channel!
