i live in birmingham, bought a 2014 nissan juke and getting quoted 5k for insurance, any tips? nice video by the way.

a juke is quite an expensive car to insure for a first driver ( i’m assuming you are) this is because they’re mini Suvs so they’re quite big in size compared to hatchbacks and the insurance group for them is roughly from groups 8-25 depending on what year and specific trim your juke is. If you don’t want to pay that much try looking for insurance deals using many different comparison companies to get the best price and you should probably opt for getting a black box as without one it’ll be very expensive.Also you could try phoning up certain insurance companies like marmalade and admiral because sometimes they offer you good deals when you call them and if you say “ i have a deal from so and so for £X can you do any better?” they could offer you a better price. If I am in a filter lane and I can only go left/right, do I need to signal?

The best way to decide whether to signal or not is to think, will others benefit from your signal. If the answer is yes, then you should signal. In the example you gave, pedestrians and other road users may not know that the lane you're in is a filter lane, so a signal may help.
