Good Day, Here are my thoughts on this. I’ve been trucking since 96’, I don’t see a Covid situation happening with the dock workers strike ever, here’s why. - Warehouses are full - Plenty of truck capacity - Rates will plummet if this strike last more than two weeks. - The hurricane bought trucking a few weeks, otherwise rates would have dropped immediately. - Really it’s a perfect storm, low consumer demand because they are broke, warehouses full and trucking capacity very plentiful. If this strike does in fact happen, we will see massive exits in trucking daily/weekly. I believe we will see rates 30% or lower very soon. Sure I’m making many assumptions but I never look at the bright side, plan for the worst case scenario, always. Stay safe.

I think you’re looking at it all wrong. It’s actually gonna make rates increase think about it.

@@Delliofreight Good Evening, I wish I were honestly. Again after many many years in our industry we are at an unprecedented turning point in the trucking. We have had massive immigration in which trucking had absorbed or taken the brunt of job loss to the immigration issues. We still entirely too much truck capacity which has a direct correlation to the rates we are seeing and a consumer base which is broke. We are no question an import country, we manufacture very little and need the ships to survive especially in trucking. Prior to Covid I would without question expect a rate increase across the board given the strike of the ILA. What we need to understand is the immigration and influx of workers to tune of millions has offset any positive financial impact any strike or natural weather disaster usually had on trucking. We haven’t even spoke of the truck drivers who will look for work elsewhere within in our industry until the strike is over. The longer strike continues the more negative impact it will have on trucking. Remember the truck drivers that work the port are not part of the union and will need to work. That’s another segment we just don’t need coming into the main stream of trucking now. This will protect and even drive rates lower much lower the longer it continues. I have always looked at issues from the most negative and hope for the most positive in order to protect myself and family. Never plan for best case scenario, I hope things work out for the best for all of us. I just don’t see it, many Americans are broke and won’t buy anything meaningful for the near future. Thanks for the feedback. Stay safe.

Hope so you a right man, but the one thing that bothers me is , after the lockdowns people had money to spend for the items that we hauled. But right now the credit cards are maxed out, people have no money to spend, not sure if there gonna such hot demand for the goods to haul. I hope so, we’ll see Nice informative channel, subscribed.
