What Would Mario Kart 9 Look Like? 

For the kart customization, a good middle ground could be still having the option to customize the wheels, karts, and gliders, but there are also preset kart combinations you can choose in order to waste less time. It’d be especially cool if you could save and name your own kart presets, and maybe even share them with other players!

Tracks I imagine coming back should be Airship Fortess, Toads Factory, Wario Collisuem, and more.

Keep the 12 player races for a revamped online ranked mode and make a 24/32 player mode for a social playlist along with the option to do 4 player online coop, keeping the competitive players and casuals happy 🤝

The only thing I want in a new Mario Kart game is a Double Dash mode. And of course if would awesome to have powerups for the specific characters where mixing and matching can compliment each other or balance things out.

I could see Nintendo adding the Wonder Flower into the game, where If someone in last place gets it, then everyone in the track has to deal with a whacky version of the Track

Another thing for characters: Different skins per costume (not customizable, similar to the Yoshis). That way, Mario can be normal, metal, fire, etc. It would also make it so that Peachette and Pink Gold Peach don't have their own full slots. So, all kinds of characters could be thrown into the mix. Enemies like the Goomba, Spike, (Hammer/Boomerang) Bro., side characters like E. Gadd, and maybe some favorites from the Mario RPGs, as well as from the Wario games.

I hope they include a demolition derby mode That would be badass

If they wanted to increase the number of racers at once again, I think realistically, 16 would be a fitting number.

On the topic of new characters for Mario Kart 9, I would like to see WarioWare character make their debut for the roster. Characters like Mona, Jimmy T, and Ashley would definitely diversify the roster and give players more options to pick favorites.

They should just make “Super Mario Kart” that’s just the ultimate Mario kart with all the characters like smash ultimate. And they just keep porting it to every console and when the new console comes out they just port the latest update from the previous console to the new console and end updates for the previous console and just update the super Mario kart that they ported to the new console. Same with smash bros.

I really want to see mission mode return from MKDS and a track maker that only allows for offline only as a feature and since it was an used scraped feature in super Mario kart would be very nice to see as well with the MKW unlock mechanic.

Id really love to see character specific items return from tour and double dash. I think it would bring a fun element of strategy to selecting characters aside from the basic stats. It would also allow for a lot more new and returning items without feeling too overwhelming

Well, I think the new mechanic would be that you can stop your gliding. or if you are in the air you could just push a button and the glider will reappear.

More characters, choice of items, and I'd really like to set how many laps per level. I'd like to do a grand prix of 25 or 50 laps each

Either more racers, or the whole "wonder" gimmick. Mario Wonder showcases how it adds an entirely new layer as a gimmick to the otherwise stale mario jump n runs. The new switch should have faster RAM and storage, meaning it could pull off something like some of you might've seen on the Ratchet and Clank / Spider man PS5 trailers where new areas got loaded within portals for a smooth transition. Anyway, we should see a revolution in graphics quality.

I think a good idea for a new gimmick would be the ability to drill under the course like the original idea for Mario kart 8’s gimmick

I agree we need more unique characters, but some I can (or would like to) see get the axe are the baby princesses, Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Metal Mario, and Pink Gold Peach. We don't need repeats like them hogging slots. (Tanooki and Cat could be relegated to costumes) We could absolutely get more enemy racers too. Goomba, Hammer Bro, Boom Boom snd Pom Pom, Spike, Chargin' Chuck, and so many more!

As long as it's not Nintendo Kart, I'm good. There's so many new characters, new gimmicks, new modes that can be done in the games. These are great ideas!

I think a great idea for the coin powerup would be, if you get a coin when you are at max coins you would get a 1UP instead of a coin, which will act like a mushroom. This would make it more useful and a great way to add the 1UP to the game.

I would love older karts to make a return as well. The hurricane, poltergeist 4000, that excavator, flame flier, wario bike, wild wing, and b dasher mk 2. Should all make a return

In my opinion, you could have the new gimmick be public mods and custom tracks. This would allow you to create whatever mode you want, expanding creativity by a whole bunch.

Even if they don’t do 24 racers, I still think increasing it by 4 to make it 16 racers would be cool.

Another few things for battle mode: -Add versions that are untimed, but without extra lives. We lost this from the classic versions. -Add some classic battle courses, such as an improved Block Fort. Also: Fake item boxes should return. Not the GameCube/Wii version, but the original, deceptive and pure evil version from the N64. Even if it's too cruel for regular races, it should be a Battle item at the very least.

Maybe they should add “Movie Mode,” where everything would 100% look like the film and that all of the characters would have their actors' voices.

a Nintendo Kart wouldn't be that bad of an idea if they took some ideas from how Sonic and Sega all Stars Racing did it anyway, I think that tracks that didn't make it like DS Rainbow Road, DS Luigi's Mansion, DS Airship Fortress, Wii Toad's Factory and more will make it to the next game and would be nice to see new characters like E.Gadd, K. Rool, Princess Shroob maybe, Fawful, Goomba is an idea I like, Kirby, and so much more and even include the Tour characters that didn't make it like Dixie Kong, Nabbit or King Bob-Omb tho the elephant nose as a power up sounds to me like worse version of the Leaf from 7, but items like the Mega Mushroom and POW block would be nice to see return and add new once like, Ice Flower and so on and I don't care if people say Boo can't be playable cause it's an item, it would be hilarious seeing a Boo steal from a Boo X3 I say the Kart customisation can return but add an option to add your setup to favorite, so you can easily find it later if you decide to change your setup, and add returning karts and bikes from previous games, like the tall vehicle R.O.B. used in DS or the Bullet Bill bike from Wii and take something from CTR and mix it with Wii where some can be unlocked through the Time Trial but also through a shop so your coins can be more useful, then they can even let us hold more than 10 coins, per track, or just keep giving us coins to use in the shop even if the counter don't go past 10 and could even give us some coins when finishing races and cups, how much depending on how well you did it in a race or what CC you did and add a reverse cup, I want that so much!

For the gimmick, I was thinking of something like an AR portal item that reveals hidden paths for a set period of time depending on your place in the race 1st would last around 5 seconds and 12th will last around 30 (Nintendo feel free to steal my idea, I totally wouldn't mind!)

If there's gonna be 24 racers, please, please take the blue shell away haha. Or at least nerf the item system ... Have some cool items, but less frightening, cause with 24 mario kart players would basically be frantic mode every race and everyone will go absolutely wild while racing..

Here is what I would love for Mario Kart. Title: maybe SUPER Mario Kart Double Dash or something like that. Customization: customization for each combination of characters and vehicles should be different from others, having their own unique parts to choose from. No two combination sets being alike. Each two characters get a variety of parts and paint jobs to choose from. Coins: Still function in the racing like in 7 and 8, but also, all the coins you collect in the race will also be used as currency to buy more parts and paint jobs. Courses: Like in 7 and 8, but also maybe add in eventually almost if not all the courses from all past games. And maybe some courses if not all of them go through changes during races Special Items: Special items should return. Like the bros' fireball bursts and Bowser's giant shell and maybe new special items for each character like Mario having a cape feather to fly over everyone and gain a good boost in speed. But it would only last shortly or til you slam the ground blowing away all around you. X3 Stats: Stats should also be able to be tweeked some after you select your vehicle parts. Like say if you want to reduce your weight for the sake of more handling or your traction for better acceleration. But only a limited amount to keep the game balanced. We don't want the speedy cool vehicles like b dasher and P wing to suffer like they did in 8 Deluxe Trophies: For More difficult classes you finish and win, the trophies should get bigger, shinier and more detailed. And If you get a perfect score in a cup, instead of a gold trophy, you oughta get a SHINY SPARKLY FANCY DETAILS PLATINUM TROPHY. Most importantly, it needs to have all karts bikes mtvs and combos worthy of being awesome in competitive online. Speed vehicles being REALLY speedy to make up for low acceleration. And MAYBE a decent mini turbo in case they get slammed alot. Also keep 200cc and all cup tour

4 of the cups that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came with at launch were DLC for Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. (I don't get why everyone says MK8 launched with 48, it launched with around 32)

They have to expand on Nintendo Verse charaters and courses to make this a bigger better game than MK8D. Like they did with Link and Hyrule Circuit and F-Zero but add Captain Falcon, Animal Crossing & Excitebike. They can have the core built around Mario Kart with new MK courses characters vehicles tyres gliders ect. But now they can add a Pokemon course with Pikachu, Kirby Circuit with Kirby character. Add maybe Zelda Gannondorf ect more courses in Zelda franchise from the different worlds. Star fox related, metroid aswell with Samus ect. Icarus Sonic i dont know. Here they have more than enough room to be creative. Maybe bring some OG Diddy Kong racing and Sonic Racing & more F-Zero content. But they have to think out the box. Because now they have MK8D to outshine and the way to get people on the new game and new system will have to be bigger content and more variety. I would even do season passes like Fortnite. So Alts can be added, cosmetics for characters, tyres, gliders, vehicles, player banners, and even season related to a specific verse. This would be the best marketing way which makes sense for Nintendo and the consumer. Progression based whether LAN or Online ect. This can work on also battle courses and bring back all the retro items so it can be customized off the base the game. Also expand the racing count from 12 to 16 for example to start with. So its still manageable for retro courses even for the smaller tracks. For the newer tracks they could have 20, 22, 24 racers just like Forza F1 or whatever. Online have solo, duo, trios, quads, quints 2 teams of 8 aswell for example. On ranked competitive mode Regional, Continentally and globally. Which would improve the competitive scene. Also maybe even include some cash prizing events for all these areas like Fortnite for example per season, so seasonal based Spring, Summer, Autum, Winter events 1 being the most important one being in the Summer Event for example so annually. They can really expand on this and most definitely can have a formula to make this an incredible new installment.

I still feel like they need to keep in simple because the simplicity is what makes it so good for everyone

They should do a Reverse Mode (When you race in the track in reverse, like in Tour) instead of Mirror Mode.

On the new hardware it'll look amazing.

I think Mario kart 9 will be more like Tour where you can get loads of characters, karts and gliders and upgrade them aswell as seasons as will give people incentive to keep coming back and is a big part of gaming now

I've been saying this for years (although the last mario kart i played is Mario Kart 8 Wii U). Coins should be more important on the game, you should collect up to 15 coins, and when you do... you should be able to buy random items with it. And if you have 0 coin and you hit a kart, your kart should turn around for a sec (Just like in the original Mario Kart in Super Nintendo)

I'm hoping for a custom track creation system a bit like geometry dash or super mario maker. Though maybe thats a whole game in of itself.

My only priority is to add the other four Smash Bros (Samus, Kirby, Fox, and Pikachu) to the roster.

I don't care if it goes down to 24 tracks and 5 battle courses for next game, as long as they massively overhaul the OPTIONS. Let us have 4 players per Switch for local / online play. Stock Battles like the N64. Elimination Coin Runners like the DS. For versus races and battles, allow us to choose exactly how many CPUs - from 0 to 11. Allow multiplayer time trials where there is no collision and each player is just doing the racing lines. Ghosts can be saved in this mode. Other similar things like that!

I think instead of 24 racers, you can choose how many racers you want, whether it’s a one on one or free for all with all 24.

I want the speed to get up to anywhere from 250cc to 400cc, I want the courses to be longer, have narrower tracks and have steeper backing turns, I want way more tricks, and I want halfpipes and other gnarly Tony Hawk business to come back in full swing AND have way more incentive to perform such tricks. I feel like we are totally getting a Mario Kart Ultimate next and the booster course pass was only done to make money and bide more time. The game could have every character, every track in MK history, every battle mode/stage, etc. Plus new nitro courses and characters

I think Mario Kart 9 should introduce a fourth vehicle type: hoverboards! I know we had Sonic Riders, but there hasn’t been a new Riders game since the Kinect ruined the series. So Nintendo could take inspiration from Riders and improve upon the hoverboard gameplay.

I wanna see some Pokemon in Mario kart 9, like Lucario or Mewtwo. They have characters from animal crossing, legend of Zelda and splatoon, so I think it would make sense.

It asinine that people are mad about the koopalings being on the roster having there own slot when there non mario characters on the roster to being whit. The koopalings are true mario characters and deserves to be on the roster more then helf the roster in mario kart. Non nintendo charters don't belong on the roster and is taking up space from true mario characters or characters from other mario spinoff games like donkey Kong country, warioware, Luigi mansion etc... If you're not getting rid of guest characters the koopalings are not going anywhere. Just because you don't like koopalings don't mean everyone share the same opinion like you do.

Have to disagree with the Kart customization not only would Nintendo get a shit load of hate but they would just bring back what Mario Kart Wii did to players, stay with one bike and one character literally it will repeat history with Daisy and Funky filling every lobby with the Machbike and Bowser Bike so yeah they wouldn't remove it. It's just more balanced overall and gives players a lot more creative input in the game.
