I am livid about that poor little girl. How dare they ignore the parents wishes, but espicially that child's wishes and safety! In Ottawa, ON you can only sit BESIDE Santa, cannot sit on his lap for that reason that it is inappropriate and can be dangerous! I am so sorry to that mom and that the little girl went though this.

Peaches saying how she was never really a tom boy or a girly girl and just more of a ghost child is exactly what I was. I've never been able to properly describe it. I've found that happening a lot when I listen to you guys. You explain something in a different way or give a new to describe things I would have never thought of describing or explaining. Its helped with not only my relationship and having a better clearer way to communicate with my partner but also in just my day to day life. Thank you for all you guys do

Yesterday when this episode uploaded my partner and I both received the notifications. When we checked our phones we smiled and said simultaneously "its family message" because you guys have become such a big part of our family routine. I had to stop about 30min in and just sit in quiet and think. I truly resonated with the emailer and struggled so much feeling like I could never have a bad day or there was no ‘safe space’ for me to feel it out. It was always “yeah you’re going through it but at least you have things going for you I have nothing.” I felt shameful for having any struggles at all. In the end I made the right choice even though it hurt.

Chris bringing up how people evolve and grow is a huge thing I bring up. How they always mention that love is a choice. When it comes to a marriage, you are two individuals choosing to love each other. You are two different people, no matter how much in common you may have. But you also choose to love that person as they evolve. No one is ever going to be the person they were when they got married. You either love their evolvement, or respect who they become as long as they aren't harming themselves or others. And that they love and respect you along the way.

The first 20 seconds was exactly what I needed to hear in this moment! I am deciding to come off my antidepressants and anxiety meds, and I feel being able to be transparent is the best communication technique. I know when my bad days come, I can rely on the support from my husband because I’ve asked him to look out for me when those days arrive. ❤

children have an excellent intuition that they are in danger, when they feel uncomfortable around someone you need to listen because as adults we lose that ability so we dismiss it. I had a situation where there was a family friend who made me feel uncomfortable, and i remember my gut telling me "do not ever be alone with this man" many years later i realised that he was grooming me and he had touched me inappropriately even when other people were present, thats how bold and confident he was about it. My parents were totally clueless when i told them. Hearing a girl say they are uncomfortable and you are forcing her to do it anyways, you are teaching her to disregard that instinct, thats how you get women who end up in dangerous situations/relationships as adults, cause you taught her to service everyone elses needs and to ignore her own.

My husband did that shit on my spiritual beliefs and instead of putting my foot down I listened to him and just stopped doing it. I lost myself and so many years down the road now. I realized that was the downward spiral to our marriage that we are dealing with now

I once heard the Broken Plate Analogy and it fits in with the 1st email. Communication is a HUGE thing in a relationship. If you can't talk to your partner about everything what is even the point?? For me as a kid Santa was very weird. Not bcs I didn’t celebrate Christmas but bcs the idea of Santa and what he does. The songs and stories about Santa used to scare me not excite me. Personally for me I was happy to find out that Santa was not real.

"Santa's creep me out! We were at the mall at Christmas time and Santa walked over to see my 2 year old niece. Or so he made it seem. He really came over to tell my 15 year old daughter she was, "Looking good." I was so digusted and pissed off. I said, "Sir. She is 15, that is not ok." We left immediately.

We don't do Santa pictures because it creeps me out too. When I was a teen I worked at Walmart and the Santa was like the creepiest dude that worked there. They could've picked anyone else. I would also sue.

It may be too late after posting for you to see this. Peaches, you will find lessons from the past in moments you get triggered. I'm 51 and I buried that stuff decades ago and when I started therapy again that stuff came right back up- I literally began to relive my past in my dreams. I tried to ignore it and it made me worse. Please realize you then, the mistakes are learning opportunities. At least that is what my Thrapist said.. lol Don't get upset with yourself after you cast that arrow and those things sneak up on you.

Is holiday truly so important to people because I honestly have no idea, I'm a jehovah witness if that helps clarify anything. I personally don't understand them. Also the poor kid that this happened to such a messed up thing
