The mom voice came out in my thoughts towards the impatient person. “you sit there quietly and wait your turn like everyone else. You are not any more important than anyone else in here and need to work on your patience. “
Core memory: I was at McDonalds with my parents when I was about 7. A man with obvious learning disabilities pulled out a letter and asked my parents to read it because he couldn't read. They acted like he was invisible. I then took the letter and read it to him and then cried myself to sleep that evening. People can be cruel af.
Oh tell me about it…when people are rude to kids, old people, people with any type of neurodivergence or just taking their time…i would get involved and not be as nice as this lady either! Good thing im not in customer service because in my mind I already threw food on his face…im in Canada and Ive seen a woman act like this to the mother of a child with down’s syndrome at the pharmacy and she called the child the name of an animal I wont repeat…in front of my mom, me and the parent and child. Needless to say that person, my mother and me got in a heated argument and were so so apologetic to the parent and their child for having to go through this…people are shitty and you have to stand up to them. Period.
Knowing me I’d go have lunch with the guy with Down syndrome, they got nice takes on life. I Sumtimes wonder if us normies are actually handicapped, and the ppl with Down syndrome are the superior. So wholesome of ppl man.
@@Dredd5000 There was a Christian rapper who had a song that said, Jesus is My best friend, best friend. So, He's my best Friend 😁. I cried bc I feel bad for people like this , this is a real thing and it’s honestly very sad that it is continued on to this day that people are doing this to disabled people. Please if you see someone do this stop them!
When I saw that episode I was like, "Bruh I'll knock your damn teeth out you don't leave the boy alone" and I swear everyone on the TV looked right at me lmao
Oh those are my "favorite" type of customers. I reject to give them what they want, so I take longer. They are welcome to leave, I don't like their dirty money. Poor guy, much love 💕
Him interrupting her from taking his order is where the delay is. These poor servers can’t tell those type of customers to "shut up and Fkn wait or get out!" 💆🏻♀️ So glad the lady customer spoke up. 🙌🏽
Yeah but they recreate real situations. Most of the time they're telling a story where the same shit happened and then they re-act that story to see what others would do. So even if this is staged, it happened somewhere in reality.
In my old work we had a lovely group of people with down syndrome, who'd come in to watch a movie together every Sunday afternoon. They were so fun to talk to and I looked forward to our chats while they ordered their food. However, I cannot tell you just how many times I had to raise my voice to people in the queue behind. People would tell them to hurry up (and tell me to serve them first..) but as I used to always tell them "you take all the time you need, because anyone who has an issue can take it up with me. And anyone who does take an issue will be told where to shove it". The lack of compassion people have for their fellow human beings is embarrassing. Just to mention, I would always make sure those complaining wouldn't be late for their movie (but it's always the weirdos that turn up an hour early that complain the most).
I have been told several times that my son possibly could do better in an inclusive kindergarten. But given that the next one is 45 minutes away each drive and they have limited capacity... I always tell people who say that that my son (who is healthy but struggles a little with larger groups of kids) doesn't need to take such a place away from a child who might really need that support they provide. And as I have seen more and more children who actually are looking for a place in an inclusive school or kindergarten, I get extra furious when people tell me to think of my son first. Ofc I do, I am his mother. But in those situations I can't just think that my son deserves this more than a child with severe down syndrome or a child in a wheelchair. That would be selfish and unreasonable. Thank you for being so lovely to everyone of your customers though. That's not common :)
I also think it's important for other kids to be around kids with down syndrome or other mental challenges. Like that kids can learn how to treat them and how to create a space safe for everyone. I'm living next to a kindergarten for everyone. Every group has neurotypical and neurodivergent kids and kids with down syndrome or kids in wheelchairs. I love that. That kindergarten is quite new. And they have bunnies, turtles, ponies and dogs (and the animals get taken care of even at weekends). I love that the kids learn also the responsibility of taking care of animals. I love whenever I go by and a child chats with me about the most random stuff. One girl even explained to me that one pony died and why and what happens when someone dies. So the kids even learn about death in a healthy way. Oh and they grew vegetables. They even learn that! And the kindergarten often brings something new for them. I often see new stuff in their garden. It's really a perfect kindergarten. And I only heard great things about it from other parents.
I couldn’t be on that show because I’d have thrown hands. People are so damn cruel and heartless. The lady who tried to tune him out did far better than I would have. Props to the waitress ❤❤
But legally he is wasting everyones time he is required to have a guardian it would be literally helpfull for all of them to just take others order first so in the meanwhile he can decide what item to pick
Worked retail for 3 years. Had impatient jerks like that in line and would be even friendlier to everyone else, making them look even worse to the point other customers would call him out so I didn't have to. They didn't always, but they'd make sure to make loud comments to me about being so upbeat when "dealing with people all day."
What show or series is this from? I absolutely love Lauryn and her 2 customers that won’t take no bull from the unintelligent geezer! I have to see the ending of the woman putting him in his place! I just know it was gold 💕
100%... God did not make everyone perfect nobody's perfect. We all have issues that we do or do not know about yet. Just have to be patient and if you can't be patient then don't be at that restaurant. there's something called fast food
I'd do the same as the waitress , always treating ppl with kindness ! If I were a customer I'd discreetly go to that gentlemens table and give him the lip lashing of his life ! ! ! 😡😡😡
My son has down syndrome. I have met some of the kindest, most wonderful people in the world with my son. I have also met some of the most horrible, rude, selfish people in the world too. We had an experience like this at Walmart, but the woman didn't realize I was his mother. I could've slugged her. I called her out on being so rude, and I think when I actually spoke up it embarrassed her. She left her groceries and never checked out. I just don't understand people sometimes.
I'd really like to think there aren't people out there like that.. are we all see people who are special needs and think what can we do to help them not that they're a burden or slow or whatever.. makes me sad.. even just this one that I knew was fake made me sad.
The sad thing is jerks like this really exist. My big brother was in a wheelchair his whole life and he was bullied tremendously for it. One time this boy and his friends took my brother to the field at school, took his wheels off his wheelchair and left him there. My brother was stuck there for hours until his friend found him and got him to my mom. My mom reported the incident to the principal and a meeting was set up between the bully and his mom and my mom and brother. My mom saw the bully’s mother walk out of her car, pull a cheap little wheelchair out of her trunk, and sat in it and pretended to be handicapped. My mom called her out on this in the meeting but in the end the principal caved and the bully got let off with zero punishment. My brother had to change schools and be held back so my other brother could look out for him better.
this breaks my heart, my little sister has down sydrome and seeing people treat her or anyone else poorly is completely unacceptable! we need more people in the world like that lady who stood up for him!
I don’t know if people move as slow as they do in these clips, all of them feel like an eternity, it’s certainly as fast as I’d be speaking up and standing up Hellllll Noooo
You can tell the people who are just so full of themselves and are easily annoyed. That guy was such a dick. The server did everything right and so did the lady at the table.
I like the way she helped this customer and had the time to help him with his order. That other customer was ignorant and rude she was so awesome how she handled the situation 👏👏👏 hats off to her. I'm impressed 🤗
I’d have my whole move to his table… or him to our table…. And then the gentleman could wait ..for all of us to order… and for some reason we would have lots of questions about the meals😊
Bless that man’s heart for having courage to come out and live like a normal person…Just for a jackass that that idiot disrespects him I bet if he was in his shoes he would want compassion as well People love to talk down to others with disabilities but if the show was on the other foot…let’s see how much they can take
imagine being in a "rush" and having the time to order food in a sit down restaurant i know its fake but thats just so odd to me. Regardless of the condition of the man he is another human being and deserves to be respected as such that is just the way that they were born they didnt ask to be born that way and they deserve to be treated like human beings too and not some kind of animal. Good on that woman for speaking up.
The thing is is that asking questions about the food is part of a waiters job. Asking about what the food is like is literally the most normal question to ask a waiter at a restaurant lol
OMG my son has down syndrome he is the sunshine of our life and brightens up the whole entire family everyday and everywhere I go everybody is amazing and wonderful if I ran into somebody like this I would probably hurt them to be quite honest I would physically hurt them..... I know that it's terrible and horrible to say but I could not hold myself back from lashing out on somebody who discriminates against anybody with a disability I would seriously probably hurt them
The way he said people with down sdyrum have a gardin made me cry how and the way the boy said I'm trying to enjoy my night made me cry even more REMEMBER JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE DISABLED OR HAVE A DISABILITY DOESN'T MEAN YOUR LESS THAN EVERYONE ELSE OK
The waitress, the angry person and the young man with Down Syndrome are all actors. This show “what would you do “ is created to illicit the feelings and comments of the bystanders. These folks especially the “bad” guy are amazing actors because they have to improvise, and just say enough to *et a reaction. I used to watch this show all the time
I worked with Downs adults and I can tell you they are the sweetest most caring humans .And they are not dumb they learn just as everyone else it just takes a little longer.Lord help a person if I ever see someone treating a downs person that way.
It must be a little scary to play the bad guy for WWYD since people will take that out of context. I bet they can’t wait for the reveal. Like they must honestly be sweating out of impatience
