It's difficult to return because of the shame of sin and guilt, and it almost seems wrong to just come back to fellowship with God and think everything is okay and nothing bad ever happened.... But those feelings and thoughts are demons trying to keep you from God. Because returning to God and it be as if you never sinned is exactly what the gospel and salvation is In the first place. Remember, Jesus said that, even if our brother sinned against us 7 times in a day, and repented, we are to forgive them. The greater meaning of this, is that Jesus is saying that God forgives us in the same way. And also in the prodigal son, the Father ran out and embraced the son before the son could even say his apologies. God wants you to return to Him, it's the whole point of everything. In fact not returning because of guilt is unbelief, by not believing God's words and promises. It's the demons telling you not to return Jesus declare "it is finished" and "there is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus" And "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us" And also don't let bad theology hinder you For many say " you must repent first".... And they mean that you must clean up your act and stop sinning first before approaching God. That is works not faith. This is what repentance is. The true definition of repentance is "Turning to God from sin" Not from sin turning to God The order is critical. Look to Christ and live. Jesus said "repent and believe" In that order ...repenting is turning to God for forgiveness. Believing is our behavior, connected to sanctification and obedience Hope this helps, God bless
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

II Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted-you may well put up with it!
