So what if a guy got injured on bs and cleaey deserves said award? Like if jokic averaged 30 10 10 and couldn't be all star cause he missed the first 20 sum games cause he was dealing with a serious injury? I can see if they load managing or whatever but no one is doing that. I think it should be increased or have exceptions for different injuries or reasons like James harden and Wiggins having to deal with very very serious family problems . Na mean fam?

@@justinholland6132 if he doesn't have the availability, he doesn't deserve the award. injuries suck, but playing games is the most important part of being an NBA player. players shouldn't be rewarded based on what they would or might have done if they weren't hurt and actually played. just like how CP3 shouldn't have a championship ring just because he could've won with the rockets if he didn't get hurt. if a guy is literally as valuable to his team as you and me for over 1/5 of the season (missing 17 games), he doesn't deserve the accolades.

This makes me appreciate Kobe's 81 a lot more. Remember, Kobe's 81 came during an era of basketball that was MUCH slower paced than today. Proof: The pace in the 2005-06 season was at averaging exactly 97 points/game for a team. Just last season, the pace was averaging at an estimated 115 points/game. The fact that Kobe scored 81 in a slower paced era with tougher defense is honestly more impressive than what guys are doing today. Don't get me wrong, scoring 50+ today is still impressive, but just imagine what Kobe would do in today's pace of basketball. I honestly think he could break Wilt's record

You can be tired of people saying it but when you can’t hand check, contest shots properly, and everything is spaced out because of rule changes, it greatly diminishes the effectiveness of defense. Most superstars don’t even play defense as much as years past because they believe offense is what fans want to see. Superstars flopping for foul calls. Even asking players to play 65 games minimum to receive awards is met with criticism from the players. They don’t play defense and they get paid too much to give a damn. NBA ratings falling off a cliff prove my point. The fans are sick of it.

I really like the 65 game rule. By eliminating eligibility for accolades if you don't play enough you're keeping things fair. But I'm not unreasonable; if I were in charge of the NBA I'd be willing to remove the 65 game rule as long as games players sat out were counted towards their averages as 0s across the board. IMO sitting out a game for load management feels like stat padding. Players are eliminating low stat games to rest so they can hit bigger numbers in the next game. Percentages go up; Averages go up, but sportsmanship and entertainment go down.

Nah, it ain't much enough. If u make it 50, they'll just play 50 games. Dude these guys are lazy af, it ain't only Kawhi anymore, now all the other stars started sitting out. If it continued we would see them play just 40-50 games, as a fan are satisfied with that?

@@majesty1842i agree these guys have taken the load management bs way too far. But looking at Haliburton's case I find it unfair he's going to miss on an all NBA selection just for two games. He's definitely an all nba caliber player this season and 50 games is enough to prove it IMO. But I get your point and kinda agree with it in most scenarios

The NBA needs to adopt the fiba rules. That way it brings back some of the old school ways of hooping, but also putting a twist on it as well. There have been multiple nba players luka included saying that its way more difficult to score in the euro league. They do that and bring back hand checking watch the game grow into the most prosperous era in its history. But they won't do anything like that, and their killing the league by promoting this garbage they call basketball.

tell that to old heads that loved physical games and less skilled players on the court seeing 3 point era arrived right on their face. it hurt their BIASED, but it's here, either they take it, or leave it, and guess what ? NBA grew larger since then, players got paid more, fans loved the game, and them old heads are stuck in the past.

I don’t think the defense is as bad as everyone says. Offense is just too elite now. Defense is honestly more skilled than ever, just more rules that make it harder to play as aggressive as the 2000s and before

This is the first year for that new rule, I'm pretty sure they will be able to find middle ground to make it better for the players, fans and the NBA

I will always stand behind shorting the season. The true problem is injuries and trying to prevent injuries. Making players play more games is pointless if the stars gonna be injured by the time the season is at is most hyped. Especially when most people don’t watch all 82 games unless your not a casual and the casual audience is always gonna be where the most money is when you are as big as the nba, because theres more casuals than hardcore fans. I understand they want more money but nobody is spending money to watch there favorite team live 82+ (including playoffs).

Personally, I don't blame Damian Lillard for taking a step back this year. He's on a completely different team in another conference where the Bucks have already changed coaches before the middle of the season, and the coach they picked has a reputation with being extremely inept in the playoffs. With all the turmoil the Bucks have gone through in the past months, Damian Lillard's slight scoring decrease should be the least of their problems.

People need to give some love to siakam. Hes been amazing with the pacers and yet never gets any credit. Hes clearly a better and more versatile player than bam, banchero, randle, scottie and brown yet got robbed of an all star AGAIN... Siakam since having his first practice with the pacers: Averaging 24-7-5 with only 2 turnovers Shooting 60%FG and 45% from 3 Hes a +72 in that span 5-3 record despite tough squedule Ended the sixers 6 game win streak with embiid. Ended the suns 7 game win streak His only losses were single digit losses against boston, new york and sacramento All with haliburton either not playing or on minutes restriction
