I want to go the other way, power to manual everything for the later style interior. Getting really hard to find the parts here in the Midwest. Everything is being crushed
@@tandjperformancesouthflorida nobody wants them here really either, but i have completely gutted my crew cab short. Carb'ed 500 Cadillac, and a 4l80e with a stand alone control. I was going to use an sm465 with a ranger torque splitter but they are discontinued. Tull manual gauges and everything else. Solid axle swap 35's basically building a square body 🚛 ck with the newer body style. By going manual everything i eliminate a lot of circuits in the harness im making.
@@tandjperformancesouthflorida it absolutely will be, IMHO a 500 caddy is a superior tow pig compared to a big block. Its physically smaller, actually lighter by a touch, bolts right in and actually should be better on gas. 400hp/500ftlbs stock, and all in by 3500rpms. And kinda cheap nobody wants them really.
I’m wanna do this to my 95 gmc Sierra.. I got the wire harness from a 96 Yukon in which I cut up the switches from the back doors and left the ones for the driver and passenger doors!!! So I was testing it out with my electric door skeletons as I plugged in the thin plug into the grey section of the convince box and the window elevators were going up and down. So what do I need to do?? Or do I need a convince box from a power 1995 Sierra truck??? I will appreciate you’re feedback
The way your doing it now is like the 94 and older obs Chevy trucks..they just had two door harnesses plugged into the gray convenience center box..way easier to do..but if you want it like factory for 95 and up..yes you need the harness that runs behind the dashboard..and the convenience center box as well out of the 96..then your door harnesses will plug into the 96 harness inside the A pillars like the factory
My question is that I have 98 donor do I have to change the motor computer and everything to the 95 the 98 it’s a Vortech 5.0 it was for free to fix my Tahoe two door.
You will need to switch everything over to your 95..the 98 has different harness plugs and anti theft wiring..also the steering column as well would need to be swapped..you can use the 98 harness on your 95 if you've swapped to carb from tbi..if your planning on using the vortec in your 95 then swap everything I said and you'll have to swap fuel pumps to the vortec pump
I have a 98 W/T 1500 So all i need is just the wiring from a set of power doors to the factory harness in the w/t and it`ll work?? That`ll be so much easier.
No your harness is not built for power doors if your work truck is manual windows..you'll need the harness that goes across the firewall if you want it factory looking
One question I have a 2000 crew cab work truck. I just pulled a harness off a 99 suburban. Converting all 4 windows to power. My questions is this 99 burban harness has the airbag harness with it. My truck doesn't have airbags except maybe the steering wheel. Is there a way to remove the air bag harness and it still work
You can install the harness from the 99 in your truck..the crew cab 2500 and 3500 didn't have airbags from the factory..the harness will work fine if you install it in your 2000 OBS just leave the airbag plugs unhooked.. everything dealing with the airbags will be yellow plugs with a blue safety strap to hold the plugs together..I just did a conversion on a 2500 work truck from manual to power using a 98 Yukon harness and it works fine..no airbags hooked up..
95 to 00 obs trucks you need the two window harnesses and the behind the dash harness as well..with the gray courtesy center ..thats if your going from manual to power
@@darian4121 you can build your own harness with some relays and 10 gauge wire..then just pull power off the courtesy center or the fusebox..just make sure to put breakers or fuses on the power wires
Several questions here. I have a 1990 Silverado single cab 1500 with no power windows or locks. So I pulled a power window/lock harness from a 1994 Silverado, ( door harnesses aswell ) Can I just plug & play the 1994 harness into my 1990 convenience box with no problems or do I have to also swap the 1994 convenience box onto my 1990 I know you said it’s just plug & play but just wondering if I really have to swap the convenience box

I've got both door harnesses at my shop..I can see if thr tag is still on them..what I do is go to lkq and grab whats needed from a donor truck..I don't think the harnesses are reproduced
@Sergio I've got both power window ..lock and mirror harnesses for both doors from a 97 c1500..I don't have the harness that runs along the firewall and joins the two together..if your close to fort Lauderdale I will sell them to you
