Feeding the chickens the way you did it is one way. I find it easier to pull a trailer up at the shop and click R to start filling the trailer with the pallets and then using the trailer to offload their food.
i'm of the mind that loading the pens full of grown chickens, that it would make more money than selling the chicks for $1 each. i could understand getting only a few at first to save on money (if needed). otherwise, i'd just buy as many grown chickens as possible and let the eggs flow.
It seems odd you do not need a rooster in the pen to breed. That would be a good way to birth control, also you should choose to collect eggs, or breed them. That's one of my bigger gripes with FS is they often forsake reality for game play...which great for new players, but having more realistic options could add a lot of depth. I guess we do get a lot of modes for realism. I just don't like waiting. :)
@@travelinman70 as the game says "to liven up the pen" XD But even Egg farms have a couple of Roosters on them usually if they're Free Range or Barn Laid, as the Roosters will protect the Flock and stop the Hens from picking on each other, as they provide order and Hierachy to the Flock.
I wonder if you produce eggs faster, if your pen is maxed and you can't fit more chickens. Also, would chicken breeding turn a decent profit? Maybe...if you didn't have to pay transport costs. Do you know how long you can go before egg spawn fills to max?
I currently have 4 chicken coops. I cant keep up with the eggs man lol I'm usually taken a semi trailer full off eggs (2 levels stacked high) to sell points 4 times a calendar year and I'm averaging about 200K per drop off. They eat a shit ton of food just be warned lol
As of now, I have a small trailer stacked 5 pallets high with eggs. Waiting for November. It’s so overloaded that the trailer is bugged and slowly moving when it’s not attached to a tractor, but, it’s still drivable
Hey there, just wondering if I missed something or not... When you fed the chickens in the coop, your volume went from 18500L to 10500L (8000L right?) But when you looked at the chickens in the screen, it said they had 9000L Is there a bug, or was your trailer over-filled somehow?
Indeed, that's exactly what you did! Haha, I watched it back and you did it right in front of my eyes, butI completely missed it because you were still talking about how much food was in the OTHER type of enclosure
Or at the very least removed the transport fee since we cant do it ourselves. I brought this up during the seasons mod development in 19. If we cant haul chickens why am I docked every time I buy or sell them I dont have a choice.
In the coop, you can go in the door then on a black handle, you can toggle the main and centre window blinds up and down, anybody know if that has any use?
Correct no roosters needed there just for visuals. Else someone would have to explain to a child playing the game why a rooster is needed to make eggs. Giants does not want to be the one causing the birds and bees explanation.
Look up the Giants Developer Network. Sign up for an account, download the Giants Editor and then start looking online for map tutorials. Its a massive endevor. Good luck.
there are so many problems with raising chickens in this game. it feels very incomplete. they took something that should be one of the most immersive things in the game and made it the least immersive thing in the game somehow. that kind of goes for most things like the greenhouses and beehives as well. just pay a very very small amount of money to place them down then watch the cash flow in with little to no effort whatsoever. doesnt seem well balanced as well as lack of immersion. as far as making money goes, which for me is the main drive to do things, there is almost no point do engaging with like %90 of the games content. well heres to hoping modders take care of these issues because we all know giants wont. no disrespect to giants but maybe my expectations are too high. with this being a "simulator" series i kind of expect for not just more content to be added but for the "simulator" aspect to become more realized.
Can you move chickens to a different coop. Like if you purchased a larger coop, can you move the ones that were in the smaller coop to the larger coop ?
Odd if on PC I would look at the log.txt file in Documents\MyGames\FarmingSimulator2022 and see if it gives any indication on errors. Maybe you have a bad mod that is affecting the animal trigger in some way. If your on MP be sure you have the permission to buy/sell animals.
@@FarmerKlein thank you very. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. They are extremely helpful and thank you for such a quick reply to my question.
@@FarmerKlein yes but 300 every 2 months compared to eggs from 180 birds every 2 months? I'm no mathematician bit I'm pretty sure the eggs would make you a ton more money?
Not if you sell them on the first day. When they are first born they are worth a dollar but if you wait 9 days they are worth 25 times more. Plus they produce eggs for 3 of those days. You're not going to get rich but that's not the point for a lot of players. If you want to get rich quick, throw down a few large green houses and sell lettuce.
