This video informs young adolescents with a high school science education about how cocaine affects the body. The video also highlights new research about possible treatment options regarding cocaine addiction and overdose.
This video was made by McMaster University students Ava, Nour and Nadia in collaboration with the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Program.

It was only fun for a very short while for me. By like only the third or fourth time I did it, the comedown was so bad it made it not worth doing at all. It was like agreeing to eat chocolate cake and then break my arm. Even after waiting years, every time I tried cocaine again the comedown was just as bad if not worse.

I'm not staying away from cocaine. I've already done hard liquor and DXM (which are significantly worse for you than cocaine), so I don't see why I wouldn't be able to safely do a line of coke once every few months or so.

It's very addictive but not half as bad as Xanax, opioids etc, I was at a point where I lived with people who had it all the time and did it every day for months on end, it's all mental games when you know your around it and know if people your around or live with have it you crave for it bad, after the everyday binge with me over 6 months moved away from the people and got tired of the tolerance feeling, it's not as bad as people think, keep a good mindset and if you like it as your cup of tea make it a once in a blue moon type of drug to have fun on, don't recommend trying if you never tried it once and planning on it some people try it once and never recover. It's all on personality and life events.

Me and my friends used to only use it every now and then and now we can't go out without it and some of them are taking it the second they wake up. This helped me know whats going on biologically so I know what way to go about helping us cut back (I hope) like im watching this video rn high on it. To everyone who's curious about it, all these comments are right. I am an avid user myself, and if I could give one bit of advice to anyone I would say… if you get offered, it even once, for a ‘pick me up’ just say no. You’ll associate it with every time you are too drunk it is the solution. Some people can do it on occasion and that is fine in the grand scheme of things, but it is not worth the risk of you getting hooked on it. I understand it is not that easy sometimes just to ‘say no’ , but if you remember , leave it be.

I'm a downer guy always hated shit like Ritalin and amphetamines but got really hooked on alcohol and opioids. With that said I still absouletly loved coke ,that should tell you how fucked it can be. Then again I'd pretty much almost always drink with it as well, it's such a more euphoric feeling than something like Adderall or meth in my experience, although Addy/amphetamine or meth lasts miles longer and releases more Dopamine I just found that those 2 had a gross vibe but coke was so addictive because of how well it goes with alcohol and the overall vibe of it, I love coked up conversations sitting back hittin lines drinking beers

Something they don't tell you is after doing a good bit for a few days to a few weeks, you get this headache that only stops if you do some. The sinus pressure is horrible. Dry nose and face, raw nostrils, teeth throbbing. It's horrible. I'm doing some while watching this at 3 am and have to be at work at 830 and I will but at what cost to mental and physical health... Want to kick it for a while but its a small escape from everything I can sit out in the car while everyone sleeps, do some bumps, smoke some cigs and zone out from my problems. No way to handle anything but it's become easier than dealing with things.

the problem is once you try it you never forget it (if you really experienced the high). If I started live again from the beginning I would still try it because as a stable person you can control it but like I said you never forget it ever which leaves you with a scar that can start bleeding spontaneously and that's creepy. What I wouldn't do ever is introduce it to somebody who doesn't realize what he's in with. If drugs had weight classes this one surely would be heavy weight because of the potential punch/damage/negative impact it has. But if you know what you're doing it's definitely an awesome feeling. I would just say you should be 25+ yo and no considerable psychological issues. Also very important that the people you take it with or are present you can trust otherwise you might get to know the gates of hell.

The thing about cocaine is a lot of the sad overdoses and horror stories will never be told, as the majority of the people who discover the full effects of cocaine on the mind and body succumb to its deleterious effects. Simply put: the high is too short-lived, and any reason for doing it too short-sighted, to warrant its use. The effects are too arbitrary and unknown so even that small bump to dip your toe in is too dangerous. Just no man…there’s always a better way out

at a certain point cocaine didnt even get me "high" it didnt hide my problems, it didnt make me a better person, didnt make me feel good. There is a saying here that if u try cocaine, you will fall in love with it, but ive done alot of coke and understood that you only "fall in love" if you let yourself give in to the temptation. Ive used alot of coke in my life, for me it went like it was with weed, first its fun, then the fun starts to fade, at that point there are 2 possibilities, either you chase the feeling you once got, or understand that its a feeling you once got, how i see it is, only way it can fuck you up is if you let it. Im not trying to justify the drug in any way, just that from my experience, ive seen good friends fall to rock bottom just because they believe to be the person they are on coke. I would argue that most people get addicted to the illusion of the self image that cocaine makes you believe, i have also seen people who see right through the illusion and they have no problems in life, can go weeks or months without it. I myself believe, and my belief is based on my own eyes and ears, that cocaine will onl get you fucked in life if you dont have a strong enough mental to understand whats happening.

If someday I'd were to get very low mentally I might relapse and die. Also I've ruined many meaningful relationships, some of those people won't even talk to me, the others talk to me but it will never be the same because they will never see me as anything else than a cokehead. My health is horrible, I get chest pains and my nose is horrible. But even though it fucked up my life I dream about cocaine almost every night. So that's what I mean by it changed me.

Ive been a weed addict for many years and recently ive been having severe side effects (coupled with life challenges), but these improved very fast (after 1 week without i was feeling great, just developed insomnias instead...). As for coke i did maybe less than 10 times but i never had a problem with it, nor hangover nor addiction so far.

I had a phase where I went on cocaine binges pretty heavy in college. I’d try and justify it that it would help me study and In to be fair it did help me do that until I started doing it more casually. Like go on 3 day binges at a time. Im lucky I didn’t get hooked and was able to stop and am 2 or so years clean before it got too bad but it’s not always the case for everyone. Be careful especially now, coke isn’t what it used to be, cut with very toxic agents that can kill you instantly, like fentanyl or even mixed with meth. Coke isn’t what it used to be anymore and it’s not worth playing Russian roulette for a batch that has a 50:50 chance of killing you. Be safe y’all and always remember the addiction no matter how you justify is still an addiction.

honestly if you have a decent amount of self control and don’t have an addictive personality then i recommend trying coke. but that’s it. don’t go out and buy a g right after you try it cause you got a bachelor party coming up or whatever. to be able to experience it i would say is worth it. but trying more the next weekend or something then that’s when addiction starts to develop if it’s good white. all people are different so i can’t speak for anyone besides myself. try it once if you think you can just do it once OR every so often like 2-6 times a YEAR. if you keep dabbling in it you’ll get a very strong psychological addiction that fucks up your nose, teeth, heart and a few other body parts. it’s not worth it once you become hooked, but worth it enough to try it at least once or do it a handful amount of times a year. happy skiiing!!!

I ended a long friendship with a woman who became progressively more irritated by cocaine as time went on. It got to a boiling point where after insulting and verbally abusing me in 2 restaurants and 2 homes that I had to kick her out whilst yelling at her. Another woman I know was talking quite a bit to me (which she never does) and was rubbing her nose saying she had allergies. Yeah right. What person has a nose allergy where the nose doesn't run? She didn't need a tissue which I offered because no, why irritate an already dry nose with tissue? She must've done a bump or line in the washroom before my arrival.

As long as you don't pawn your stuff for it, you'll be fine, i already been diagnosed with ADHD and high func autism, which doing this stuff makes it 10x more addicting, and still have a coke problem to this day, weird fact it never increases my heart rate no matter how much I do, and I get to certain points where i take long breaks cold turkey no problems, only addicting while your high, when it comes to comedowns or withdrawals sleep it off, smoke some green, eat good food and work very hard to keep that foolish stuff off your mind. Just stay away from other coke heads too knowing someone has it is going to make you want to do it even after months or years.

How come before I could take coke and the next day feel happy and could happily take it again if offered. But now even if I do 0.2 of the drug I’m Ill for 4 days straight, I’ve been using coke for about 5 years and have never experienced a change until now. I now have real bad chest pains headaches feel dizzy blow dark green goop out my nose right after using. I tried it in very small amounts and I could not understand why people craved for it so much. In small quantities it just felt like a "super-coffee" that kept me awake and alive. It was okay and I enjoyed the night without caring for more. But after the first line, everything changed... A line makes you feel like ANYTHING is possible. Like you own the world. Like you are the most powerful and confident being on earth. However that feeling wears off. Then you need more to feel the same again. And that is fucked up, because I really started behaving in response to the drug, not to myself. So dont do it, it is not worth it. My friends NEED it to have fun. I haven't reached thst point and I have felt distress if I did not show strong communicative skills. Yet I still believe I need a chance to prove myself.

My mother suffers brain damage from a 30yr long cocaine addiction it has caused her to be unable to speak spell or write properly and heavily impairs her ability to make even simple decisions without getting frustrated or angry. There are many times where shes depressed and there are many times where she is manic. I miss my mom, she simply isnt the same person she was and she cant be who she wants to be because of her addiction. This drug, for a small bit of happiness that only last a moment isn’t worth it. It is exceptionally devastating to a persons mental health even with moderate use.

This Drug prints money for dealers around the world. Heaps misery on millions. This drug leaves a person with an extreme feeling of wanting to do this drug again...the dysphoria is so intense, psychosis is not uncommon. I'm not anti drugs, far from it. But the effects are so short lived, the drug so expensive that people often lose touch with reality. Keep well people

From my experience with cocaine Upside: Sometimes it made me chatty, sometimes it made me quiet. Usually depended on my mood and the coke. The high itself is great when you get some really good shit. And dipping your cigarette in it. Downsides: -Expensive, and usually your shit will get cut with baking soda. If you’re unlucky it’ll get with another drug so be careful. -Could not stop sweating. If you don’t mind that then this won’t be an issue but I hated my palms being so clammy. -Once you start sniffing you wanna keep doing more lines. You crave it. -Your nose can hurt like a bitch after and it can get clogged. -Personally, being coked out would sometimes drive me crazy. I would wanna do so many things at once but me and my friends would just sit around the table and I couldn’t stand just sitting there skeeted out of my mind. -Possible constipation or you get the shits -Possibility of death. -High is too fucking short though I suppose this could be a good thing to some people

@@malice5936 Gotta know what you’re buying if you’re doing it alone as a first timer. If you’re doing it with someone who’s more experienced I would leave the buying to them, it’s just easier until you know what you’re doing. Be aware depending on the dealer you won’t get just straight coke. Most likely it’ll be cut with baking soda. If you’re unlucky it’ll be cut with another drug so understand the risk. If it’s cut with baking soda the most it’ll do is burn your nose a bit and give you the shits.

If you have GOOD blow, the high definitely isn't short 🤷🏻‍♂️ one bump could last hours! All you want, is to do more! I went 32 years without touching it, it's been 3 yrs now of 3-4 day a week usage (half gram a day). All I gotta say is, it's dope as f*ck l, but not as dope as you feel when your sober and energetic and healthy. 100% not worth it

Just crush up ritalin and snort it, cheaper than coke. The high is very similar, not as great as coke but snorting ritalin makes you talk a lot, positive, up tempo energy to you and you feel on top of the world for sure its short just like coke only about 15-20 minutes

Depends. If you mix it with alcohol for example you’ll have the worst hangover imaginable. Even just doing coke alone gives you a bad hangover if you do enough. It starts off as feeling very euphoric motivated and energized but the high doesn’t last long and you build that tolerance and before you know it you’re crushing 8balls just to feel something. Be careful of this drug. Once you make it into a habit it’s hard to stop without very extreme willpower

I’m in the same boat. You know what ur getting into but u can’t stop because ur hooked! I say the best way to stop is by taking baby step and keep telling urself no and no. Next step is try not to buy any and keep urself busy like working out or find a new habits and not think about it. Good luck and wish u get off ASAP!
