I don't see much value in the standard membership. It should include a plus one for the $35 fee. I couldn't see my wife and I spending $200 a year and then $70 for each 3 hours (max) of sitting in a glorified hotel lobby. Most airports have free Wi-Fi and charging ports these days. I think the premium credit card is the only way to go. Even then you are basically prepaying as these cards have high annual fees.
That will provide you access to one of the participating lounges. Once you are in there you will usually be able to get free food and drinks. Some lounges charge for top shelf alcohol, but you can usually still get free drinks.
One thing to mention is if you are an airline employee traveling on your airline benefits, you are prohibited from accessing the lounge, you must be on a confirmed ticket with a seat assignment
Tried visiting the lounge at Frankfurt Airport last month and was denied entry because I didn't have a boarding pass (flight wasn't until next day and I was at the airport hotel). Worth mentioning.
It depends on where you get you Priorty Pass membership from. If its directly from their website, you will have to pay $35 for each guest. And then with some credit card providers that give you a Priority Pass Select Membership will allow for 2 guests free of charge. Also, each lounge will have different rules as to how many guests you can bring with you.
Question. As a PP member, Is it possible to enter a Priority Pass affiliated lounge with a sameday boarding pass of an airline that isn't the same/opposite of the company/airline lounge? If I'm flying on Air Canada, could I still enter a United Airlines lounge if that United Lounge accepts Priority Pass members?
Hi, Thanks for your question! From my experience using my Priority Pass you only need to have a same day trip booked to gain access to most lounges. The only thing to be aware of is that some lounges may be at capacity during busy times and may not take Priority Pass memberships during these busy times. Btu you can generally see the terms of each Lounge on the Priority Pass Website or App.
I just got the Amex Surpass Card, that allows 10 free visits per membership year. When I applied I got the first year annual fee waived so basically I got PP for free.
Can my daughter use my priority pass? My pass is thru my Venture X card. She has a Chase Sapphire card with her name on card, so I am thinking she is aloud 1 visit per year, correct?
Transitioning through Dubai airport. 9 hour layover, since most lounge stays are 2-3 hours, am I able to visit more than one lounge during my transit? I have the priority plus membership with my credit card.
I don't believe so. Just so you know, there is also the option to use one of the 'sleep 'n fly - Sleep Lounge & Showers' depending which terminal you are at. They provide you with up to 2 hours free, and allow you to sleep and shower. www.prioritypass.com/lounges/united-arab-emirates/dubai-international/dxb12-sleep-n-fly
If you purchased it directly from Priority pass , each additional guest is $35. If you received it from a credit card provider you can sometimes be allowed 2 guests (or more) free of charge, it just depends on the Credit card.
Many lounges listed in the PP website will do whatever they can to come up with excuses to not allow PP members in. This is the case in ORD swissport lounge. Every time I've tried to come in, they say it's the wrong time window, they only allow certain airline travelers, or say a certain airline reserved the entire lounge. PP is the lowest in the Priority totem for lounges.
Thanks for your question. Depending on which credit card you have will determine the level of membership you receive from Priority Pass. I have the Amex Platinum card and Chase Sapphire Reserve card and they both allow me to bring one additional guest at no extra charge. Also, it doesn't matter what airline you are flying, as long as you have a ticket for any same day flight you generally will be ok.
I'm pretty sure there is a maximum of 2 guests at a given time with the Standard Plus Membership, and each guest costs $35. I do recommend always checking the lounge you might be visiting when you do travel, just to check what rules they have in place, as each lounge does vary a little.
I traveled a lot but Chase Sapphire priority member card to access lounge was very difficult. I was disappointed and denied access at many airports! Once my friend using other credit card member and I was using this card. She allowed to enter, I was stopped at the entrance. What a shame as a member of this Chase Sapphire priortity card. I have to make long distance calls to card service. Problem not solved.
That's no good. I've been turned away a couple of times from lounges in Europe with my Sapphire related Priority Pass card but generally it has been pretty good.
Can the App display your card number/barcode or do you actually need to carry around your physical card to enter a lounge? If you have the pass because of a credit card, will that credit card get you in the lounge. I am trying to keep my wallet down to a reasonable size, but plan on becoming a nomad a year or two from now...
Yes you can just use the app if you want, you can also save your Priority Pass to your apple wallet. It will essentially save your name, expiration date, card number, when you started using the card and finally a QR code that the airport lounge can scan.
Can I buy the priority pass only for 1 year? Then cancel it. Sorry for my english. Im traveling this year to Narita from Costa Rica and Im going to visit at least 5 airports and I want to get the Standard since its only $69 10 free visits. But I only need it for this year.
I received the card from Capital 1 and live in the DC area. I find only one lounge at DCA in the international terminal, IAD, or BWI. I found none at ATL. This is four major airlines why so few lounges or did I miss something
Im not sure why there aren’t more lounges at these airports. Unfortunately DVA doesn’t offer much in the way of Priority Pass lounges but there are 2 options for restaurants which is only available with 4 different credit cards (not Capital One). ATL has a lounge at the international Terminal but thats it.
As far as I know you get unlimited complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges for you and your guests. I'm not 100% sure about if you get restaurant privileges like some of the cards. The best way to find out would be to login into Priority Pass on either you computer of or phone and then look up a few different airports and see what they show you. If you have access to restaurants (or anything else) it will list them once you are signed into your account. Hope this helps!
Nice review, however I can't even sign up for it. They regularly send me emails to join with a discount but the email links go to pages on their website which have buttons and links that don't work. tried calling customer services that just direct me to the website. Obviously they're hoping I give in and pay full price, but that just seems to me that they are tring to con me and doesn't give much confidence. I'll stick to the airport restaurants for now.
Its been 2 weeks n i still didnt get my priority pass physically. Can i show it on mobile app as im flying soon? When u showed restaurant yes no, Does it mean restaurant with in priority Pass lounge or outside lounges? Is the food in the lounges free always?
Hi, Thanks for your questions! 1.So you should be able to login to the app and use that when you are flying. 2.To use Priority Pass at restaurants you will first need to make sure you have a Priority Pass from one of the following credit cards: *Chase Sapphire Reserve *Chase Ritz Carlton Credit Card *Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite Credit Card *US Bank Altitude Reserve Card If you do have one of these credit cards you will then need to look on the Priority Pass app to see if there are any restaurants at the specific airport you are traveling to that actually have restaurants that are offering a dining credit. 3.Yes the food and drinks are free when you get into the lounges. (there may be a charge for premium alcohol) Hope this helps!
@@aditya234567 Yes it does, but it wont allow for restaurant visits. When you login in to your Priority Pass account it will basically just show you what lounges are available to you with that card.
@@charlesquentin934 I recommend signing into the Priority Pass website or app with your priority pass card and it should have a detailed list of benefits you have, and what you have used. Generally benefits only run out during the same day at one specific location (airport). Once you travel to another destination you can usually use the same card again.
It is a card( similar size to a credit card) that you will receive from Priority Pass that you can then use to get into airport lounges. Generally the lounge will swipe your card or input the number on your card, and then they should let you in to the lounge.
Great video. I was wondering, so if i have priority passes through chase reserves and it allows me to bring 2 guests for free. Does it mean i can go to any PP lounge bringing 2 guests? Would the lounge know that I'm allowed to bring 2 guests though the PP card or should i tell them beforehand? Are kids considered as guests or is there a fee for kids going in?
Thank you! I would always check on the Priority Pass App (or website) to see if the specific lounge you will be visiting will accept 2 guests. It can change a bit from lounge to lounge so always best to check first. When it comes to whether kids are free, it depends on the lounge, some only allow kids under 2 to come in free of charge whereas others allow kids in for free under the age of 6. So best to check on the app first.
Curious, if my older brother has priority pass through his chase reserve, am I able to use his priority pass when I travel since we are family and live in the same household? Would the lounge ask for driver's license & credit card in addition to the priority pass? Thank you
Hi Lydia, Thanks for your question! The Priority Pass card will have your brothers name on it, so you will need an airline ticket with his name on it (as far as I know). I have never been asked to provide a drivers license or credit card to use my Priority Pass.
@@dannyshep how does the pass work when a credit card allows you to have 2 guest? Just show up and they will have to pay? or do they fall under the credit card perk?
@@totesmagoats1985 Thanks for your question. If the lounge allows for two guests they will be able to come in with you free of charge. Its always worth checking what lounges are availabe at the airport you will be traveling from first just to check the terms of that specific lounge, also at larger airports they can sometimes get quite busy and may need you to make a booking to get in without having to wait. Hopefully this helps!
I have never accessed the lounge before and got a credit card with lounge access (but no restaurant credit) recently. Would someone assist to clarify - if the lounge serves food, does that mean my guests and I would not be able to eat the food for free?
Thanks for your questions! If you have access to a lounge all of the food should be included for free for both you and your guest. The restaurant credit is for sepcific restaurants within the airport (not lounges), if you have a valid priority pass that includes the restaurant credit, you and your guest will most likely be covered.
I dont believe so,. As far as I know it is available with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Ritz Carlton Credit Card, Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite Credit Card and the US Bank Altitude Reserve Card. You can get more information on my website here if you like: www.luggageguru.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-priority-pass-for-beginners/
Questions I have is if I were to have multiple priority passes could I have them all under the same log in or would I need a separate log in for each pass on the App and Website?
I pretty sure its a separate login as some priority passes have slightly different benefits. I have two Priority Passes but have only ever signed in with one of them so I'm not 100% sure.
