Swapping my air suspension out for the coil over conversion next week. Been having way too many issues with my stock air ride system. Replaced front struts and compressor twice now. Getting rid of the whole system
Thnaks for the video. I had back air spring leaks and replaced them, the system is splendid now. However, when I replaced them, I had the yellow warning, and the suspension behavior was too stiffness, except on dynamic was the only mode less stiff and without yellow warning. The “leak check” when the door is closed or open was “too leaky”, but the time passed and then the system normalized and now works really well. I used the same schematic to resolve my problem on my Allroad C6, which shares some parts with A8 and some with A6. One of them is the Allroad C6 has the same 5,8 liter accumulator instead of 4,8 from the A6. When I open or close the door I have the same “leak check” as you, however before that I have 4x relay clicking. One warning: usually, the chinese compressor doesn’t make any check, so be aware and buy original (Wabco). What can I say more…2 hours after closing the door, the valve will check again and we can hear the leak check. So far so good, the system is ok, I love the confort, and love to rise the suspension to go somewhere wild or to visit archeological sites. 🙂
Greit work you doing😊 i missing one thing, when you change airstrut, you Jack up car both side, do you set the car setup in Jack mode? Automatic ,comfort or lift ? I just changed left front without jackup both side, without jackmode. Belive me, i dont do that again 😅
Kurt Munthe Denmark Interesting knowledge. I have so far no problem yet for my S8 2009 km 82000. The only thing I have observed is the door lock on the right rear door does not work. But otherwise the car drives perfectly.
So i have an audi s6 c7 after replacing front air strut because of leak the rear seem to have went really low then the rear stayed up and the front was low i reset the system with OBDeleven and tried to see if vehicle would hold up, vehicle airs up but compressor would keep cutting on and leveling then vehicle will throw fault after about a 5-10 minute time frame and front will lower back down(whole front end) but before i reset codes the rear was doing the same thing
If after doing your test I notice the rear suspension keeps lowering over night or when car is switched off. Does that mean one of the colours needs to be tightened (grey & blue)
Hi how is it going I hope good . I replaced passenger side air strut re manufactured air strut and replaced the leveling sensor on passenger side it’s all put together on my 2005 Audi A8 4.2 D3 Quattro do I have to reset MMI computer. I have OBDeleven pro. Or what do I have to do before I lower the car off the jacks. Please help. Thank you
Hi Thank s for info What happens when yellow is flashing and after starting to drive the green one is on also? When i delete all the errors with VCDS the compressor starts and runs for few seconds and then blow off the air very loud ? What should i do ? Change the block ? Change the compressor? Living in Norway and the car was outside in -30
Great video, I’m having a nsf strut replaced in one week as it drops on the nsf after about 4 hours. I’m worried the garage are going to replace the strut and the leak is else where. So I will set it on lift and jacking mode so if it drops still it’s the strut/airbag if it stays up the leak may be in the pipe work somewhere. Right.?
Never replace something that’s not proven faulty. Do the simple test as you described 99% it’s the air bag leak, twice on my car air bags already and nothing else was bad. Replace wrong parts may induce new problems.
Love your videos, they are very helpful. Before I replaced any parts I did a diagnostic with OBD 11 and soap test on struts, valve block and pump. Two front struts were leaking bad, replaced with Arnott refurbished. Then the pump completely failed but was under warranty and I replaced that as well with a new relay. All said and done, my car still has a solid yellow suspension light comes on after a minute of starting car. What am I missing?
Hi! @3dogs1monkey my console got water in it caused by roof drain blockage 🤦♂️ none of the button work now - do you think it is short or can we reset it somehow?
Hi, thank you for the vedio, very informative, i have a Q7, 2007, The vehicle is extremly low, but on dash it has full with 4 bars displayed. The car wont lift, the pump wont run, i unplugged the plug on the compressor, there is no powernto compressor, no power on relay either, checked fuse, it is ok, now am stuck, any ideas on how i can get this to work
Why would you do that? Blindly doing things. The controller will measure the heights and pump accordingly. Do the simple tests described in the post to find the leaks.
Hello sir I have the Audi a8l 2008 and I learn alot from u thank u I am having this problem now I changed the air shock but when I locked the car and leave the car front goes all the way down in the front I look up the code and it tells me some wire faulty p could you please help me out
@@guzforce yes, Chinese made with that price. It’s a crap shoot when using these. Always use the one that have been used, mine worked for many years. The best is to buy from the dealers. All others are made in China even the rebuild ones here IMO.
@@GeorgievKristian It tries for a long while til it heat up too much (has a sensor) then turns off. It will pop a code for leak detected and turn off eventually. The most damage is gonna be the front valance and the bushings in the suspension. It's not good, get home, park it, fix it. Air springs last so long, first broken strut replacement should also include a new or serviced compressor
@@GeorgievKristian compressor works together with all the struts. if you have leak in the system and compressor is running all the time to keep the car up it will fail one point. compressor also holds a relevant pressure before valve block etc Also the lights lower limit and to high limit exceeded always don't mean what told on the manual yellow light lights up when you have fault code by suspension
Nothing is wrong with vcds or any other OBDII, to me they’re mere readers. People used them to fix car without knowing what they’re doing and break the car in the process. It breaks more cars than fixing them. Yes, they’re good for reading faults.
Thank you for making this video. I have an 08 A8L and my suspension works. However, it doesn't seem to like colder temeratures. I live in Kentucky near the Ohio, which the temperatures can get frigid at times. Whenever the temperature dips into the mid to low 40s and below, I oftentimes will get the green suspension indicator. Sometimes, depending on how cold it is outside, the yellow indicator comes on along with it. Then there are times when I'm driving that the yellow indicator comes on alone. Both of these are correctly after restrarting my car. But if it's real cold I may have to restart it a couple of times to correct it. During these times I can also hear hear a little screeching like sound from the front suspension when going over various bums. None of this is present in warmer temperatures. What could be the problem? Another cold weather issue I hope you can help me out with is the factory installed bluetooth. Again, in these same weather conditions, the car's bluetooth/cell phone connectivity varies. (Galaxy GS9+) The colder it is, the longer it takes to connect. Sometimes up to one hour when it's in the low 30s or lower outside. In the 50s or above, immediately or at least within two minutes. High 30s to mid 40s it can take up to twenty minutes to connect. I tried using a different phone but the same issue existed. Is there anything short of replacing it that can be done?
Rod when the weather is cold, the battery is depleted quickly, make sure the battery is healthy and the alternator is charging correctly. The battery management may disable some components to maintain the current for the engine and important running components. The rubber components like air rings shrink that cause air leaks. According to the manual, green warning light sometimes is normal. The Bluetooth pairing as I experienced, it does need strong current to work efficiently, 2A @ 5V. When the pairing is slow, the battery management system may not supply enough current for the Bluetooth. With engine running battery should be > 14V and without 12.2-4V. With MMI on should be 12.1V+ with engine OFF
@@3dogs1monkey Thanks for replying. That's very understandable. However, I only know how to check if battery is fully charged in MMI. It always shows fully charged even on a cold start in cold weather. It shows if it was drainedif I leave something on but under normal circumstances it shows a full charge. I have a Duralast Titanium battery which has the best recommended voltage for it and it seems as though the alternator charges as it should. I know this because I have accidentally drained the battery at times leaving devices that will drain battery if left on for hours with engine off. But I don't know how to check voltage. Any info on that will be helpful.
Rod $9 DVM is a must have. Should not guess, the MMI battery indicator only shows if the battery is charging not really underload. Mark Fuller you need to get OBDEleven or similar to enable it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KQDBhBX-rGE.html www.dognmonkey.com/audi/nextgen-obdeleven-pro-supports-both-android-and-ios.html
That module is for Tel only, not for streaming music, for streaming music there are other venues www.dognmonkey.com/audi/stream-music-through-audi-mmi-via-bluetooth.html
hello i have an audi a6 c6 and i have the following problem ... after leaving the car for more than 7-8 hours at rest the rear on the left drops. the airbags have been replaced. What could be the problem? thanks
Hi how is it going I hope good. I have a question I have a 2005 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro I bought it used everything was working fine I had air suspension on MMI then I got a leak on passenger side then after a month I lost the air suspension on MMI three months later the starter went out the cars suspension went all the way down I took the car to the mechanic they changed the stater I got the car back now the compressor is not working I changed the relay and used OBDELEVEN turned the green menu and got the air suspension on MMI but the compressor is not turning on. Please help. Thank you
3dogs1monkey Thank you for the quick reply on the OBDeleven I got code 01437 control position not adapted and code 01769 right front level control sensor. I’ll look at the video again. And thank you and thank you for putting the video very informative.
My 06 has been sitting. The air suspension was turned off. I accessed the green menu and turned it back on. The menus are back on the MMI but the tow and jack mode are both gray and I can't select them. Any help?
Quick question, i ha no leaks but i can hear my compressor turn on like every 15 minutes. Also i have noticed by pushing car to the up compressor will turn on taking forever to lift is like if tank were empty, before car will lift real fast not anymore any ideas?
@@3dogs1monkey. That's why I am so confused I got to think that maybe it could be the valve block? Probable is the reason why the car won’t lift as fast as before and at times taking longer than usual to get down? IDK, I love my car; although I don't need to lift or get the car down, it is annoying to hear the click and compressor turning in and off very often. At any rate, I do apréciate your comment. Thank you!
As long as the green one appears, your suspension is lower than expected. Sometimes the green one comes up then when the pump raises it up and it goes away, in case of cold weather only.

Excellent video. Keep it up! Would you like to be RU-vid friends? :)

Casas Marii you should sell the car, flooded car may have all wiring connectors corroded and shorted together, even if you replace all the parts, still won’t work. It’s not worth the time and the money. You should try Audiworld.com, people there may be able to help you.
