@@APlusRussian As an outsider looking in, I can admit that Putin had done alot of good for his country/federation in many ways. But at the same time he has done stuff to undo a lot of that good in other ways. And this whole us vs them/east vs west mentality doesn't serve anyone other than those in power on both sides who can use it to maintain and expand their power(s) and point fingers at each other across the isle. NATO was becoming irrelevant until Putin gave them an excuse to re-invigorate their "raison d'être" (reason for being) by pushing this "us vs them" mindset. NATO let Chechnya Georgia Syria Crimea etc go and didnt involve themselves for the most part other than lip service to those on the blunt end of Russia's big stick. But there comes a point when they will and the 2022 special military operation was it. Now you can say NATO did the same to Russia by expanding eastwards that maybe but ask those small countries like Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Finland and etc, knowing what they know and the having experienced the freedoms they have during their time away from the Kremlin would they give it all up and return to the so called "motherland" the answer would probably be a big fat NO! So in that sense NATO didn't expand east rather those nations ran westwards into NATO's arm's for various reasons, I dont need to list here.

The most terrible thing, and it is difficult for a Westerner to feel, is that before that we called them brothers. 30 years ago we were one country, half of Ukraine speaks Russian, almost everyone in Russia has relatives in Ukraine. Almost any Russian has some Ukrainian roots and he is 1/4 or 1/8 Ukrainian. It's as if Germany would bomb Austria or the USA Canada. Even this comparison is not enough, it's as if Texas would separate from the United States and the rest of the states would fight in Texas.

@@TheGhost-s5v I think a lot of us Westerners do understand now that this is a big tragedy of the situation. It's the ultimate betrayal. That the brutal Russian invasion has driven a wedge between your two peoples that will not now be healed for hundreds of years. That Ukrainians everywhere are now united against Russia. This war seems to represent a new birth of Ukraine's national mythos as the strong country that stood against the Russian tyranny that pretended it was a brother. To be invaded by Russia on a pretext of Ukraine having been overrun by Nazis - and for so many Russians to actually believe this. It's unforgivable. It's obvious to everyone that Ukrainians don't think of themselves as the brothers of Russians any more. Quite the opposite. What was it Zelenskyy said as Russian missiles were raining down on multiple Ukrainian cities with the goal of destroying as much civilian infrastructure as possible? "Do you think we are still one people? Do you still think you can scare us, break us, force us to make concessions? Do you really not understand? Don’t you understand who we are? What are we fighting for, what all this is for? “Without gas or without you? - The answer is without you. Without electricity or without you? - Without you. Without water or without you? - Without you. Without food or without you? - Without you. “For us, cold, hunger, darkness and thirst are not as dangerous and deadly as friendship and brotherhood with you. But history shows everyone and everything in its place. And we will have gas, electricity, water and food, and it will be without you!” At some point, all Russians will need to understand that this is what Vladimir Putin's perverted dreams of Empire have brought them to. And that it would be a damn good idea to start getting political to make sure this kind of shit never happens again.

@@TheGhost-s5v Actually Germany and Austria were for a long time in a dualistic battle for supremacy. As an example you can take the conflict during the time of the german confederation after viennas congress 1815-1866. Germany as a whole wasnt existing we were split in many small states with territorial leaders and ofc Prussia and Austria. In the end Prussia won over Austria (Battle of Königgrätz) because they had advanced rifles first breechloading rifles and standartised ammunition. Then 1871 came and the second german Reich was formed. Austria wasnt part of it although there was the hope of some to form a big German Reich. Well in 1938 it became true after the collapse due to ww1 and the uprise of Nazi Germany. We forced them like russians are forcing ukraine. The difference is our Anschluss was without bloodshed and without killing our so called "brothers" en masse. And today we all are happy that Austria is an independent democratic state yet there are a lot of dumb Nationalists but well we also have them. But if I look at russias Ultranationlists they are almost like a joke. Its truly shocking to see what Russia has become in todays world.
@larszenthio1012
@larszenthio1012 Год назад
@@TheGhost-s5v It was an independent and freer Ukraine that some of the Russians were drawn to at first, because they were tired of Russia. More and more people went to Ukraine and Putin didn't like it, so he started annexing parts and that's what triggered everything almost 9 years ago. When he later found out (a couple of years ago) that there were deposits of gas and oil in Ukraine, he decided to try to take over all of Ukraine in February 24-2022. It hits him right in the face.

For example, my mother and my brother support "special operation" (we fought again yesterday), my father and I are against the president and the war (and my son, but he's only 9). I feel very tired because of it. It's very amusing me - a lot of Russians have Ukrainian roots (you can know about it due to their last name - word endings have letters "ko", "uk"). So why? If I unequivocally condemn this, then it turns out I am a traitor.. Won't people in the West subconsciously perceive me as a weakling and a traitor of my nation? And if I avoid these questions, then others will think that I probably support aggression in Ukraine. Probably it's all nonsense, I'm not guilty in anything myself, and it doesn't matter who and what would think of me.. I am 19 years old, I plan to emigrate to the West, so I am concerned about this issue. And another question that scares me in emigration is if someone will behave aggressively or insult me because I am Russian. Is that unlikely? It's just not clear how to defend yourself then, here according to our mentality, we don't argue for a long time and don't insult each other, if another man insults you, then you immediately beat him and in a fight you decide who is right. Hello from Russia. Russia has always been and will always be like this. Putin's regime is still very soft by the standards of Russia, just for 22 years of rule in the regime of God and Julius Caesar, anyone will go crazy. There is no point in trying to change something here, you either need to go to the West and start all over again there, or be able to adapt well to this system, steal something, for example, a forest, or be a "Russian hacker or cyber fraudster", i.e. steal from Western companies via the Internet and no one will get you in this wilderness and here you are like a king. I have friends who have chosen this path, they are doing well, the Western standard of living, connections with law enforcement agencies, etc., huge log houses in a beautiful forest in Siberia, their own library, they just live in their own world and they don't care about anything, but for this they have to cooperate with the regime That is, you are allowed to steal in the West, but in return you share some stolen data with the special services. I personally decided that this is not for me and I will emigrate. Trying to change something here is pointless, you will be put in prison for 20 years for nothing, you will die in prison, because the conditions in Russian prisons are like in concentration camps. And no one will feel sorry for you, will not say "this is a hero who is fighting for freedom," most people will say: "this is some kind of idiot and traitor, it's right that he was imprisoned, he should have been executed at all." Now there is a chance for changes, after Putin, the liberal and democratic opposition may come to power with the support of the West, but they will not hold power. They will be supported by a maximum of 20 percent, the Russian hinterland and especially people in the east of the country are very brutal, they will not understand stories about democracy, they will say: "You are talking some nonsense and you want to sell our power to the West :)" We cannot have a young intelligent and progressive guy as president, many people will say: "What kind of a brat is this? We need a strong leader, a strong hand, a real man." No one here will respect a dude like Macron or Trudeau, people will just say, "What kind of faggot is this?" By the way, when Putin came to power he was quite liberal, he wanted to join NATO and be an ally of the West, but by the end of his second term his rhetoric had changed. He realized that the people needed a king, not democracy, and became a king, his friends, classmates stole billions, he built palaces for himself, tried everything possible, and then he became a roof from permissiveness and he wanted to become a great ruler, return the Russian lands and leave a mark in history. He doesn't care about the standard of living of people, but he is very worried about what will be written about him in history textbooks..

@KajkoiKokosz It makes little sense, it's easier to negotiate with the Russian elite, if you are counting on hunger riots and revolutions here, you will wait a very long time. So that you understand, I understand, you are a Pole, imagine that somewhere near Krakow in villages and small towns, the military come to the village, grab young men, bring them to the military enlistment office, without a medical examination, determine them to the troops, take away their mobile phones, then they are taken by train to the West without they freeze in warm clothes in the train carriage, then they walk in formation for a week and shoot twice from an old machine gun and they are sent to the front. Their relatives have no connection with them, if they die, their bodies will most likely not be returned home, relatives are simply told: "We don't know anything, go complain wherever you want." Why I outlined it. 1) It makes no sense to wait for a revolt from below, any changes are possible only from above within the elites 2)If you just want to take revenge on the Russians, then we are doing a great job with it ourselves :)

В России этого не будет, её вряд ли оккупируют на десятки лет даже в случае полного поражения. А добровольно даже сталинизм в России как следует осуждён и проработан не был. @@toolworks > "fully" provoked isn't right. There was a pro-Russian sentiment in Donbass, Did it materialize in a political party that demanded separation from Ukraine and unification with RF ? THIS is the question ! Remember: by 2014 Ukraine was a relatively free century, free press and political parties were allowed. Therefore: I am asking again: was there a political party in Donbass that demanded and struggled politically for separation from Ukraine and unification with RF? This question is essential, because such a political way would have been the only legitimate way to independency. The violent way is not legitimate, given the fact that Ukraine was, by 2014 a (relatively) free country. [#] If there was one such political party, can you name it ? If not, then the Donbass separatism was, as I said, "fully provoked from outside, by Putin's agents, and was fueled by Russia with military personnel and weapons." Please note: *_The same principles apply to the case of Crimea, Kherson and Zaporizhie,_* As well as to Spain vs. Catalonia. -------- [#] Yes, I am aware that the political path to independency had to pass through the change of the Constitution of Ukraine.
@@NiceEvils there're many research works on that. For instance, chapters about interviews in Berg and Lune "Qualitative Research Methods for Social Sciences". Small talk is really important since it 'breaks the ice' between respondents and the interviewer. So when people feel calm and confident in the person they're willing to talk openly and share thoughts without any suspicion. In case of this video people might think that she is the governmental interviewer at first. Then the interviewer girl starts to sarcastically mock the respondents which is really hard to get from English subtitles. This is totally against any research ethics. I am not a pro-Putin, but as a native in Russian I'd have felt suspicious about this person asking me straiforward questions with intonations like that.

Stockholm on 29 March 2013? Or maybe no one likes to play with Russia any more because Russia said in February 2022 that it was only holding military exercises on the border with Ukraine and then invaded Ukraine after all. But it could also be that the world community is annoyed that Russia, in 1994 in the Budapest Memorandum, first got the Ukrainian nuclear missiles, in return promised Ukraine the inviolability of the Ukrainian borders, but then invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. But it could also be that the world community is annoyed by Russian soldiers murdering and raping in a foreign country and then claiming that it was Ukrainian soldiers who did it. It's just stupid that Ukrainian soldiers are supposed to have done this only after Russian soldiers invaded Ukraine and not before. What could be the reason for that? Who forced Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden... to become members of NATO? Who forced these countries not to orientate themselves according to the great Russian values? For decades, Russia has taught the Poles, Latvians, Estonians and Lithuanians the great Russian values. Does Russia really seriously wonder why no one wants to play with Russia anymore? And Russia continues to threaten: If you don't want to play with me, I'll set off nuclear missiles. And you only talk about making money. It's a bit narrow-minded. Victoria Nuland did not attack Ukraine. That was Russia in February this year. Victoria Nuland is not responsible for Russia's aggression towards other countries. Putin is the only one responsible for that! Russia invaded Ukraine. Not Victoria Nuland. Who forced Russia to invade Ukraine? Reminder: After the annexation of Crimea, which was against international law, there was just few reactions from the West. The West knows how important the Black Sea Fleet is for Russia. Ukraine is handing over its nuclear weapons to Russia and the West is letting Russia keep its Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, despite the annexation, which is against international law. There was no discussion from the West about the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The West's military threat to Russia cannot have been that dangerous.
