Whoever is reading this, I hope you have a great day! Here is some artist inspiration for you 🎨 ✨ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OwQvrPaL4zI.html
I'm definitely a painterwho has a deep love for history, physical books & learning about old techniques. I did find my love for art as a costume/fashion design student who was forced to take an art class. So I despise comfy clothes unless they're fashionable or unique.
I know someone in our college’s Art program and she paints and she’s exactly as you described except for the clothes she wears preppy/comfy clothes and she’s super calm and soft spoken very nice person ❤❤
I'm more of an illustrator (using colored pencils and markers) and ceramicist. But I do enjoy watercolor painting as well. Thanks for posting this video!! All of these were very true and are more visible in college than it is anywhere else. I definitely know from experience!
Me too! My favourite medium is water soluble colour pencil and I am also interested in pen. Sometimes I also have ceramics project at school, so I really want to see another episode, especially about using 3D medium!
I felt really called out with the graphite apart from being neat and tidy. My desk is an absolute mess! If you are going to do a part two, could I suggest a mix-media artist? I and some other artists use different medias regularley. I really love your art style and I hope you have a good day or night!
I second this! I use... a LOT of different mediums; maybe not all at once but I can say with hand on heart that when I'm "in the depths" so to speak, I naturally gravitate to my paints and just paint all those bad feelings outta me. ( ;^_^)>
I luuuuv drawing with colored pencils, if you draw/color with colored pencils I reccomend Arteza or Prismacolor, and use “Toned Tan” paper! It helps ALOT!
u always come up with some pretty good stories but never finish them and u never find time to write them down? 😂 is that the description u were looking for?😅
I am a painter, but I am anything but patient 😂 I’m also really bad with not ever finishing my paintings, they’ll just sit in my office for months on end, and then eventually I’ll find the inspiration to finish them 🥴 you did get the sorta vintage thing spot on though, I have always been a lover of old, or antique things, it gets incorporated in both my work and my everyday style 😁
I feel like these names kind of fit- Pencil girl: Maggie (this one I’m not proud of, lol) Crayon child: River Painting girl: Destiny Digital art gremlin (aka me lol): Quinn Plzzzz blow this up I want her to see this lol 😭✋🥓
For me, I do a mixture of teaditional art, sewing and digital art. I’m not very good at any of them tho 😂 but I do the standard “pencil sketch, ink, color with achahol markers” approach
can confirm, i have nearly drank my paint water more times than i'd like to admit. One day it's not gonna be ''nearly'' and I fear whenever that day is
You’ve got me all wrong.. Me- *has every art supply you could possibly imagine, yet only uses a pencil-* *also very messy, wears literally anything I first see in my closet, as long as it’s comfy, and I draw my emotions yet I can’t paint, but I’m good at my weird, terrible anime / illustration type style* *only good at traditional art, though used to be good at digital* *also very weird* *Oh, Yes, And Also terrible at every skill in general, including art- oh and did I mention Ambiverted?*
It’s crazy to think that there lots of people do art but in different ways I think that is amazing that a lot of people likes the same thing but in different ways 😊❤
I would love to see knitting/crochet in your next one! It is the medium I am working in a lot right now because it is just so accessible and I'm able to make little gifts for people.
I'm the crayon artist and I DO love drawing animals! I'm also here to have fun and make nice art. On the other hand, I'm also really into doing very detailed, close work as I like the challenge of using such a chaotic medium. I noticed you said it's really hard to get crayons to make smooth colour, and I think you're right, but I don't seek to make my colours smooth, since the texture of crayons adds to the piece for me. I like using them to make gritty, grainy, gestural work with them.
I also draw with crayon sometimes and if you do it a certain way, you can actually get some pretty smooth blends! I made something recently that is sort of realistic with crayon!
I am a pencil user when I draw in my notebook, I just use some mechanical pencils I have, but a tip, never use the same mechanical pencil for too long (unless mine are just specifically super cheap), the graphite in those dull out and become a completely different way of using a pencil , even if they look sharp
Not meant to be rude or anything, but I'm genuinely wondering if everybody does that or if there's people who really only stick to one medium. I don't do everything (I don't have money for acrylic paint or copics for example so I don't really do that often) but I also draw with a lot of mediums. I have a clear preference for watercolours, but I don't only do watercolours.
I’m a digital artist and have been for years. So I can say with confidence that what you stated was entirely accurate! Pro tip: Get blue lights lenses/glasses to help decrease the strain, works super well for me!
I started drawing on paper first so sometimes when I use digital I will “zoom in” by just, getting realllllll up close and personal with my phone. Other times I do the opposite and try to zoom out on my paper
As someone who commonly uses watercolour paints, I am exactly like the digital artist. The only thing you got wrong was my hoodie, it doesnt actually have skulls on it
I loved watching this!- ^^ i feel like, should time provide the space for it ofc, it would be interesting to see you’re takes on like specific types of painters? Like by what type of paint they use, from water colors;oil;gauche(?), etc. I think that would be really cool ^^
I do so much digital art that I have so bad eye sight that people think I never close my eyes 😂 there's also lot of lore in real life but people that actually know me know Im really nice
"Uh these are the types of people who probably a full set of pencils[.]" Yeah no lmao I stick with a mechanical pencil and even though I got the hardness type of pencils I can't distinguish the need for them (because shading fully is horrendous)
For me, I like and prefer to draw with pencil but I still enjoy things like anime and animations, I also want to be an animator, yet I still like to make things realistic when drawing with pencil, shading in particular 🙂
as a Digital and Traditional artist I had horrible posture since I was a kid cause health issues; my hair is bland and normal. I dislike Monster (It gives no energy to me), and I have insomnia so I just stay up late anyways. As for unkempt hair I hate my hair getting in my face. And I like wearing the clothes that are poofy but nice (but I do spend a lot of time in a hoodie to cover the arm from a fan, pj pants, lots of water, and a under armor shirt (Also known as a wife beater shirt) idk why its called that. So I give you a 2 out of 10 rating for capturing the allure of the ability to draw in layers. I wish I was better with graphite and painting but sadly my hands shake too much so digital really helps with keeping the movements steady! But I do love your art and your thoughts. Its well thought out none the less.
ever since i was very young, i always gravitated towards just pencil. i still do. the way you can know where to go and the feeling when drawing with a pencil is (in my opinion) superior to the other ways of drawing
mixture pencils and pens here, I think the subject choice has a major effect as well, in my case I'm a scatter-brained coffee-addict who generally draws machinery and vehicles so words like "clean" and "organised" don't really apply lol doesn't help I'm prone to coming up with ideas in the middle of work so I carry around scrap paper to doodle on haha personally I find pencils to be very useful for quick-sketching when designing what-if vehicles and with more important drawings I often get two-lines into a drawing before stopping and trying again (thank the gods for erasers). If by some miracle I get to complete the design without scrapping it I finish it in a clean gel-pen line with soft pencils for shading (you were spot-on with the smudging but sometimes it can be used for extra character lol)
Personally I like to do my more detailed art digitally (with my iPad and Apple Pencil since I can't get used to using a computer and drawing tablet), but often I just casually draw whatever I feel like with pencil or pen. I usually prefer to draw animals/fictional creatures because I can't get human faces/proportions right and I just like mythical beasts and stuff.
I'm the opposite! Going from traditional to digital, I keep forgetting there's an undo. The fact that there are so many functions on a digital are program is a bit overwhelming for me.
Ooh, really would have loved to have seen doodlers, graffiti artists, crafters, and a couple of others that those you wouldn't typically see in art schools, but I absolutely loved these designs!
Me who hasn’t drawn in a month: *“Mhm, yes this will be useful.”* update: so i just drew a lady’s face and then realized i didn’t know where to put her neck so i gave her half a neck and cut the other half off then gave her a bunch of stitches and she’s a zombie now idk what im doing
"I know a lot of digital artists who are sort of hooked on monster." Me a graphic design student: *watching this, monster in hand* I've been attacked, but I'm not mad about it.
Definitely same. I am a graphic design student, too, and I prefer to drink monster over other energy drinks. Redbull is too expensive and the ones that are cheaper than monster don't taste that good to me. I know monster is too sweet, but it doesn't taste like piss at least lol.
I've never tried monster but there's a lot of people in my class at college (I'm an art student) who often stumble into lesson late with a can of monster in their hand xD I'm more of an ice coffee person lol
I'm a combination pencil, painter, and digital. Typically, I find it hard to just begin something on the computer from scratch, so I draw it out on printer paper first, then use the drawing as a base or lineart for the finished product (scanning it onto the computer) - painting out the entire drawing only on rare occasions. Plus, it gives a great feeling of accomplishment to have something in the physical world to represent your work. I enjoy working with charcoal and watercolors on occasion, but the marriage of pencil drawing and digital painting is the main method I use in creating my art. I could definitely identify with these different personalities - especially with the utilitarian hair - though caffeine repels me. Oh... But I do have a crap sleep schedule, though. Also, I need to get me some smudge-resistant gloves; I had no idea such a thing exists before now.
I'm pencil and digital. I first draw the piece on paper then I draw the same piece on my laptop. I don't do scanning, and my physical is much more messier than my digital. I also do mixing and I love color theory. Most of my sketches start with simple shapes and then I add detail. My digital art is based of layers and shapes, and I always mix colors to make things look nicer. Oh, and I hate caffeine.
recommendation for fellow painters: keep your paint water in a mason jar with a lid on between washing your brushes! you don’t have to worry about paint water spilling, your pets can’t get into it, and you’re less likely to try to drink it if you have to take the extra action of taking off the lid. has def helped me out lol!
WHEN i decide to paint i put it in a plastic cup, like a really flimsy solo cup, and drink out of a mug. I place them on opposing sides of my desk, with my paints next to my paint cup. If i go to get a drink and its the paint water the cup will squish a bit so i know its not my drink.
I draw my OC a lot of the time. i am a combo of the pencil and digital artist. i love to draw with pens or pencils on my paper depending on the mood set. When I draw digitally, I often use my phone and my hands to draw (my pfp is a good example). this video I think was very accurate to the types of artists in your eyes. thank you for sharing these masterpieces!
I want another part! Some suggestions: marker artists, the all rounder who switches from one thing to another, coloured pencil artist, the one who makes sculptures, pastel artists and maybe even ballpoint artists
@@beatrice7778 colored pencil artists unite! I feel like I am a mix of the painter, pencil artist, and the crayon artist because of the colorful aspect of colored pencil and the blending of colors on the page and the pencil like nature of colored pencils.
I personally use pens to draw. It's really relaxing knowing there's no undo so there's no pressure to have it turn out perfect. The messier the better! Ink smudges are a way of life now...
@@janesullivan692 I used to be like this, pen art really helped me let that "neat freak" side of myself go and to just have fun, one of the properties of pen is that it looks better the messier it is (in a skillful and purposeful way anyway), i myself find it perfect for sketchbooks since its long lasting, wont smodge, rub off or bleed through (for cheap notebooks which is what i use) and (a minor aesthetic plus) it gives any sketchbook that sketchy/idea-i-had-right-on-the-spot feeling
Colored pencil artists are terrifying, especially the ones who draw photo realistic. They're art is amazing but I can't imagine how much their wrists must hurt 😨
Heeeyyy, I make most of my arts with colored pencils, kdodakoadkoa My wrist don't hurt (YET), guess I'm too young... but for sure my right hand's wrist crack veeery easily tho
Could you make a part two for this? i really like it, but there's way more fun art mediums out there that you can explore! :D my preferred medium for example: colored pencil. well, technically normal pencils, fineliners, and then colored pencils. also alcohol markers could be another one that would fit nicely, and some kind of 3d art. you don't have to make a part two, but there's a lot of potential for a fun video! :)
I'm curious to see a "what your digital art style says about you" :D For example: heavy lineart, a painterly look, textures everywhere, lineless, etc...
I'm the "all inclusive artist" bc whatever I've got to make art with, I'm probably using it. I have a few paintings, 2 ohuhu sketchbooks completely filled up, I have 50+ drawings on Ibis paint on my phone and I use alcohol markers if I draw something I really like. I draw with whatever I've got bc art looks beautiful in all styles lol
I Draw On Paper And Transfer On My Phone To Digitalize It By Tracing My Own Drawing And I Also Color It With Colored Pencils And Sometimes Markers And Sometimes Pencils
as a painter, thank you for portraying us so well. indeed drinking paintwater is a serious problem. and yes when i look for references my emotions tie in a lot lol. comfy clothes are a must but also somehwat old clothes that you wouldnt mind getting dirty are preferable. sometimes when i draw traditional, casual sketches im like "dam thats wierdly aesthetic looking i should do it digitally" and then i never do :'D
"What your art medium says about you" Me: **stares at table with a drawing tablet, canvases, watercolor paint, watercolor markers, guache, acrylic paint, oil paint, oil pastels, chalk, pens, pencils, colored pencils, clays, crayons, paint markers, wood, carving tools, paint brushes, and alcohol markers...*
@@peepeepoopoodoodoohead haha, it's my job, So I really do need to have the stuff. Luckily if you have multiple art related jobs, then you'll be given multiple art related stuff for free, though it is a hard working 10 hours a day.
I would like to see your interpretation of a multi-media artist! This is the category I fall in myself, so kind of a mix of a graphite artist, a little bit of a painter, and a digital artist as well
Can’t forget inks, alcohol/water-based markers, coloured pencils and the like! I too am a multi/mixed media artist and most of my art pieces have anywhere from 1 to 4 medias in the final product. I’m pretty much never using the right type of paper or surface for the job but it gets it done
Me, a digital artist, who's been drinking an energy drink the entire time I've been watching this, in sweats and a flannel ive been wearing for a week straight, unshowered with the same exact messy, unruly ponytail as the pic: now this is just unfair
I drink coconut water while drawing/studying/doing anything that allows me to have a free hand to drink coconut water. Although healthier than an energy drink, I drink so much that last time I had my potassium level tested, it was deadly high. I stopped drinking coconut water for a few months and it was torture
Sadly, the reality (at least with oil painting) is that you never look good while painting because all you dare to wear is something that either has paint on it already, or you don’t mind getting destroyed. And if you do realism you don’t even get the cute paint-splatter look, just a brownish-green mass of chaos down the front of your apron...
@@sssunnyd7874 it’s one thing if you do watercolor or gouache, and some temperas are actually edible, but another entirely if it’s acrylics, or even worse, oils... At this point I refuse to buy scentless turpentine because it’s too easy to mistake for water 😂 But if I think about it I probably ingested some oils and acrylics, and *definitely* a lot of watercolors, and I’m still alive...
Me: "Why is my eyesight and why is my back hurting?" Also Me: **hunched over and stareing about not even a few feet away from my tablet screen for hours on end**
if you do a part two here are some ideas: -copics (i would love to see this one since i am a copic artist myself :D) -watercolors -clay art -wood carving -pastels -markers (when i say markers im talking about crayola or a brand like that) -ink -a mixed media artist (i saw somebody else comment mix media artist so i wrote it here i dont wanna take credit for somebody else's idea)
I mean I would do alcohol markers in general, I prefer prismacolies and really don’t like using copics. But each have their own strengths so I would do all brands as well. Copic ohuhu prisma and promarker. I’d love to see some of your art if you share it, since it’s hard to find marker artists on social media!
@@torid.344 I wish i could share my art on social media im only 12 so my parents wont let me get social media sadly but I might be able to when im 13 :D also there is a youtube channel called minori and she does alot of anime and copic art she got me into copic markers in the first place! check out her channel out if you are interested :)
I make pencil drawings that I scan and colour digitally. I love traditional art, but I also love the limitless colours of digital mediums, so I just combine the two. Sometimes I’ll do something completely traditional, and sometimes I’ll do something completely digital, but blending the two mediums can be really fun.
I really love blending colors. This is why I am IN LOVE with painting. Digital just tosses you the colors, and it’s fun for me to buy paints and test around with different unique colors.
SAME! At the end of the day, while my graphite art is more common (more accessable for me) and I can do graphite so much better than digital, I like to use digital for colors and I relate way more to the average digital artist lol
Scanners really arent expensive at all, my parents barely made a fuss about getting one while i had to ask for a tablet for ages. Idk about drawing bigger than a4 size paper though
I feel like watercolor is a bit missed out here. I use it for my art primarily, and I feel like it’s a whole different area of painting because you can use it with line art and precision.
I love how different the painter is from the digital artist. I’m a person who does both, and both of those personalities fit. And it’s weird because I can be so patient with my paint but when it comes to digital art I have none. 😅
@@aidenflame1576 I do graphite on digital sometimes if it makes sense (basically I use a thin lineart pen with texture and do the usual graphite things)
