I put a TON of time into producing this one, likely the longest I've ever worked on one! And I hope you guys enjoy it. I obviously cannot fit in the thousands of metal bands or every single one requested but I try to pace it and give a diverse list from as many genres and decades as I possibly can, fueled by your suggestions! Fun fact: I did this with a high school AP group, unintentionally. They were studying history and I had two dates correct just in an instant, and I said to the group of 4 girls and 1 guy "If you really want to get good at history, listen to Sabaton. Their music is 2500 years of famous battles". That's literally all it took.

They said that these kinds of bands are like the male leads in those old romance books where the men are all buff and dreamy in a way but HIM and Type O Negative are gothic versions of that. Also, I lump in Woods of Ypress into this group too. Music is good, tho

One of my favorite things about these videos is sometimes you get me into bands and then sometimes you make me realize why I enjoy the bands I do in the first place. Plus you’re just fun to listen to. Your videos are like talking to a friend for me. With that being said may I have some band recommendations? You never miss. So far you have gotten me into Ashenspire Paysage D’Hiver I have asked for Tiamat before s few times so I know damn well you know they are my favorite metal band And you made me remember why I loved Agalloch as much as I do. Any band (doesn’t have to be metal ) recommendations based off of these names would be greatly appreciated. I must fuel my pretentious taste in everything.

Thing about me in anything is I wanna find something that matches me aesthetically but often a singular genre doesn’t do it. I like getting obsessed with things. You ended up spawning two of those so I genuinely trust your judgment. Also I’m glad that meant a lot to you because I meant it a lot. You are one of the only content creators I actively sit down and watch. If you have any band or artist recommendations based on the names I have listed I’m all ears and greatly appreciate it. @@TheMetalTempestYT Yep. Boris is the band that if you wanna get doom metal bands who usually only listen to western doom metal into the Japanese stuff, start with Early Boris, then Gallhammer, Church Of Misery, and then Corruption for the most ultra depressing sludge metal Japan can offer.

The Native Howl: although relativly new to the metal scene, they have managed to open metal heads eyes to how thrashy blue grass and folk music can actually get. Kontrust: as a fan you have a hard time describing what genre they fall into, and so instead you just continue to vibe to their fun and up beat music. Russkaja: as a fan you try and ignore the fact they are obxiously political in all their albums and just enjoy the up beat turbo polka music they produce.

My favorite anti-war "war" band would be 1914, but I do remember when Agent Orange was released. Wonder what you think of Celeste or Perchta if/when you do another list.

I first listened to Asking Alexandria in 2012 and immediately became my fav band, and I'd say they'd be my fav band until 2021 (another band got my heart), but it's just so heatbreaking how bad their songs are now. The first albums are metalcore masterpieces and now I can't even listen to what they release cuz IT MAKES ME WANNA CRY. They should just retire already edit 1: great summary about xasthur edit 2: correct about mgla... so correct (sobbing) edit 3: as someone who grew up to metalcore and inevitably knew bmth since the first albums... yeah I just dont listen to their new stuff lol

God damn the SOAD one is painfully true, not because I think the writing would be bad necessarily, though I don’t think their newest songs are amazing, but Serj has decided to sing weird to protect his voice I’m guessing? So it wouldn’t sound as good.

I know Periphery are overrated it doesn't make it any less fun though Anyway my favourite bands are Anaal Nathrakh, Revocation, Ne Obliviscaris, Gorod, and First Fragment.

one of my fav bands is defetead sanity but in this case i would say dying fetus i like nile too but sometimes they sound so technical, i want my shit brutal and i fw bands like emperor, marduk any other BM bands. honarable bands you guys should try (if you like extreme stuff): Scour(BM band), kanonenfieber(blackened DM band), Last days of humanity(goregrind)

Got called out by Nightwish haha I am indeed a pagan and yes I adore Blind Guardian too they are the reason I read The Silmarillion and adore Tolkien's works now so thanks BG. There is nothing more magical than singing the Bard's Song with hundreds of people at a Blind Guardian concert. I really hope to see my all time favourite band Blackbriar in one of these videos because I adore them a lot and maybe people will check them out if they are mentioned in videos like this one. A lot of favourite bands of mine are always missing but it is fine I know I listen to a lot of newer European bands that no one has heard of. I became a fan of a band that supported Blackbriar on their 2 Dutch farewell shows, they were two shows to say goodbye before going on tour in America with Battle Beast. Anyways the band is Solarcycles a very witchy folk metal band with just one album and an EP, at every concert I go to I try to get more fans for Solarcycles.

Cradle of filth gets a bad rap. Alot of their albums are crap but just like most bands. Their first few albums were amazing. If you can listen to cruelty and the beast and tell me they suck then you and i just dont look for the same things in our black metal. If you want music that sounds like 12 year olds wrote it and recorded it in 1985 in their garage while somehow simultaneously hiding behind trees in the snow covered forest.....thats cool. Ill stick with the lyrical genious and great musicianship and actual song writing that was cradel of filth.

@@TheMetalTempestYT oh I didn't notice. Let me tell how I and I assume a lot of other people look at these videos when they don't know ALL the bands mentioned. They skim through the video, looking at the still images for the names they want to see. It's the nature of long list videos. Sorry, I only listen religiously to like 3 bands and that's it.

I could say that I'm not a pagan, but if someone listened to even one second of nightwish and the other sinilar type crap that I listen to, they wouldn't believe me(I'm not a pagan) But I also loved your previous statement about nightwish so so much
