Royal Guard’s Sword: You’ve been procrastinating storming Hyrule Castle (and finishing the game) and your inventory is filled with them, but you keep picking them up because “it’s solid, I guess”
If you’re talking about the Royal broadsword then you’re right on the dot. Edit: I forgot I made this comment and a week or so after I commented I found the Royal Guard’s Sword.
Royal broadsword: You always either have forty billion of them in your inventory or zero, since you use them in fear of breaking your stronger weapons. 👍
You’re forgetting another important reasoning for the bomb: hoarder’s anxiety in early game when you’re too scared of breaking all your weapons on weak enemies and having nothing for the big ones, it has taken many weeks of carefully deciding which weapons to take and which to toss to make room before I decided to Actually Use Them instead of slowly bombing my way through hyrule
Or when you do t have any other weapon because they broke. I was stuck in hyrule castle for 5 minutes bombing a silver moblin to get his royal guards clamour
I actually just really enjoy the Guardian equipment animations. The little activation noise and flowy lights are just very satisfying to me, plus I like how it looks when sheathed. Makes it super easy to match with just about any armor combo for Fashion of The Wild purposes :)
I'm not gonna lie, the Korok leaf is probably one of the best weapons in the game in hardmode. There are plenty of situations where it is much easier to just blow enemies off a cliff then hitting them. It makes some encounters a lot easier.
I like the Lizal Tri-boomerang. It has decent attack power, but is faster than a lot of the heavier powerful weapons. It can be used more easily with a shield than two-handed weapons, and can also be used as a long-range weapon.
@@baysingerfam4 Maybe, but that doesn’t alter the functionality. You can snatch a Tri-Boomerang right off a Lizal pretty easily rather than spending time and resources getting something more “rare” like a Guardian Short Sword
For anyone who’s favourite weapon is the stick is probably either too scared to use their actual good weapons in fear of breaking them, or a hardcore gamer who’s looking to defeat Ganon with it
Alternatively for 2:30 (for Master Mode specifically) You either have nightmares about the Lizalfos Room, or you learned sheild-clipping to _avoid_ the Lizalfos Room.
I don’t really have nightmares of the lizalfos room, sneak attack chaining is all you need to beat it. But I do have nightmares of that moblin in the 10th section 💀
I learned Shield-Clipping to avoid the ENTIRE Trial of the Sword... except the starting rooms and the Hinox room from the end of the first trial. Yes, I watched Kleric's vid and copied.
Okay it has its niche usefulness and definite comedic value, but when you need room for an actual weapon, for me, it's the first thing to go every time and only comes back for an extremely specific use. I do like it a lot, but just can't say I like having it
The spring loaded hammer actually has the highest weapon durability in the game, which is useful for durability transfer glitches, and probably some other stuff
Most durability in the base game yeah. It’s also useful with enemy launches if used properly. I’ve got some fun clips sending Guardians skywards using a spring loaded hammer
I think the master sword as favourite weapon just means you value all of your other weapons more, because the master sword can never break. Intended to seal the darkness, but most useful against the basic boko's and keese you'll encounter everywhere you go.
i love remote bombs bc nothing beats the feeling of taking down a whole monster camp while going unnoticed (also without wasting arrows or weapon durability) you just need a lot of patience
As a bow of light user, you're very much on point, I honestly don't remember the last time I did a playthrough without blss and it's been straight up years since I've done one without windbombs, I also have the one hit obliterator on my main account, and quite frankly I'd personally say that anyone who doesn't use whistle running is clinically insane and belongs on some lists. Though, one thing I'm a bit embarrassed to admit is, I can't quite do shield clip consistently.
I like all the one-handed elemental swords: Flameblade, Iceblade, Thunderblade... you can still use your shield with em equipped. Guardian swords, spears and axes are fun too
I love the Edge of Duality, but only because I thought there was only one way to find one at first (the waterfall treasure side quest) and avoided using it for like 100 hours of gameplay because I didn't want to break the "only one"
I found my first Edge of Duality in one of the labyrinths and I treasured it for days. One day it broke (I’d like to think during a lynel fight) and I took a moment to pause. Then I found another one in a chest, and my eyes lit up Idk what it is, but the perfect 50 damage and the super long blade with no extended hilt is just really satisfying to swing
There’s a cave near the gerudo tower (the one over the huge pit) where you can find one that respawns. There’s also a moblin wielding one in zelda’s study up in hyrule castle
I’m gonna have to agree with you on that one. Some don’t like them because of their damage value, but once you get a flurry rush in on the enemy… do I even need to say more?
The Falcon Bow and Steel Lizal Bow are tied as my favorite bows in the game. They just look so cool. And I love the Guardian Spear ++. Such a cool design, I just wish it had more durability.
I was using the Ancient Spear yesterday. I never really bothered with spears before, but I kinda like it. Apparently the Frost Spear is actually the most effective in the game, on average.
Champion weapons: these are your favorites, because you got them from the champions. You don’t use them, because your afraid of breaking them. But if you do use them, you always replace them.
As someone with a Forest Dweller's Sword sitting on display at Link's house in Hateno Village and one in my inventory, I can say the part about Hoarder's Anxiety rings way too true. But that's because there are a *_limited number_* of said weapon in the game. Once it's gone, it *STAYS* gone. Same goes for the Kite Shield, and certain Lynel weapons that vanish when Lynels throughout Hyrule "level up" as you progress through the game and defeat more overworld enemies.
My favorite design of a weapon is the feathered edge and I only know of a single place you can get it. As soon as I found it I sold a bunch of gems, warped to Hateno, and bought link’s house and display plaques on the spot just to preserve it
The spring loaded hammer is super useful. You just have to use it at night. It’s the best weapon for keeses who take 1 point of damage as well as for stalkoblins and land-based octoroks, who only need 2 points of damage. The spring loaded hammer and the edge of duality are my favorites
Another cool thing about the spring loaded hammer is that, on the 4th combo hit, it will send the enemy flying. I often use it to send bokoblins and lizalfos to their deaths from great heights if the opportunity arises. Sadly that only works on small enemies. Does nothing to moblins, lynels, guardians, etc..
Croton is an asshole I was on his discord and this one guy was planning to hack the server, so I was trying to stop him and then the guy told croton that I was trying to hack the server and after I got banned croton DMd me and called me a retarded bitch you might think I’m lying, but I’m telling the truth
The blizzard rod can honestly have its own unique one do to it's crowd control is insane making it easyer to focus down a enemy which is so dang useful in hero/master mode or whatever they call it.
1st favorite is probably the Rusty claymore, thanks so much for reminding me of The Korok Leaf, I use it for bowling. I completely forgot about the giant and small boomerangs though, as I have only found one of the massive boomerang, but I still love it. Thanks so much!!!!
I think it just shows that you like hunting moldugas and black hinoxes more than anything because why wouldn’t you just go for the savage lynel crusher or the respawning major test of strength ancient axes instead
My favorite weapon in BOTW is the savage lynel bow, everything just falls to it. I burned through 6 of them on the flying drones climbing up death mountain for the divine beast. My favorite way of farming it every blood moon is to abuse major test of strengths for their weapons since it is super easy with stasis plus, then using the guardian axes to cheese the other major tests of strength then using the swords, spears, and shields to farm gold lynels. Ooor you could remove skill from the equation by abusing urbosas fury to defeat moldugas and hinoxes in one cycle before they can even get up for the first time. You can even stun lock and spin a silver lynel to death if you use up all 3 charges. Unfortunately It only works on the spear gold lynel because only the spear version lacks a close range attack allowing you to release the spin later than the sword or crusher variant.
@@notoriousnosk8876 Same, I encountered my first silver lynel in the snow plains at top left corner of the map, I spent 2 hours trying to beat it with only headshots and climbing on its back. I slowly learned that you can only do a max of 5 hits before you are kicked off and that you can backflip into bullet time to shoot arrows Into the head. I learned the timing of the charging to get flurry rushes, only for the missed overhead swing impact to kill me in the middle of my flurry rush when the crusher hits the floor. I then slowly learned you can parry the attacks, which was so much easier to do than dodging. The excitement i felt when i beat it was incredible. I was thinking if the mini bosses were this difficult, then the 4 divine beasts and ganon must be even more difficult right? So I start farming silver lynels until my entire inventory were attack up savage lynel bows and savage lynel swords and shields along with 500 of each type of arrow just in case the boss gets too difficult or too tanky. So I do my first divine beast which is Revali’s divine beast. I shoot 1 arrow into his face…. more than a quarter of his life is gone and he is stunned, I fire 3 more shots…. My first thought was “that’s it?” My reward was revali’s bow which was weaker than any of the savage bows i was carrying at the moment. So i head straight to hyrule castle and find out I only needed 20 arrows total to beat the game, and that the elemental arrows and bomb arrows I have been saving up actually deals LESS damage to bosses than the normal arrows. I learned that bomb arrows do the same damage with every single bow in the game and that multishot bows do not increase the damage only the explosion radius. the difficulty curve in the game feels unbalanced. I now exclusively play the game on master mode, I’m trying to chase that sense of overcoming difficulty but I feel that taking the easiest route and only following major roads to objective markers in the game rewards you with way too much in comparison to just exploring around.
@@onewayraildex4827 dang, good job. my first lynel and divine beast fights were way back when i was terrible at the game and barely escaped with my life, but now nearly my whole inventory is savage lynel gear and the divine beasts are more of just puzzles than fights. i know all the puzzles pretty well and lynels still hold up as more fun than any of the major bosses almost 500 hours later
My favorite is the Zora Greatsword, just because it looks so cool. For actual fighting, i like the ancient swords. They are one-handed, hit hard, have okay durability and you can use them during thunderstorms!
I really love the Lizal boomerangs I usually get a bunch right before Vah Ruta so its like a sign of progression also the Yiga Clan bows are awesome looking
Royal Guard Broadsword. I like how it is supposed to be a replica Master Sword, and it has good design. I do use a glitch to give it more durability though. Still, I really like it.
i like the royal broadsword. theres a lot of them when you get far enough into the game, as well as the other royal gear, like the bow and shield. theyre pretty durable, but my favorite thing is when i stumble upon a royal broadsword with 60 instead of the regular 36, i think it is anyway.
There are a few Hinox spawns that make farming Royal weapons stupidly easy... which is exactly how I played the game the first time. I couldn't be arsed fighting Lynels all the time when I could just sneak onto a sleeping Hinox and nick his stuff.
Aesthetic wise, my favorites are the Traveler's Sword/Bow, Forest Dweller's Sword, Eightfold Blade, and Phrenic Bow. I end up using the duplication/durability glitch to boost those (along with a few stronger weapons for when I need something stronger).
Frostblade is the most gorgeous sword in my opinion, followed by the Royal Broadsword. Phrenic bow is a stellar hunting bow, and the longblade is a really fun sword to use.
Amazing video! Ok, (I can only see how many people are gonna get mad at me) but I think the master sword without the glow just looks better. Idk why, that’s just how it is for me
It took more than a year’s worth of attempts to beat all the trials of the sword in master mode, and it accompanied me through my korok hunt. Yeah, it’s my favorite.
@@kaitlynthomas9613 prolly around 3 months of actual active play. I went through a strategy indie game phase for a while Edit: that is to say, it took me around 35-40 hours of actual play time
I like remote bombs because its so funny trolling monsters with them. the high nockback and the fact that you can put 2 of them wherever you want and trigger them whenever you want has led to me doing some great bokoblin shenanigans
Okay but the royal broadsword is the perfect one handed weapon when you need to whoop some ass very quickly without worrying about it breaking anytime soon.
My fav is probably the bomb arrow ,or a royal claymore If your a wuss like me ,staying on high ground and shooting a load of arrows is always a great option 😌
The Giant Boomerang is my favorite weapon. When you throw it it comes back to you and won't break hitting enemies when throwing and it just looks and sounds really cool.
I prefer to use my fully upgraded master sword. Most of the other weapon slots are for rare or high damage weapons that I can't fit on the wall of Links house 😁.
My favorite weapon from DAY ONE has been anything under the influence of magnesis. I can smash away at anything without a care in the world. And guess what? If you are playing in handheld mode with motion controls, even better! You can act like you are having a seizure with a giant metal crate and kill a lynel!
This is actually how the any% speed run of master mode goes , where you bring the metal crate from magnesis trial all the way to the temple of time where the bomb arrow silver lynel is and proceed to smash it with the metal box repeatedly while stun locking it by shooting it in the face every time he tries to get up. The savage lynel bow deals 100 split into 3 shots and along with attack boost 3, and headshots, you can beat any blight and Ganon with just 7 well placed shots each, making it so you only need about 40 arrows minus any damage from melee weapons to beat the game.
I love the elemetal weapon mechanics where they run out of their respective element after like 4 swings so you have to switch between them or another weapon.
Wood cutter's ax helped me make a bunch of firewood to cook into hard food in the underground trails for those 6 or so extra hearts that came in clutch for emergencies when I get to the cooking pot floor.
In Tears of the Kingdom I would like Links House to have a chest to store a few rare weapons. More than the three you can store with the display cases.
I really like the knights halberd for some reason, spears in general are pretty great. Also the eightfold longblade just because they are so rare, I've only ever found like 2
The lizalfos weapons and lynel weapons are in my opinion the best and easiest to get consistently early and late game. Lizal weapons specifically are just great all rounders
The upgraded master sword is so accurate, I swear lmao So much bomb-spamming and looking for anything remotely metallic to use as bludgeons to save durability, and The only thing that saved me was a lizalfos boomerang during that trial
