At last, that's the heavy exotics done! I find these to be much more of a mixed bag than the kinetic and energy exotics; pretty much anything that isn't wildly popular and META-defining tends to be completely neglected and forgotten, there's very little in between for these. Nonetheless, I hope you have enjoyed the video, and I'm very grateful for your attention. Also! I am streaming tomorrow Sunday the 8th at 1pm PST right here on this RU-vid channel where due to strangely popular request, we will be ranking Destiny characters by how much they f*ck. Yes, I am aware that is a dumb topic, but because I have brainrot from playing Destiny it sounds mildly funny. Check the description for linked shorts to any missing heavy exotics, as well as the videos about kinetic and energy exotics.
@kurtcobainsmicrophone237 yea this thing absolutely melts unstoppables. It can two shot most of them not to mention the fact the poison wave will kill all the ads around it is nice too. It's honestly superior most rocket launchers. Each arrow does about as much damage as a rocket launcher and you can probably fire it faster than you can most rocket launchers too since they take forever to reload. Not to mention it has twice the ammo capacity. It's main downside is you can't use it on ads cause they don't have enough health to trigger the poison explosion but who wastes heavy ammo on ads anyways?
someone described it as "savathun could sing a song so cringey it caused cardiac arrest. we got the song sheet and remixed it. now it's a rocket launcher. i think." and i love it
Lament enjoyer here, that was spot on! Flying enemies like servitors can be frustrating, but i must admit i giggle everytime it launches me into a wall at mach 10.
Whisper user here: while i know the history of whisper, i'm a new whisper user because taken stuff look cool and my thought process has essentially been "if I can deal about as much damage as LFRs with this thing, why bother using another exotic?" the second part is correct either way though, it needs to shine again.
"You might be one of the few people who haven't abandoned Gambit. In which case you should seek professional help" Me and my 7 times gilded Dredgen title feel insulted.... but you right
Just want to say as a true believer in William the Worm, worm go big boom is the primary use and forgetting that he is a nuke in tube and using him as a shotgun is his only downside…
God damn you didn't have to hit the nail that hard. The whisper one as a whisper of the worm heavy exotic lover you are completely right. Still didn't have to swing for the bushes.
I love Worldline Zero. (Blink Hunter) The Temporal strike has crazy range & can net easy doulbe or triple kills. People also forget it has the adaptive frame uppercut when not springting or when below full energy. Basically like having a vortex frame with extra heavy attack range & an adaptive frame sword rolled into one.
Prospector Instructions: Equip Prospector and Nightstalker subclass. Play Gambit. Invade. Go invisible, then 3 seconds before being sent back plant 8 grenades in a circle around the enemy bank. Get pulled back to your side and wait for the fun to start.
I main PvP Black Talon (alt Thunderlord) and you nailed me XD I have legit said “well, I have a free exotic slot; might as well put Black Talon on” It’s ammo efficient, insta-kills up close without self-damage, and reliably kills at range in a super sick way. Plus, I used to play Star Warfare, which has a similar ranged sword I loved to use.
I keep wanting to use it since its a shooter blade, but there's always some other bounty or catalyst to fill first and I can't justify slotting it. It's fun, though. Loved working with it to fill the catalyst. So many bugs died on ketchcrash raids so fast. Sweet memories.
I have always been a Whisper of the Worm fan and you are really spot on. Though I came in around the middle to end of Season of the Hunt. I'm just hoping for a good buff so then I can actually experience what it was like in it's prime and also so then I can viable use it in any activity. Because it looks and feels really awesome to use.
Also for us Lament users, we refuse to take it off in any low to mid tier activity and will use it on any champion regardless of whether they’re stunned or not. It’s a race to see whether the unstoppable ogre dies or we do
This video made me realise how rarely heavy exotics are uses compared to D1. Tbf you don't need an exotic heavy when a legendary linear fusion will work much better than most heavy exotics for DPS. Still miss the exotic swords though, Dark Drinker will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Waiting for the Catalyst for over 2 years for Thunderlord, and now it's here, yea, the vid is accurate, do not stop firing until the only thing left in front of you is the smouldering ashes of electrified enemies.
Thunderlord was spot on 🤣. I'm still a newish player so it was the first exotic I got & unlocked the catalyst for so on top of everything else it holds a special place in my titan heart. And while I don't use as much as when I first got it because I'm a solar titan that runs monte carlo, it never goes into my vault & I use it anytime it is warranted.
You missed something on the colony, it used to be able to kill almost every immune enemy with examples being any white shielded vex in GoS or VoG, Taniks, basically anything with a health bar but can't be damage right away
There is also a second type of Thunderlord user who uses it to cheese gambit invades do to the sheer amount of heavy ammo and and basically turn it into the Lorenz Driver of gambit.
I am a fan of eyes because of the satisfaction and the law being that it is literally a peace of artillery. Other heavy’s that I like are colony cus of the exact reason u mentioned, also it’s bug gun, parasite is bug gun as well so that’s a hit to.
Honestly, your description for the Gjallahorn speaks volumes and from my perspective. Despite the ups and downs the games have done over the years, I still enjoy it for what it is and just have fun with it as a whole. From back then to now and to the foreseeable future, it will always have a place in my memories.
The now craft-able sword from the DSC raid is a pretty good choice over Worldine Zero. With Vorpal, other craftable perks, and the Irvin trait that grants ability energy with each killing blow, the sword has some good potential for crafting.
I was prepared for Levi's Breath to get some hate, and I was pleasantly surprised! "You know in your head that this weapon has the potential for ad-clearing, but you know in your heart that you're just gonna keep using it to smack Hydras and Shriekers. Just... make sure you've got high Resilience, because you're gonna get hit with a Mack truck while you haul back that chain."
D.A.R.C.I. ... Was, is, and will always be my everything. Something about it caught and kept my attention from when I first got it during the Red War. I wish it was good again, but it's looking like less of a reality every balance pass. Still, it's neat. It has always been, if nothing else, neat.
As an Heir Apparent main, and a warlock, I can indeed verify that I have Titan brain and enjoy Russian literature. Rasputin is my great uncle in law, and I hear Kalinka in my head every time I rev up.
True favorite exotic: Sunshot, Heavy favorite anarchy, third thunderlord. I also really love Eyes of Tomorrow as a design and idea but in reality it blows. But Ghorn is probably my most used heavy. Anarchy I think still has the most kills as I used it for ad clear but I have used it like twice in the past year. Someday it will return.
Lament was accurate! I’ve never been killed by it launching me, only by the boss when I didn’t break away to let my health regen. MnK 60 FPS here. Deathbringer has a catalyst and it allowed me to invade and wipe whole teams (for the malfeasance quest) doing gambit! The projectiles follow enemies much longer away from the initial detonation than Gjally does, and deathbringer’s projectiles also track around corners more heavily. It sounds like Eyes of Tomorrow’s mechanics although I haven’t tried it myself. The DB is also much better than the Wardcliff coil for multi kills. I use Gjally a lot though, and Xenophage is fun. Grand Overture is for my arc needs. One of my biggest disappointments was the Sleeper Simulant. My enhanced Triple Tap/Firing Line Taipan is so much better. The Sleeper Lacks the damage, magazine, and rounds compared to it.
After going through all 3 it feels nostalgic getting all of these exotics forever ago. You got Ace of Spades and Vex Mythoclast right Grand Overature was definitely right
1K, Acrius, Grand Ouverture. 1k to blow things from afar, G.Ouverture to blow things from mid range, and Acrius to blow things from fist range. ... Yes I'm a Titan main. I don't do subtility.
This brought me back, I remember leaving the game right after the darkness ate half the system, when I left my favorite exotic was the pistol you had to grind gambit for, close second was of course the ace of spades
The lament makes my hunter look small when I wield the sword for stuff. Whenever I have it out, it reminds me of monster hunter world with the monster hunters wielding a great sword by which it looks so outrageous by the weight and huge size of those great swords when one wields one.
As a gjallarhorn main yeah that’s p accurate. Been playing destiny since the day it dropped in 2014 and it was one of my first video games. Love this franchise
My heavy exotic is quite literally just Quickfang. It’s not the best weapon, but I love it to death. I also love running around like a ninja. It just fits my hunter. Plus I never miss
I will admit my pain that others may yell at me for; I solo grinded Whisper PVE only and mostly just by grinding Dares. Hear me out. I've never been much of a PVP person and over the years my eyesight had gotten worse overtime, and meeting the day in the first Destiny where I was omw to start it's original quest was always something I was excited for. Then one day my 360 stopped reading discs and I didn't have enough money to get it fixed. When I saw it was reborn as Whisper in D2 I was soooo excited I wouldn't stop talking about it. Despite it being nerfed and many people telling me I'm dumb for even using it, I don't care. I love Whisper's aesthetic and how powerful it feels to me just holding it. I happily grinded it because by the time I caught up with everyone the quest had vanished so I had to use the Monument. So much memories and the excitement I shared with the friends that I had then gave me more than enough reason to obtain it, and I still use it to this day. Oh and one of the only other major reasons I love it because the end of the barrel looks like a dragon. That's it. Thanks for reading this if you did, I hope you have a beautiful day/night and thank you for showing at least some love for Whisper when everyone else keeps teasing me for even having it. 😅😊❤
I can already tell when Gally comes up, he's gonna say "You're an OG Destiny player. Even though it's outclassed by other exotics by this point, you still believe it's the best in the game. Probably because of how long it took you to get one, if you ever got one to begin with." Or something to that effect.
For me, as a fallen-obsessed hunter, i rock Queenbreaker as my exotic for everything up to Nightfalls It still keeps up with most other linears thanks to there not being many high health enemys.
Queenbreaker’s Vow is my personal favorite. I’ve always been a big fan of Gjallarhorn, but the aesthetic of the weapon just seems to really fit me. I am in the crowd that wished it was buffed a bit, but I’m not opposed to working with its weaknesses. I just kind of wish it’s ammunition was a bit more accessible as a secondary cause I just like shooting it so much, but with it being a Linear Fusion Rifle, I guess that makes sense.
Black Talon: You are Zelda fan who's favorite playable character was Fierce Deity Link, cuz YOU LOVE BLADE-BEAMS. The uninformed would say that Caster Frame legendary swords do this fine, until they find out Crow's Wings works with light-attacks AND airborne.
I had to think for a second since I don’t use an exotic heavy on my main character, (Warlock) but I DO use Heir Apparent… On my Titan. Pair Cuirass of the Falling Star with maximum resilience, recovery, elemental resistance, along with Heir Apparent, and you get a serious one-two punch that is sure to keep the over shield active, whilst eviscerating bosses.
Well I'm a deathbringer enjoyer myself, and the feeling of going in pvp, shooting it off in the air, and just listening for people dying through walls; I agree with this video.
My beloved 1k. I will never put that beauty of lore rich power into the vault. It will forever be my dps weapon for every raid, and maybe just to use for fun in normal occurrences.
I remember salvations grip as a tool to reach of limit places and the ocasional tool to reach back to an area to guide new lights throu a strike ( especially the fallen saber strike on cosmodrome )
9:23 She weighs one hundred fifty kilograms and fires two hundred dollar, custom-tooled cartridges at ten thousand rounds per minute. It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon........ for twelve seconds.
I can confirm all three of my characters have their own Wardcliffe Coil and, yes, using a rocket launcher like a shotgun on steroids was a lot of fun! Also, I'd like to remind you that there was a time that Wardcliffe was the meta against the Spire of the Stars raid boss as well as, for a brief time, used to melting sisters at Destiny 2's King's Fall.
I am an Eyes of Tomorrow main, and NOT a gambit player. I get the greatest joy from being Wardcliff but STRONGER while I pretend I'm playing Earth Defense Force and watching my tracked Artillery Bombardment detonate 6 separate corners of a map.
